Abstract

The Chinese or Chinese ethnic group in Malaysia is very different from the Chinese ethnic group in Indonesia, this can be seen from the perspective of language use, both the national language and also everyday language. The biggest problem for ethnic Chinese in Malaysia is that ethnic Chinese cannot or cannot pronounce Malay which is the official national language, not only that, there is segregation, especially segregation in the field of education. Education in Malaysia is separated based on ethnicity in Malaysia. The political system that exists in Malaysia is very different from the political system understood by ethnic Chinese, leaning more towards communism. With these differences, ethnic Chinese in Malaysia have boundaries with ethnic Malays, making them feel a very weak sense of love (nationalism) towards Malaysia. This research is based on political theory. This political role is what gives direction or outlook to the Chinese ethnic group in Malaysia, with this difference making the Chinese prefer to maintain their original identity rather than assimilate into tennis in Malaysia. The research method used refers to historical research methods with a descriptive qualitative approach and literature. The weak sense of nationalism of ethnic Chinese towards Malaysia is caused by several things such as lack of assimilation and assimilation with other ethnicities, educational separation, differences in political sects, different social status and discrimination, sensitive religious issues.

Abstract

The presence of Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community within the Bukit Duabelas National Park (TNBD) area is inextricably linked to the park's management and existence. The SAD people live a nomadic lifestyle and rely on the natural resources within the park for their survival. This research will explain the TNBD management as an environmental protection, encompassing flora, fauna, and the habitat of SAD. This research is qualitative research and conducted at the Resort 2E TNBD area and the TNBD central office in Sarolangun City. The data collection techniques employed were field observation, interviews, documentation and a literature review. The data analysis employed triangulation techniques. The findings of this research demonstrate that effective management of the TNBD area necessitates a focus on maintaining the equilibrium of the ecosystem and the aspects of the lives of the Anak Dalam Tribe. As a biosphere reserve area with SAD in its vicinity, the Jambi regional government has been assisted by relevant partners and has actively involved SAD personnel and cultural aspects. The process commenced with the designation of national park zoning, proceeded with the protection of forest areas, and culminated in the empowerment of communities situated in the vicinity of Bukit Duabelas National Park.

Abstract

Arabic literary criticism in its development from the jahiliyyah to the contemporary period continues to undergo changes. The West became one of the causes of reform in the realm of contemporary Arabic criticism which brought modernism in Arabic poetic methods. This research examines the problems that occur in the development of contemporary Arabic literary criticism as well as the ideological and Adonis foundations related to contemporary Arabic literary criticism. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a research design in the form of library research. The results of this study show that contemporary Arabic literary criticism undergoes changes in the search for criticism methods according to the trends that exist in contemporary times. Arab critics adopt Western methodological trends but do not abandon the methods that have existed in Arabia so far. Although through a long process, Arab criticism can adjust the modernist changes. Regarding modernity, there is one literary critic named Adonis who criticises the Arab-Islamic tradition. Adonis' ideology of thought was formed during his intellectual journey. Adonis was influenced in his thinking by Anton Sa'adah and Nitzcshe.

Abstract

The dynamics of the early 20th century between the old and the young gave birth to a golden age for intellectuals. Several religious traditions that had previously taken root began to be questioned by young people, giving rise to works in the form of satire and apologetics. One of the religious traditions at issue is the Prophet's birthday. Young people who are gathered in Sumatra Thawalib, such as HAKA and Abdullah Ahmad, through their writings, say that the birthday tradition, in this case 'standing the birthday', is heresy. This was then responded to and refuted by the law of circumcision by the elderly who were gathered in the Islamic Tarbiyah Association (PERTI) through their writings. Based on this, this article wants to look at the thoughts of PERTI ulama in maintaining the sanctity of the law of Mawlid through the socio-religious dynamics that gave birth to apologetic works.

Abstract

Modernization and globalization have marginalized many traditional values, making the need for cultural and religious revitalization even more urgent. Religious figures such as Abuya Zahmir Ba play an important role as the guardian of religious values as well as the driving force in reviving the almost forgotten local traditions in Hiang Tinggi. The purpose of this article is to explain the contribution of Abuya Zahmir BA in the revitalization of religion and culture in Hiang Tinggi. This research uses historical research methods with the first step being heuristics, which is the collection of data from various relevant sources. The second step is source criticism, which involves verifying and checking the authenticity and credibility of the data. Next, the interpretation step is applied to interpret the data that has been collected. The final step is historiography, where the results of the research are organized in a scientific writing format. The results show that firstly, as an influential religious figure, Abuya Zahmir BA plays an important role in shaping the social order of society, especially in the field of social religion and moral values. Secondly Abuya Zahmir BA not only teaches religious knowledge, but also mobilizes solidarity and togetherness in Hiang Tinggi, as well as preserving the cultural heritage and spirituality of the village. Thirdly, his contribution was significant in shaping the character of the community, raising spiritual awareness, and connecting religious values with cultural traditions.

Abstract

This study provides an understanding of how the Qur'an cares about the environment in the view of the interpretation of al-Qurthubi and the interpretation of the Ministry of Religion. Using a qualitative research method with a library research approach. The results of the discussion state that the interpretation of al-Qurthubi and the Ministry of Religion explain that the Qur'an talks about environmental preservation in 7 themes, namely first) with the destruction of the Environment, the knowledge and power that humans have cannot function, and human social life will also be disrupted. Second) humans are obliged to care for the earth. Third) everything that Allah created is for human needs. Fourth) humans are trusted by Allah to care for the earth by utilizing what is in it. Fifth) the destruction of nature is caused by human hands. Sixth) water is the source of all life. Seventh) Allah grows all forms of plants and fruits that humans can benefit from, the benefits that can be taken by humans are the benefits of consuming and the benefits of beauty when looking at it. All damage done by humans will be punished by law and in accordance with it, both punishments written in laws set by the local government and direct punishments given by God in the form of calamities and natural disasters.

