Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Wordwall-based educational games in improving students’ learning enthusiasm at MI Zainul Anwar. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants consisted of teachers and students who were directly involved in the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of Wordwall creates a more interactive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment. Students showed increased attention, participation, and interest during the learning activities. Teachers acted as facilitators by providing guidance and feedback, which supported an effective and enjoyable learning atmosphere. However, the findings of this study cannot be generalized to all educational institutions, as they are influenced by school conditions, student characteristics, teacher readiness, and the availability of supporting facilities. Therefore, the use of Wordwall-based educational games can serve as an alternative learning medium to enhance students’ learning enthusiasm at MI Zainul Anwar, provided that it is adapted to the specific context and needs of the school.

Abstract

Early reading instruction is a fundamental step in developing elementary school students' literacy skills. The learning process needs to be tailored to the characteristics and workings of the child's brain to make learning more effective and meaningful. One approach that can be applied is the Brain-Based Learning model with the Flash Card-assisted phonics method, which involves multisensory activities in introducing letter sounds and letter symbols. This study aims to describe the application of the Brain-Based Learning model with the Flash Card-assisted phonics method in teaching reading to first-grade students at MI NU Tarbiyatul Islam. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the application of this learning model helped students recognize letter sounds, connect letter sounds with letter symbols, and read syllables and simple words. In addition, students appeared to be more active participants and the learning atmosphere became more interesting and conducive. Thus, the application of Brain-Based Learning with the Flash Card-assisted phonics method can support the early reading learning process in elementary school students.

Abstract

The Jum'at Inspiratif Program is a madrasa strategy to foster students' caring character through planned and integrated habituation within school activities. This study aims to describe: (1) planning, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation of the Jum'at Inspiratif Program in shaping students' caring character. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving the principal, teachers, and students as informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results show that: (1) program planning is in accordance with the madrasa's goals; (2) implementation runs consistently through charity, healthy living, and cleanliness activities involving all school members; and (3) evaluation is conducted through periodic observation of students' behavior and teacher reflection. This program shows changes in students' behavior, which are indicated by the emergence of habits such as giving charity voluntarily, actively maintaining health, and taking care of environmental cleanliness without being reminded. These findings indicate that the Inspirational Friday Program can be one of the strategies to foster caring character among students and has the potential to serve as a model for other madrasahs in developing students' character through structured and sustainable real-life activities.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Love-Based Curriculum and the deep learning approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of lower-grade students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, focusing on cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The study aims to determine the extent to which the integration of these two approaches relates to students’ conceptual understanding as well as the development of their attitudes and skills. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The analysis results indicate that the simultaneous implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum and deep learning approach has a significant relationship with learning outcomes, as evidenced by a Sig. F Change value of 0.002 and a contribution of 37.4% to the variation in student learning outcomes. The Love-Based Curriculum plays a role in creating a safe and comfortable learning environment, fostering empathy, care, and compassion among students, while the deep learning approach promotes the development of deep conceptual understanding through meaningful, reflective, and engaging learning. These findings suggest that integrating both approaches not only contributes to academic achievement but also supports the holistic development of students’ attitudes and skills.

Abstract

In the early twentieth century, pesantren developed madrasah education as a response to the colonial Dutch education system. Pesantren adopted formal instructional systems while maintaining their traditional characteristics, particularly the study of classical Islamic texts. This study aims to examine the process of establishment, management practices, curriculum, and student development programs of madrasah education at Pesantren Nurul Islam Jember. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that Pesantren Nurul Islam Jember originated from the establishment of the Nurul Islam Jember Islamic Education Foundation in 1985 and later developed into an integrated pesantren with collective leadership based on modern management principles. The curriculum implemented is an integrated curriculum encompassing religious, moral, general, and skills education through a combination of traditional and modern learning methods. Student development programs are carried out synergistically through the roles of the board of trustees, guidance and counseling services, student organizations, and institutional regulations. This study is expected to contribute both academically and practically to the development of pesantren education.

Abstract

The development of numeracy skills is a crucial foundation in basic education. This study aims to describe the improvement of children's arithmetic skills through the use of number card media at MI Islamiyah Yosowilangun Kidul, Lumajang Regency. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research subjects consisted of two second-grade teachers and 37 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model with source and technique triangulation applied to ensure data validity. The results indicate that number card media effectively helped 33 out of 37 students understand number concepts concretely, connect numeric symbols with real object quantities, and improve calculation accuracy in addition and subtraction operations involving numbers 1 to 50. This media also encouraged active participation, enthusiasm, and student confidence reflected in students' willingness to come to the front of the class, actively respond during learning activities, and sustain interest throughout the session. Supporting factors included the creativity of two second-grade teachers as well as whole-school support in the form of freedom to innovate, provision of facilities, and encouragement from the school principal. The main challenges were differences in students' arithmetic abilities in operations with larger numbers and limited time for individual guidance

Abstract

Integrating educational instruments into classroom dynamics is a crucial element for stimulating enthusiasm while sharpening students' cognitive competencies. In Islamic Education, specifically within the competency unit "Alhamdulillah, Aku Bisa Salat," indications of low motivation and learning outcomes that have not yet met expectations were found. To address these issues, an innovation in the form of interactive multimedia development based on the Lumi Education platform was introduced as a strategic solution to facilitate the assimilation of material. This research adopts the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) to produce a product that is both valid and applicable. The study involved a sample of 13 second-grade students at SDN 2 Landangan. Based on validation tests, media experts gave high praise with a score of 96%, while material experts provided a rating of 89%, both of which fall into the "Highly Feasible" category. Positive responses also came from the students, with a satisfaction percentage reaching 86%. This confirms that the use of Lumi Education is not only effective in helping students master the theory of worship at school but also provides practical readiness for implementing prayer procedures in community life, while improving student learning outcomes and motivation in a practical manner.
