Abstract

Kasepuhan Ciptagelar has unique customs and culture that are still maintained today and does not close itself from the development of the times, but accepts it consciously. Over time, traditional settlements are faced with challenges to be able to meet their needs. This can change land use in this traditional settlement. This study aims to determine changes in land use and its relation to cultural factors. This research uses qualitative methods. The research was conducted in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar traditional settlement area between of 2001 to 2022. The research was carried out by reconstructing land use maps in Kasepuhan Ciptagelar which then identified changes from year to year. Furthermore, an analysis of the cultural factor in influencing land use changes in these settlements is carried out. The results of the analysis shows that during the research period there has been a continuous land use change. Cultural factors also influence the land use changes. The ngalalakon tradition became a major factor in the early period of settlement development. The perspective of accepting changes of era by the Ciptagelar community can be interpreted as an adaptation of settlements to keep up with the times and this perspective also makes continuous changes to Kasepuhan Ciptagelar.

Abstract

The application of agroforestry landscape pattern for rubber plant with cayenne pepper plant has an effect on productivity and land use level compared to monoculture system. This reaserch aims to obtain data on the production of cayenne pepper plants in rubber plants agroforestry system and compare it with monoculture systems. The research was located in Sumber Sari Village, Sebulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency with two planting system treatments (P), it’s monoculture system planting (p1) and rubber plants agroforestry system (p2) with 6 plots as replicates each. The variables measured were the production of cayenne pepper plants until the 5th (fifth) harvest based on the average sample. Data were analyzed using the Independent Sample t-test with a significant level (α) of 5%. Production of cayenne pepper plants in rubber plants agroforestry system reached 2.32 Mg.ha-1 which was greater than monoculture system with a production of 1.46 Mg.ha-1 with F-Count 1.74 and F- Table 7.15. This is due to the growth environmental conditions and photosynthetic efficiency, with a higher daily temperature of 300C in monoculture system, it will slow down of photosynthesis and accelerate respiration rate, whereas the daily temperature in an agroforestry planting system with rubber plants is only 260C, so that the photosynthesis rate is higher than respiration rate, because the optimum temperature for cayenne pepper plants photosynthetic is 21-270C. Cayenne pepper plants in agroforestry landscape pattern for rubber plant were able to produce better yields than monoculture planting systems based on two average similarity test.

Abstract

The condition of Parks in Depok City has become unmaintained since the covid-19 pandemic due to restrictions on the number of visitors. On the other hand, a comfortable park can improve health. This study identifies existing conditions and analyzes thermal comfort and aesthetics in Taman Lembah Gurame, Taman Lembah Mawar, and Taman Merdeka based on site analysis and users’ perceptions. Evaluation of thermal comfort using Thermal Humidity Index (THI) analysis, while evaluation of landscape aesthetic using the Scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) method. The perception and preference of respondents using descriptive statistical analysis methods. The THI analysis result showed that the thermal comfort of three city parks was classified as uncomfortable to very uncomfortable. However, the aesthetic assessment in Taman Lembah Gurame and Taman Lembah Mawar was highly aesthetic, while Taman Merdeka was lowly aesthetic. It could be caused by planting design, layout, and activities on-site, which makes users more tolerant of the thermal comfort of parks. Improving facilities and adding flowering plants and shady trees are needed to make city parks more comfortable, beautiful, also adaptive in the new normal era.

