Abstract

Saat ini, perpustakaan dituntut untuk menyediakan berbagai informasi dan koleksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pengguna yang beragam. Oleh karena itu, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penggunanya, perpustakaan perlu melakukan kerjasama terutama dalam pengadaan bahan pustaka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pelaksanaan kerjasama Perpustakaan UNIKOM (Universitas Ilmu Komputer Indonesia) dengan Japan Foundation serta untuk mengetahui dampak bagi pemustaka Perpustakaan UNIKOM mengenai tersedianya koleksi hasil kerjasama dengan Japan Foundation. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kerjasama dengan Japan Foundation pertama kali dilakukan Program Studi Sastra Jepang UNIKOM. Hasil kerjasama tersebut berupa penerimaan hibah koleksi buku dari Japan Foundation. Selain itu, Japan Foundation juga memberikan hibah koleksi buku kepada perpustakaan melalui FPPTI Jawa Barat. Dari kerjasama tersebut, Perpustakaan UNIKOM menerima koleksi berupa buku, CD, dan majalah. Kerjasama ini memberikan dampak positif bagi pemustaka karena pemustaka bisa memanfaatkan koleksi yang berkualitas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi serta meningkatkan wawasan pemustaka mengenai Jepang.

Abstract

Academic libraray can be an example where this recreational function is less developed, in contrast to other functions seen from the various new service developments that exist in libraries. Limited space for libraries to develop recreational services can be because the directorate/field that oversees the library does not understand the function of the library as a recreation area or there are limited costs. However, these circumstances should not restrict academic library from developing recreational services. One solution that can be done by the library is to cooperate with other parties, such as the ITB library (Bandung Institute of Technology) with the United States (US) embassy in providing American Corner. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, direct interviews, and literature studies. The results of this study show that the US embassy provides various grants in the form of collections, goods, and funding for the needs of the American Corner ITB facility. Facilities available at American Corner include a variety of magazines, classic and latest novels, comfortable chairs and sofas for reading, board games, TVs, iMacs, 3D printers, Arduino, VR headsets, TVs, and DVD players. These facilities and collections are always used by students for their recreational purposes. The ITB library also mentioned that students gave positive feedback about the existing facilities.

Abstract

Film The Swimmers yang menjadi objek dalam tulisan ini menceritakan gambaran perjalanan pengungsi Suriah yang berusaha mencapai negara Jerman akibat konflik yang terjadi di negara mereka. Konflik yang terjadi di Suriah mengakibatkan para rakyatnya kehilangan tempat tinggal, pekerjaan, dan juga kehidupan yang normal. Teori yang digunakan untuk membahas cerminan kondisi sosial budaya dalam film terhadap fakta sosial yang terjadi di Suriah tersebut adalah teori sosiologi sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dalam menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata yang terdapat dalam dialog film. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa cerita dalam film tersebut merupakan sebuah representasi dari sebuah proses perjalanan pengungsi Suriah yang mengungsi Jerman akibat konflik melalui dua jalur, yaitu jalur laut dan jalur darat. Jalur laut yang mereka lalui adalah dari Turki menuju ke kepulauan di Yunani. Sedangkan jalur darat yang mereka lalui yaitu dari Yunani melewati negara-negara Eropa Barat, seperti Makedonia, Serbia, Hungaria, Austria, lalu sampai ke Jerman.

Abstract

As time progresses, there are more challenges faced. One of these challenges is the increasingly modern globalization, which can easily lead to the loss of existence of a culture and make it vulnerable to extinction.  This research has two main objectives. First, to understand the existence of the "kenduri sko" tradition within the Kerinci community. This "kenduri sko" tradition is crucial for the Kerinci people, not only as a culture passed down through generations but also because it embodies valuable qualities and has become an identity for the Kerinci community. Second, the researcher's awareness of the importance of preserving and maintaining the continuity of this culture. The effort proposed to preserve it is by implementing Talcott Parsons' structural functionalism theory. The methods employed by the researcher are literature review and descriptive methods. The findings indicate that "kenduri sko" carries significant local wisdom, aligning with the goals of structural functionalism theory, which aims for integration. Every member of the Kerinci community, whether ordinary citizens, "anak batino" (women), government officials, religious scholars, "depati" and "ninik mamak," or government officials, has their respective roles and functions in the execution of "kenduri sko." Some aspects of "kenduri sko" have evolved positively in line with the times. Thus, if the values, roles, and functions can be understood and implemented effectively and can adapt to modern developments, the "kenduri sko" tradition can be preserved.

