Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI), Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), and District/City Minimum Wage (UMK) on poverty levels in West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) over the period 2016–2023. Employing a quantitative approach through panel data regression analysis, the findings reveal that both HDI and UMK exert a statistically significant impact on poverty, whereas LFPR does not demonstrate a significant effect. Specifically, HDI is found to have a positive and significant relationship with poverty, suggesting that enhancements in education quality, health services, and purchasing power contribute to poverty reduction. Conversely, UMK exhibits a significant negative correlation with poverty, indicating that increases in minimum wages, when not accompanied by the generation of productive employment opportunities, may inadvertently exacerbate poverty levels. The insignificance of LFPR implies that labor force participation alone does not directly influence poverty alleviation in the region. These findings offer valuable insights for the formulation of more targeted and integrative policy interventions aimed at eradicating poverty in NTB.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial performance on the dividend policy of Commercial Banks listed on the IDX. The sample used in this study was 12 companies. The observation period used in this study was 5 years. The data obtained were analyzed using a statistical formula, namely by using panel data analysis which was processed using the eviews 12 program. The results of the partial analysis showed that the t-count value of 3.504 2.00 (t-table) and sig 0.0009 0.05, then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, it can be concluded that profitability has a significant effect on the dividend payout ratio of Commercial Banks listed on the IDX. The t-count value of 1.903 2.00 (t-table) and sig 0.0622 0.05, then H2 is rejected and H0 is accepted, it can be concluded that liquidity does not have a significant effect on the dividend payout ratio of Commercial Banks listed on the IDX. Solvency has a significant effect on the dividend payout ratio of Commercial Banks listed on the IDX. The calculated F value of 8.024 is greater than the F table of 3.16 with a significance level of 0.000 which is much smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the H4 hypothesis is accepted, which means that profitability, liquidity and solvency have a significant effect simultaneously on the dividend payout ratio of Commercial Banks listed on the IDX

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology, especially social media, has changed the communication landscape significantly. Social media is not only a platform for social interaction, but also an effective tool to build public awareness of global issues, including sustainable development. This paper aims to analyze the role of social media as a strategy in building public awareness about sustainable development. Through a literature review, this study identifies several key roles of social media, namely as a tool for disseminating information, facilitating public dialogue and participation, and shaping public opinion. In addition, this study also examines the challenges faced in the use of social media for sustainable development purposes, such as misinformation, polarization, and digital divide. The results of the paper show that social media has a huge potential to increase public awareness about sustainable development. However, the success of social media utilization is highly dependent on the right communication strategy, cross-sector collaboration, and efforts to overcome existing challenges.

Abstract

AbstractThe rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed service delivery in the banking sector, including Islamic banking institutions. This study examines the role of digital technology in enhancing service quality at Bank Sumsel Babel Syariah, Lubuklinggau Branch, focusing on both customer and institutional perspectives. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis with bank staff and active digital service users. The findings reveal that digital banking adoption—particularly mobile banking, internet banking, and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs)—has improved service accessibility, transaction security, and transparency, while also increasing operational efficiency, stimulating service innovation, and strengthening competitiveness. However, challenges such as low digital literacy, data security concerns, limited internet access, high maintenance costs, and uneven staff digital skills remain. This study contributes to the literature by integrating dual perspectives, emphasizing the interplay between human capital and technological adoption in semi-urban Islamic banking contexts. The results underscore the need for targeted customer education, continuous staff training, and infrastructure improvements to maximize the benefits of digital transformation in Islamic banking.

Abstract

Doctors, as one of the main providers of health services to the community, play a very central role because they are directly involved in the provision of health services and the quality of those services. The main foundation for doctors to be able to perform medical procedures on patients is their knowledge, technology, and competence. The decline in public trust in doctors, as well as the increasing number of legal claims filed today, are often associated with failures in the healing efforts undertaken by doctors. These conflicts are triggered by patients' dissatisfaction with doctors in carrying out treatments or practicing their medical profession. In providing care, every doctor must uphold medical ethics, which determine the integrity of this profession. This raises the issue of the legality of using the water birth method in childbirth procedures performed by obstetricians and gynecologists in Indonesia and the role of the Medical Ethics Honorary Council (MKEK) in addressing this issue. The method used in this study is a normative method obtained through library research, supported by data from interviews with the West Jakarta IDI. The research findings indicate that the water birth method is not yet recommended for use in medical practice in Indonesia. Neither the IDI nor the Indonesian Medical College has recognized this method. When an obstetrician-gynecologist uses this method, the doctor in question may be categorized as having violated medical professional discipline and medical ethics. The Medical Ethics Council (MKEK) of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) will take action against any doctor found to have violated medical ethics. The enforcement of medical ethics by the MKEK IDI is more of a form of guidance for doctors to better understand and adhere to the code of medical ethics.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of communication, work motivation, and work discipline on the performance of non-permanent employees at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in North Sumatra Province. The research employed a quantitative-associative approach using a survey method, with data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to respondents. The study involved a saturated sample of 61 participants. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to assess both the partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on employee performance. The findings revealed that communication, work motivation, and discipline each had a positive and significant partial impact on performance. Simultaneously, these three variables contributed significantly to improving employee performance. Among them, work discipline emerged as the most influential factor, particularly in relation to punctuality, adherence to regulations, and professional conduct. Approximately 87.6% of the variance in employee performance was explained by the combined effect of the independent variables, indicating a very strong relationship. These results suggest that strengthening organizational communication, enhancing employee motivation, and enforcing consistent work discipline are essential strategies for optimizing the performance of non-permanent staff within government institutions.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of employee engagement on the performance of employees within Sasirangan MSMEs in Banjarmasin, with motivation serving as a mediating factor. The results reveal that employee engagement influences performance both directly and indirectly through motivation. High levels of engagement foster a positive connection between employees and the organization, which in turn strengthens their dedication and enhances the quality of their work. Motivation, whether intrinsic or extrinsic, plays a critical role as a mediator, amplifying the effect of employee engagement on performance. These findings are consistent with Social Exchange Theory, which posits that mutually beneficial relationships between employees and organizations lead to improved overall outcomes. From a practical perspective, this study highlights the importance of implementing strategies that enhance employee engagement for MSMEs, particularly Sasirangan MSMEs. Initiatives such as recognizing employee contributions, providing opportunities for personal growth, and cultivating a supportive work environment can significantly boost employee motivation, thereby improving performance. By fostering a culture of engagement, MSMEs can increase both the quantity and quality of work, contributing to greater organizational success and long-term sustainability. These insights enhance the theoretical understanding of employee engagement and offer actionable strategies for MSME managers to optimize performance through a motivated and engaged workforce.
