Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of problem posing approach in term of mathematical thinking skill of senior high school students. This study was a quasi-experimental study using the nonequivalent pretest and posttest group design. The population was year X students of State Senior High School 1 of Sakra Lombok Timur that consisted of six classes. The sample was two classes selected randomly from all Year X classes; class X-5 received a treatment of problem posing approach and class X-6 received as a control class. The instrument used is a test to measure mathematical thinking skill. To find out the effectiveness of problem posing approaches in the mathematical thinking skill, the data were analyzed using One Sample Test. The result of the study states that problem posing approach is effective in terms of the mathematical thinking skill of Senior High School Students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of GeoGebra media in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts in dimension 3 material. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The research design used is a type of nonequivalent control group design. This research took place at the Abhariyah Islamic High School, West Lombok. The population in this study were students of class X high school. The sample of researchers took all the students of class X sma with a total of 30 students, of which 15 students were used as experimental classes and 15 students in the control class. The instrument used in this study is a test. Hypothesis tests were carried out using an independent samples t test. The results showed that the use of GeoGebra media can help students in understanding mathematical concepts (effectively). With the calculation results obtained are as follows: the average Post-Test of the experiment and control classes is 13.6 and 12.4. With a significant degree of α = 5% = 0.05, db = n – 2 = 30 – 2 = 28. So that t_tabel=t_((0,025;28) )=2,048 with t_hitung=2,738. Post-Test experiment and control classes show that t_hitung>t_tabel then H_0 rejected. So, it can be concluded that post-test experimentation and control have differences. Based on the calculation results of the N-Gain Score test, it shows that the average value of the N-Gain Score for the experimental class is 72.7944 or 73% belonging to the category of quite effective. With a minimum N-Gain Score of 58.14% and a maximum of 88%. And it can be concluded that this means the effective use of GeoGebra media in terms of understanding students' mathematical concepts in dimension 3 material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is a qualitative research with the type of case study research that analyzes the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were mathematics teachers in grades VII, VIII and IX at SMPN 5 Sekotong. The instruments used in this study were interview guidelines and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the creativity of mathematics teachers in designing learning can be seen from the activities of each teacher during the process of designing the lesson. Where there are certain things that at the time of designing (designing) learning during this pandemic, the teacher made slight modifications, namely in determining competency achievement indicators (GPA) that did not burden students, the teacher emphasized more on student character building, including building student motivation to studying in school. The time allocation is also shortened because students who enter the school are divided into several sessions, so that students can keep their distance while studying in class and not cause crowds in the school environment. The teacher chooses to use the discussion and question and answer method where the discussion and question and answer method is carried out online using the WA Group. This is a solution for students to stay active in learning and comply with Health protocols.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a quantitative approach. This research took place at MTsN 2 West Sumbawa. The population in this study were students of class VII MTS. The research sample was 32 students, of which 16 students were used as participants in the experimental class and 16 students as participants in the control class. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. The results showed that there was an effect of the open-ended learning approach on students' mathematical communication skills. With a significant level of a = 0.05; obtained ttable = 2.042 and tcount = 3,672. It is concluded that tcount > ttable then Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the open-ended learning approach on mathematical communication skills between students who are taught using an open-ended approach compared to the conventional approach.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the traditional snacks of the Sakra community, the mathematical objects contained in the traditional snacks of the Sakra people, and the mathematical activities contained in the process of making and selling traditional snacks of the Sakra people. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic type of approach. This research was conducted in Sakra District, East Lombok Regency, NTB, especially in the area of ​​Sakra traditional snack traders. Based on the results of the analysis of the discussion in this study, it can be concluded that temerodok and jaje kaok are traditional snacks from Sakra village. These two snacks have an important role in the customs of the Sakra community and also in helping the economy of the Sakra village community. The results of the identification of the traditional forms of the Sakra people's snacks (temerodok and jaje kaok) can be concluded that there are mathematical objects in these two snacks, namely crescent moons, ellipses, parabolic curves, and rectangles and blocks. And based on the results of the analysis of the Sakra community's activities in making traditional snacks, forms/patterns of snacks and in the process of selling traditional snacks, it can be concluded that there are mathematical activities in the two traditional snacks, namely counting activities, measuring activities, designing activities, and explaining activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the extent to which the concept of fractions is presented in learning video content on four channels in Indonesia including the Le Guru Les, Sigma Smart Study, Math Class Ku, and Pras Academy channels. This study uses a qualitative research approach using content analysis methods. Data were collected through analysis activities on four aspects, namely content aspects, presentation aspects, graphic aspects, and language aspects which contained several indicators in each of these aspects. The results of the study indicate that the Math Class Ku channel can help with learning difficulties in mathematics with fractions because it starts from the content aspect that meets the basic competencies (KD) of the 2013 curriculum so that the learning objectives for fractions material in class VII SMP are achieved, although there are still sub-chapters that have not been discussed. In addition, the presentation and graphic