Abstract

Tradisi buang-buang merupakan salah satu warisan budaya masyarakat adat Melayu Dusun Nanga Empanang, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan tradisi buang-buang secara mendalam pada era modernisasi, mulai dari persiapan, rangkaian upacara, hingga makna yang terkandung di dalamnya. Melalui metode wawancara tidak berstruktur, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tradisi buang-buang memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan sosial dan spiritual masyarakat. Tradisi ini masih sangat relevan dengan era modernisasi, yang mana tradisi ini sendiri tidak hanya sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap leluhur, tetapi juga sebagai sarana untuk menjaga keseimbangan antara manusia dan alam.

Abstract

Meskipun masih banyak perdebatan mengenai asal-usul masuknya Islam ke Kawasan Asia Tenggara itu justru menjadi isu fokus tentang pertama kali perkembangan Islam di Asia Tenggara oleh para sejarawan mengenai dinamika perkembangan Islam di Asia Tenggara. Mendengar tentang kawasan Asia Tenggara yang muncul dalam benak adalah dengan wilayah yang mayoritas penduduknya paling banyak memeluk agama Islam. Diantara semua wilayah muslim hanya kawasan Asia Tenggara yang memiliki ciri khas Islam yang moderat, hal itu itu dikarenakan pada saat proses Islamisasi yang dilakukan orang-orang terdahulu yaitu dengan cara damai, dan tidak memaksa. Sehingga tidak adanya pertumpahan darah atau melibatkan kekuatan militer seperti yang terjadi di kawasan lain, dengan itu para penduduk lokal mudah menerima apa yang sudah dibawakan oleh para pedagang ke tanah Melayu. Mereka memulai dengan cara yang disenangi masyarakat seperti berdagang, membangun pusat pendidikan, bahkan termasuk mengadakan perkawinan dengan orang lokal yang menjadikan Islam semakin kuat dan dapat disebar luaskan dengan mudah. Tidak hanya agama, melainkan juga tradisi serta budaya-budaya keislaman melalui pengajaran yang dibawakan oleh para tokoh agama sangat membuat masyarakat antusias menerima dengan baik akulturasi dan perpaduan kebudayaan tanpa menghilangkan entitas kebudayaan lokal yang ada. Sehingga Islam Asia Tenggara dikenal dengan ciri khas watak dan karakteristiknya yang terbuka dan mudah menerima.

Abstract

The various nations that came to the Strait of Malacca brought with them diverse cultures as a trading hub, giving rise to a fusion of the cultures of the immigrants and the native population. Consequently, ongoing activities led to a blending of these cultures, which over time formed new cultures, especially in the surrounding regions. The Strait of Malacca's long-standing reputation as an international trade route is indeed unwavering. However, if the Strait of Malacca is read as a focal point for cultural mixing across three regions, it will undoubtedly give rise to incidents. A qualitative approach is an ideal method for developing research that begins with a hypothesis. This study begins with the tentative hypothesis that the Strait of Malacca may indeed be a focal point for cultural acculturation. Sources and data from various literature then serve as the data collection method in this study. This study aims to find the precise reasons why the Strait of Malacca deserves to be called a focal point for cultural acculturation from various regions, especially Asia (Central, East, West and Southeast). The results obtained indicate that the Strait of Malacca is indeed worthy of the status of an area that supports the mixing or acculturation of cultures throughout the world, especially in these three regions. This is proven by the cultures, especially those in Southeast Asia today, which are the result of cultural acculturation, where the original culture of sailors and traders has mixed with the culture of each ethnic group that flows into the Strait of Malacca.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren memberikan pendidikan yang lebih holistik dengan memperhatikan dimensi spiritual, moral, dan intelektual yang dapat membentuk jiwa kepemimpinan yang dilandasi oleh karakter religius para santri. Karakter religius diperlukan bagi seorang pemimpin yang mampu memahami dirinya sendiri, kebutuhan dan tujuan bawahannya, paradigma dan sistem manajemen tempat kerjanya, serta perkembangan dan isu lingkungan strategis yang dihadapi. Seorang pemimpin harus mampu memberikan jawaban yang bijak dan tepat terhadap berbagai persoalan dan kesulitan yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh karakter religius terhadap kepemimpinan santri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto. Penelitian dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Juraimi Yogyakarta dengan jumlah sampel 67 santri. Sampel dipilih dengan metode probability sampling dengan simple random sampling. Variabel bebasnya adalah karakter religius (X), sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah terbentuknya kepemimpinan (Y). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan regresi linier sederhana dengan menggunakan program SPSS 25 for Windows. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh karakter religius terhadap jiwa kepemimpinan santri Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Juraimi Yogyakarta, diketahui Ha diterima pada angka kepercayaan 95% dengan nilai signifikansi lebih kecil dari α 0,05. Besarnya pengaruh karakter religius terhadap terbentuknya jiwa kepemimpinan adalah 98,9% yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai R Square sebesar 0,399 dan terdapat hubungan yang tinggi antara karakter religius dengan terbentuknya jiwa kepemimpinan dengan nilai R sebesar 0,851.