Abstract

One of the challenges facing universities is how to produce graduates who are not only capable of developing knowledge, but who are also able to absorb it quickly and participate in the world of work. The employability of graduates can be demonstrated by the profile of the work they do. Public perception can be measured through a tracer study, which is a study of the track record of graduates. This research is a quantitative study that focuses on tracing the graduates of the History of Islamic Civilisation programme, UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The results of the tracer study data processing are intended to see the absorption of graduates in the world of work based on suitability with the profile of graduates of the study programme, as well as their absorption in their field of work. The results showed that the percentage of graduates working in relevant fields reached 54%. Another 31% of the graduates decided to become entrepreneurs. The percentage of graduates who were not working was 15%. This remains to be seen, as it comes from the 2022-2023 graduates. Therefore, the socialisation of the profile of graduates to the community and graduate users needs to be improved.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Minangkabau women in supporting the family economy in 1912-1921 as reviewed from the Soenting Melajoe newspaper. This research applies a historical approach by following 3 phases, namely heuristics, source criticism, and historiography. The findings from this research indicate that the contribution of Minangkabau women in improving prosperity, especially in the economic sector, is reflected in the role of women in the period 1912-1921. In the field of family economics, women manage household finances, even though they are faced with a lack of confidence in their abilities. Outside the family environment, women are involved in earning a living through various professions such as craftsmen, teachers, traders, journalists and government employees. They are also active in developing skills and involved in education to achieve economic prosperity. Their participation reflects the economic transformation during the modernization of Minangkabau society, driven by education, skills and the active role of women in economic life.

Abstract

This research aims to explain how social and economic life of the Suku Anak Dalam that have been joined to Muslim. The Suku Anak Dalam is one of the remote tribes in Jambi Province. Previously, this tribe lived a simple life where they only ignored their lives in nature. However, over time, many changes have occurred in this tribe, many factors have caused these changes, one of which is interaction with outside society. This research is a type of field study research with a qualitative approach. Researchers went directly to the research location and conducted interviews with key sources, namely the Suku Anak Dalam, who are Muslims. The data analysis carried out in this research went through a series of steps in historical research methods which were preceded by heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and also historiography. The results of this research show that in 1998 the Suku Anak Dalam had already joined to Islam, they had abandoned old traditions such as melangun and basale, they had followed the way of life and rules of the village community, in addition, in terms of economics, they not only met their needs. just to eat, but already thinking about owning property.

Abstract

This research raises the issue of women in the manuscript by Usman bin Yahya entitled Periyasan Bagus. This research to depict Betawi women in the 19th century. To reveal the contents of the manuscript text, the first step is to read the manuscript and translate. Then proceed with analyzing the structure of the content using a mimetic approach which produces isotopy and a psychological approach regarding women's self-image using Satoto' theory (1994). The results obtained show that the Periyasan Bagus manuscript depicts women in psychological aspects and social aspects. The psychological image of Betawi women depicted in the PB text is Betawi women who say dzikir and Betawi women who always guard or observe prayers. Meanwhile, the image of women in the social aspect is that of Betawi women who behave well, guard their words and sweeten their views both towards their parents and husband.

Abstract

The novel al-Fâris al-Jamîl was written by ‘Alî Ahmad Bâkatsîr in the 19th century. This novel contains events that correspond to historical realities. This article aims to uncover the reflection of historical realities in the novel. The study employs a descriptive-qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection was carried out using note-taking techniques. The data was then analyzed using the dialectical method to examine the congruence between events in and outside the novel al-Fâris al-Jamîl, through the theories of Frederic Jameson and Robert Scholes. The results of the study indicate that the characters in the novel al-Fâris al-Jamîl depict historical realities following the death of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly during the Umayyad period in the mid-6th to 7th centuries. This is evidenced by the inclusion of historical figures from that period in the story, including Mu?’ab bin al-Zubair, ‘Abdullâh bin al-Zubair, and ‘Abdu al-Malik bin Marwân.

Abstract

This paper discusses the development of the History of Islamic Civilization in Myanmar before and after independence. This discussion is relevant because the Muslim community in Myanmar has been the focus of world attention in recent decades. Their challenging living conditions have come under the spotlight, especially as various issues related to Muslims in Burma (Myanmar) have emerged. Discrimination against them often occurs because they are a minority in a country where the majority of the population is non-Muslim. The living conditions of Muslims in Myanmar create complex dynamics and are interesting to discuss. This paper draws its sources from library research, with the aim of exploring the dynamics of Myanmar Muslim life through a historical lens. The data collection method involves referencing literature, including books, journals, and other scholarly papers. The data analysis process involves collecting, identifying and categorizing information, which is then interpreted to form concepts that support the main discussion in this paper. The results show that Islam has been present in Myanmar since the 9th century. Various tribes or ethnicities in Myanmar embrace Islam, such as the Rohingya, Huihui (Panthay), Burmese Muslims, Muslims of Indian descent, and Zerbadi. The Rohingyas in particular are known as a group that is against the Myanmar government. This has led them to be regarded as rebels, resulting in the persecution of the Rohingya.
