Abstract

The study purposes to improve students' learning results in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes in IPAS at SDN Bondongan due to teacher-centered learning that does not consider the different learning abilities of students. This investigation is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, involving 27 fifth-grade students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Tests of learning outcomes and observations of students' educational activities were used to gather data. The average scores and the proportion of students who learned everything they needed to from cycle I to cycle II both significantly improved, according to the results. The classical completeness rose from 33.33% to 88.89%, while the average score rose from 50 to 80. In addition, the active participation and engagement of students in learning have also increased. This finding shows that the application of the PBL model combined with the TaRL approach is effective in improving IPAS learning results .

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between teacher motivation and student learning behavior at MI Ar-Roudloh, Indonesia. The decline in student participation in learning is suspected to be related to variations in teacher motivation. Using a quantitative method with an ex post facto correlational design, the study involved 20 teachers and 40 students as samples. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation of student learning outcomes, then analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed a positive and significant effect of teacher motivation on student learning activities (r = 0.712, p < 0.05). These findings support Self-Determination Theory (SDT), which emphasizes the role of intrinsic teacher motivation in creating a learning environment that fosters student engagement. Practically, these results can serve as a basis for madrasahs to enhance teacher motivation to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

The transformation of digital-based learning in elementary schools is an inevitable requirement in facing the dynamics of 21st-century education, including in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to explore strategies for utilizing Canva media by teachers to enhance student creativity in PAI learning at Cahaya Cendekia Elementary School. This study uses a qualitative case study approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and visual documentation. The results show that Canva is effectively utilized by teachers to create visually appealing Student Worksheets (LKPD), thereby stimulating students' attention and participation. Students' creativity develops through non-digital activities such as describing religious illustrations, composing narratives of prophets' stories, coloring, and verbally conveying moral messages. In addition, the use of Canva also had an impact on improving teacher professionalism and strengthening institutional identity through published visual documentation. Although students were not directly involved in using the application due to age and facility limitations, this approach succeeded in creating a contextual, enjoyable learning environment that encouraged the creative expression of religious values. Thus, Canva has become a relevant and transformative visual medium in the development of Islamic Education learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The success of mathematics learning is not only influenced by the quality of classroom learning, but also by factors outside the classroom, such as the intensity of home learning and student learning motivation. However, most sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Merembu showed low home learning intensity and lack of motivation to learn mathematics. This study aims to determine the effect of home learning intensity and learning motivation on the mathematics learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Merembu. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive statistical research. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 26.0. The data used were from questionnaire results and student mathematics test scores. The results showed that home learning intensity and learning motivation did not significantly influence students' mathematics learning outcomes. This is indicated by a probability value of 0.172 > 0.05. This finding indicates that these two variables have not made a significant contribution to mathematics learning outcomes. This condition is thought to be influenced by other factors, namely teacher learning methods, students' basic mathematical abilities, a less conducive home learning environment, and limited guidance from parents. Therefore, schools and teachers need to implement more innovative learning strategies and increase cooperation with parents.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of the dehumanization of elementary school teachers’ roles in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through the humanistic philosophical perspectives of Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow, and Paulo Freire. Using a qualitative method based on library research and content analysis of various recent scholarly sources, the study shows that while the presence of AI in elementary education can provide efficiency, personalization, and administrative convenience, it also has the potential to weaken the quality of human relationships that form the fundamental foundation of elementary education. Forms of dehumanization in the context of elementary education can be observed in the reduction of empathetic interactions, the loss of personal touch in learning, the shift of pedagogical authority toward automated systems, and the increasing emphasis on quantitative metrics that neglect students’ emotional needs and self-actualization. From a humanistic perspective, this study emphasizes that elementary school teachers continue to play a crucial role as facilitators of authentic relationships, moral and emotional guides, and drivers of students’ critical consciousness. Therefore, the integration of AI in elementary education should be directed in a humanistic manner, ensuring that technology functions as a supportive tool to strengthen—rather than replace—the essence of humanization in modern education.