aspects consist of various kinds of attractions in the form of interactive stimuli, pictures, and illustrations in helping students understand fractional material and only two non-standard words were found. The second order of the Sigma Smart Study channels from the aspect of content there is still a KD that is not fulfilled but contains several pictures and illustrations of fractions, but there are clipped sounds and the use of some words is not standard. The third order of the Pras Academy channels from the aspect of content has fulfilled the KD but is more towards solving sample questions and using several solutions. The background of this channel is still monotonous because it lacks the use of attractiveness and there are sentences that are not effective in helping students understand the fraction material. And the fourth channel is Le Guru Les, which fulfills the KD but has not been detailed in discussing the basic concepts of fractions and still really needs interactive stimuli, pictures and illustrations and there are still some ineffective use of words and sentences in helping students understand fraction material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning for students of class VII MTs. Muhammadiyah Nangapanda for the academic year 2021/2022. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation design. With data collection techniques using test methods, questionnaires, and documentation. In answering the sample using purposive sampling technique with a sample of 22 people in one class, namely class VII. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out using pearson product-moment correlation analysis,   obtained the correlation coofynent r = 0.426 and the relationship belongs to the sufficient category. This shows that accepted and rejected because or , so it can be said accepted and rejected with the large contribution that emotional intelligence gives to critical thinking skills on mathematics learning is only 18.14%. The results obtained from this study show that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning but in the sufficient category, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills in mathematics learning of class VII MTs. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang bisa matematika formal belum tentu bisa matematika non-formal yang ada di tengah masyarakat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika di sekolah belum sepenuhnya melibatkan hal-hal yang ada di sekitar siswa dan lebih cenderung kepada bagaimana siswa menjawab soal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan cara perajin gerabah dalam mengkonstruksi bangun ruang sisi lengkung dan mengungkap konsep-konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung yang terdapat pada pembuatan gerabah di Desa Banyumulek. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang perajin gerabah yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu yaitu subjek merupakan praktisi atau ahli dalam pembuatan gerabah. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cara perajin gerabah dalam mengkonstruksi bangun ruang sisi lengkung pada pembuatan gerabah adalah terdiri dari 4 proses yaitu, membuat tombong (alas), bebentet (sisi lengkung), belong (leher atau lengkung penghubung) dan membuat biwir (mulut atau tutup) gerabah. Serta terdapat konsep bangun ruang sisi lengkung pada pembuatan gerabah di Desa Banyumulek yaitu konsep parsial tabung, kerucut, bola, dan konsep utuh tabung.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the learning difficulties of class VIII A MTs students. Badrussalam NW Sekarbela on circle material in terms of concepts, principles, and algorithms (2) to find out the teacher's efforts in overcoming the learning difficulties of class VIII A MTs students. Badrussalam NW Sekarbela on circle material in terms of the use of concepts, principles, and algorithms. The subjects selected in this study were 19 students, but 1 student was absent due to illness so the subject became 18 students who took the circle test. The research subjects would be determined based on the results of the circle test. Students who were selected as research subjects were students who did not meet the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria). Of the 18 students who took the circle test, there were 5 students who passed. Which is determined as research subjects are 3 students who get a score and 3 students with. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing (verification), and checking the validity of the data used, namely observation extension, observation persistence, triangulation, and reference adequacy. The results showed that students' difficulties in learning circle material in terms of concepts, principles, and algorithms, namely: (a) students' difficulties in giving short names or technical names (b) students' difficulties in remembering the formulas for circumference and area of circles (c) difficulties in classification (d) students' unskilled in basic errors (e) calculation errors (f) students have not been able to master the algorithm. And the teacher's efforts to overcome student learning difficulties in circle material in terms of concepts, principles, and algorithms, namely: (a) provide an understanding of the concept of circle elements by showing pictures of circles (b) provide exercises with various questions (c) take a variety of approaches personally to students (d) doing private privately (e) repeating questions that have been studied (f) giving directions to students to remember the formulas learned (g) guiding and directing students in using the algorithm correctly.

Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional adalah kemampuan untuk mengenali perasaan, meraih dan membangkitkan perasaan untuk membantu pikiran, memahami perasaan, dan mengendali perasaan sehinggga membantu perkembangan emosi dan intelektual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian in menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Ex-postpasto. Banyak sampel yang di gunakan sebagai obyek penelitian adalah keseluruhan dari populasi yaitu 32 siswa kelas VIII MTs. Al-Ikhlashiyah Perampuan. Tekhnik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji linieritas. Untuk melihat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan hasil belajar siswa, digunakan rumus product moment, setelah hasil perhitungannya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan, baru peneliti lanjut ke uji selanjutnya dimana peneliti ingin melihat pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Uji yang digunakan adalah uji t. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosional dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hal ini bisa dilihat dalam hasil perhitungan sebesar 0,495 lebih besar dengan r tabel untuk taraf kesalahan 5% dengan N=32 sebesar 0,349, yang berarti (0,495 > 0,349). Ini berarti bahwa lebih besar r hitung dari pada r tabel. Bisa dilihat juga dari hasil uji t di peroleh nilai yaitu t hitung > t tabel (2,00 > 1,697). Sehingga dengan ini bisa dinyatakan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosioanl terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII di MTs Al-Ikhlashiyah perampuan.