Abstract

Vertical greenery in the city of Pekanbaru is very difficult to find because there are still many people who do not know the various benefits and uses of vertical greenery with limited land. This study focuses on the city of Pekanbaru at 10 locations found. The research location is in the District Limapuluh, District Pekanbaru City, District Marpoyan Damai with 2 location points. Area Sukajadi and in the District Bukit Raya each with 3 location points. This paper aims to examine perceptions, preferences, color freshness and plant density analyzed by SBE. Vertical greenery is generally found in cafes, hotels and included in the Pekanbaru Park service. The vertical greenery owned by the company in management is more maintained and aesthetically so that it gets the highest score. Meanwhile, the Pekanbaru office tends to be simple in design and many are neglected. The results showed that the people of Pekanbaru city were still unfamiliar with the existence of vertical greening. While the results of the evaluation of the aesthetic value show that the average vertical greenery in Pekanbaru City has a good aesthetic value at a moderate level. Both in terms of design, freshness of color and density level are influenced by several aspects such as structure, environment, activity intensity, type of plant vegetation and maintenance.

Abstract

Tegaldeeng is one of the kampongs in the village of Medalsari, Karawang Regency, which has been influenced by the regency developments, so that it has an impact on the culture and the landscape. The landscape of Tegaldeeng kampong has very high potential in terms of natural and cultural resources. Efforts to prevent the degradation of the culture and the potential of the traditional landscape need to be studied in the kampong landscape pattern. This study aims to identify and analyze the character of the landscape and the elements that make up the settlement landscape, and to compose the landscape pattern of Tegaldeeng kampong based on local culture. This research was conducted using descriptive method through literature study, interview, and field observation. The settlement character of Tegaldeeng kampong landscape is relatively flat in the settlement area, and slightly undulating outside the area. The dominant land cover is rice fields and mixed gardens. The character is formed by supporting elements in the form of natural and artificial elements. Natural elements function more as a 'borrowing landscape' for the settlement landscape, except for the river that crosses the western village border. The man-made elements include rice fields, mixed gardens, settlements, and main road. The landscape of Tegaldeeng kampong settlement forms a cluster patterns, and able to accommodates all cultural activities of the local community.

Abstract

This paper addresses one of the knowledge gaps that exists in green infrastructure (GI) discourses, that is the lack of understanding on the application of GI at community scale. GI was first introduced as an alternative to address problems caused by rapid urbanisation. Recently, GI has become a crucial part of strategies to achieve sustainable development and therefore has been widely advocated for its environmental, social, and economic benefits. Although the concepts and benefits of green infrastructure have been widely discussed and recognized in the literature, much of the discussions on GI tend to revolve around its applications at the city and regional scales, while the application of small scale GI at the community level has not been much explored, despite the importance of multiscale principle in the application of GI. To address that issue, this study focuses on the application of small-scale GI at the community level. It employed a systematic review to analyse publications, including articles published in scientific journals and news on reliable mass media on the internet, regarding the application of small-scale GI in 23 Indonesian urban kampung. The study shows that in dense settlements like urban kampung, community scale GI emerges as an alternative solution to the lack of space for GI development. From the 23 cases analysed, GI is mostly intended to function as a mean for environmental conservation and to promote food security.

Abstract

Residential in RT 06/RW03 Kelurahan Tanah Baru has a green open space with an area of +1,012 m2. The current condition of the green open space is not well organized and has no design so the site becomes shrubs and some corners of the green open space become. garbage dump. The problem is that there is no clear concept in the arrangement of green open spaces, which can be used as a guide by RT06/RW03 officials and residents in developing green open spaces in the future. The aims of this study were: 1) to identify the needs and desires of residents in designing neighborhood parks; 2) to analyze the site of the neighborhood park 3) to develop neighborhood park design concepts. Analysis using descriptive statistics, site analysis, and the design concept using Permaculture. The community's desire for the function of green open space is as a productive garden, sport, recreation, gathering, and education. The spatial concept consists of welcoming areas, production zones, reuse and service zones, and Social zones. The concept of circulation on the site uses two circulation patterns, namely radial and linear patterns which have achieved effectiveness. The main concept of vegetation management is the production function which includes annual crops, pulses, medicinal plants, and flowering plants that function as edible flowers. The results of the neighborhood park design, make the park sustainable and multifunctional, as: ecological function, Social function, economical functional, and aesthetical function.
