Abstract

This study examined the effect of burnout and psychological well-being on turnover intention among 98 Generation Z workers in Klaten Regency. Data were obtained through a survey using a 5-point Likert scale with a total of 30 statement items. All items have been tested for validity and reliability, with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.868 for burnout, 0.888 for psychological well-being, and 0.910 for turnover intention, thus the instrument can be declared reliable. Descriptive statistics show that burnout is at a moderate level (M = 28.94; SD = 5.81), psychological well-being is in the good category (M = 32.67; SD = 6.14), and turnover intention is in the moderate category (M = 27.88; SD = 6.02). The results of the regression analysis showed that burnout has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention (? = 0.41; p 0.001). This means that the higher the burnout, the more likely the respondent is to intend to leave their job. In contrast, psychological well-being had a negative and significant effect (? = -0.28; p = 0.001), meaning that a good psychological condition can reduce the tendency to leave work. Regression analysis showed that the model only explained about 46.3% of the variation in turnover intention (R² = 0.463). However, the model was still statistically significant, as indicated by the F-statistic of 39.98 with a p-value below 0.001. In short, both variables are influential, and job burnout is the most important factor causing Generation Z employees to consider leaving their jobs.

Abstract

Introduction: Rising food prices, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine war, and climate change, have emerged as a pressing global issue. In Bangladesh, this has led to significant increases in food costs, impacting various groups, including university students. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of rising food prices on the dietary diversity and food consumption patterns of students at Dhaka University, with a focus on Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall canteen due to its standardized management system and accessibility.Method: A qualitative research design was employed, incorporating semi-structured interviews, key informant interviews (KII), and focus group discussions (FGD) to explore students lived experiences and coping mechanisms in response to increased food costs. Results: Findings revealed a notable shift in students’ dietary habits due to financial constraints. Many reported reducing food intake and avoiding non-essential food items. Coping strategies included portion control, skipping meals, and focusing on basic, low-cost food options. These outcomes align with similar studies in other South Asian countries, including India and Pakistan. Conclusion: The study highlights the urgent need to address the impact of food inflation on university students. Recommendations include implementing subsidized food programs, offering financial literacy support, promoting on-campus vegetable gardening, initiating food aid for vulnerable students, and collaborating with canteen authorities for price regulation. These measures aim to improve access to a nutritionally diverse diet and support student well-being amid ongoing economic challenges.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology, especially social media, has changed the communication landscape significantly. Social media is not only a platform for social interaction, but also an effective tool to build public awareness of global issues, including sustainable development. This paper aims to analyze the role of social media as a strategy in building public awareness about sustainable development. Through a literature review, this study identifies several key roles of social media, namely as a tool for disseminating information, facilitating public dialogue and participation, and shaping public opinion. In addition, this study also examines the challenges faced in the use of social media for sustainable development purposes, such as misinformation, polarization, and digital divide. The results of the paper show that social media has a huge potential to increase public awareness about sustainable development. However, the success of social media utilization is highly dependent on the right communication strategy, cross-sector collaboration, and efforts to overcome existing challenges.

Abstract

Recently, populist policies have increasingly been adopted by public officials to enhance their political image, including education-related policies issued by the Governor of West Java, which subsequently sparked criticism from various stakeholders. Therefore, this study aims to examine the policy of sending “problematic” students to military barracks through the lens of development law and a responsive, socially just conception of national defense (bela negara). This research employs a normative juridical method using a scientific approach that includes the statute approach and the conceptual approach. The findings of this study indicate that the policy of sending students to military barracks requires thorough legal examination to ensure that its legal objectives are clear and do not violate human rights. This is particularly important as not all members of society agree with such a policy; the aim of national defense is not the militarization of children but the internalization of Pancasila values and moral discipline. Thus, sending students to military barracks does not automatically align with the concept of national defense when the measures implemented are coercive, discriminatory, and unsupported by psychological and pedagogical educational principles. Furthermore, this policy is inconsistent with the characteristics of responsive development law, which prioritizes the protection of vulnerable groups and emphasizes social justice. A comprehensive evaluation of this policy is therefore necessary, taking into account sociological, legal, and human rights perspectives, as well as educational and rehabilitative approaches.

Abstract

Corruption constitutes an extraordinary crime due to its pervasive and destructive impact on political stability, economic integrity, and the social order of society. In combating this crime, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia plays a crucial role not only as a public prosecutor but also as an institution vested with the authority to conduct law enforcement intelligence activities. This authority is generally regulated under Law No. 16 of 2004, as amended by Law No. 11 of 2021 on the Prosecution Service of the Republic of Indonesia. However, such provisions remain too general and fail to provide clear technical guidelines regarding the scope, mechanisms, and oversight of prosecutorial intelligence operations. To optimize this function, the Attorney General issued Instruction No. 7 of 2023, which emphasizes the intelligence function of the Prosecution Service in supporting general criminal law enforcement, special criminal acts, and corruption prevention. Nevertheless, the Instruction remains an internal administrative directive with no binding external legal force. This research adopts a normative juridical method, employing statutory, conceptual, comparative, and case study approaches. The findings reveal that the prosecutorial intelligence function is strategically significant in supporting anti-corruption efforts. However, juridical weaknesses persist, potentially resulting in normative conflicts and risks of human rights violations. Therefore, the study concludes that a statutory-level regulation is necessary to strengthen the legality and accountability of prosecutorial intelligence within Indonesia’s criminal justice system.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an industry-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method that integrates real industrial practices into the learning process to improve students’ technical competencies, problem-solving skills, and workplace readiness. The development process adopts a research and development (RD) approach consisting of needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited trials, and large-scale implementation. The industry-based PjBL model emphasizes collaborative project work, industrial mentoring, authentic tasks, and assessment aligned with industry standards. Research findings show that the developed model is feasible, practical, and effective in enhancing learning engagement, digital literacy, and job-related competencies. Students demonstrate improved communication, teamwork, and the ability to solve real-world industrial problems. This model is expected to strengthen the link and match between educational institutions and industry, creating a more relevant and responsive learning ecosystem for vocational and higher education.

Abstract

This research, entitled “A Juridical Analysis of Village Fund Corruption Crimes (A Case Study at the Simalungun District Prosecutor’s Office),” is motivated by the increasing number of cases involving the misuse of village funds that have caused state financial losses and eroded public trust in village governments. The study aims to analyze how the law is applied in cases of village fund corruption handled by the Simalungun District Prosecutor’s Office, to identify the obstacles encountered by prosecutors in handling such cases, and to evaluate the effectiveness of law enforcement in eradicating corruption involving village funds. The research adopts a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, focusing on the Kardianto case handled by the Simalungun District Prosecutor’s Office. The data sources consist of primary legal materials, such as legislation and indictment documents; secondary legal materials, including books, journals, and previous research; and tertiary legal materials, such as legal dictionaries and encyclopedias. The findings reveal that the application of law in cases of village fund corruption has been carried out in accordance with Law No. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes and Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages. However, the effectiveness of law enforcement remains hindered by overlapping regulations, limited human resources, weak inter-agency coordination, and low levels of legal awareness among the community. Nevertheless, the Simalungun District Prosecutor’s Office has demonstrated progressive measures through the implementation of the Jaksa Garda Desa (Village Guardian Prosecutor) program and the digitalization of public-fund monitoring. The study concludes that law enforcement against village fund corruption in the jurisdiction of the Simalungun District Prosecutor’s Office has been relatively effective in its repressive aspects but needs strengthening in preventive and participatory dimensions. Institutional reform, capacity building for law enforcement officers, and active community participation are essential to establishing transparent, accountable, and corruption-free village governance.
