Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of working students in undergoing hybrid learning, which is increasingly being implemented in higher education institutions. Working students often face challenges in dividing their time between work and study, which can lead to dual role conflicts. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation, then analysed using thematic analysis to identify relevant patterns of experience. The results show that the main challenges faced by working students include time management, limited access to technology, and schedule conflicts between work and lectures. However, support from the work environment and campus institutions, as well as strategies such as online group learning, help them overcome these obstacles. These findings emphasise the importance of inclusive campus policies, flexible class schedules, and the provision of asynchronous learning materials. In practical terms, this study recommends collaboration between the world of work and higher education to create a learning environment that supports the academic success of working students without disrupting their professional performance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital Pop Up Book learning medium based on Open Ended Problems to improve students' mathematical concept comprehension skills in the subject of cubes in Grade VII at SMP Negeri 9 Sungai Raya. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model modified into three stages, namely Define, Design, and Develop. Research data was obtained through validation by subject matter experts, media experts, and language experts, as well as through questionnaires for teachers and students and learning outcome tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. Validation data was analysed using percentages to assess the validity of the media, while practicality was determined based on the responses of teachers and students regarding the ease of use and attractiveness of the media. The effectiveness of the media was measured by comparing the average pretest and posttest scores to see the improvement in students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The results of the study indicate that the Open Ended Problem-based digital Pop Up Book is highly valid in terms of content, appearance, and language, and is considered practical and easy to use in the learning process. In addition, this media has been proven to be effective in improving students' understanding of cube concepts through open-ended problem-solving activities that stimulate critical and creative thinking. Thus, this media is suitable for use as an innovative alternative in interactive mathematics learning in junior high schools

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of students in Grade IX Informatics at SMP Negeri 29 Padang. Initial observations showed that most students were still passive, lacked enthusiasm, their learning outcomes were below the minimum competency standard, and the learning process tended to be teacher-centred. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, with class IX.8 as the experimental class and IX.6 as the control class, each consisting of 31 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of 25 multiple-choice questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests and Mann Whitney U non-parametric tests. The results showed that the average score of the experimental class was 77.54, which was higher than that of the control class, which was 66. The Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05 indicated a significant effect. Thus, the application of the NHT learning model has an effect on improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in primary schools still tends to be teacher-centred, resulting in students being less actively involved and experiencing difficulties in understanding complex concepts. Based on observations, the low level of student enthusiasm is influenced by the limited use of media, which is still restricted to textbooks and conventional media. This study aims to develop more engaging multimedia learning materials to help students understand the material in an easier and more enjoyable way. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) through the stages of needs analysis, design, development, expert validation, limited testing, and product dissemination. The media was developed using Microsoft PowerPoint and can be accessed via Android and Windows devices. Data were obtained through validity and practicality questionnaires, which were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the media was classified as ‘highly valid’ with a validity level of 98% in terms of material and 97% and 94% in terms of media, and was classified as ‘highly practical’ with a practicality score of 97% for teachers and 97.5% for students. Thus, this learning multimedia is suitable for use in improving students' focus and understanding of animal food chain material.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of Indonesian among Generation Z and its relevance to the function of the national language in the digital age. As a generation of digital natives, Generation Z presents both challenges and opportunities in efforts to preserve Indonesian. This study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation of linguistic activities on social media, and analysis of digital documents. The data were analysed thematically through a process of reduction, categorisation, and meaning extraction to identify distinctive patterns of language use. The results show that Generation Z's language practices are characterised by linguistic creativity, code-mixing between Indonesian and foreign languages, and the emergence of new forms of digital expression. A gap was also found between normative language policies and the more dynamic and flexible language practices of Generation Z. The implications of this research emphasise the importance of developing adaptive, participatory, and digitally-based language policy and development models so that Indonesian remains relevant and competitive amid global disruption

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using flannel board syllable cards on the early reading skills of first-grade students at SDN Paninggaran, Kuningan Regency. Reading skills are basic abilities that involve thinking processes, symbol recognition, and meaning comprehension, which play an important role in the development of children's literacy skills from an early age. This study used an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The independent variable in this study was flannel board syllable cards, while the dependent variable was early reading skills. The research subjects consisted of 21 first-grade students at SDN Paninggaran, who were selected using total sampling. Data were collected through reading tests before and after the treatment. Data analysis was performed using a t-test to determine the difference between the pretest and posttest results. The results showed that there was a significant effect of using flannel board syllable cards on improving students' early reading skills, with a t-value of 9.61 greater than the t-table value of 2.06. These findings indicate that the use of flannel board syllable cards is effective in helping students recognise syllables, improve reading fluency, and foster an interest in learning to read from an early stage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties in Bahasa Indonesia experienced by high school students as well as the contributing factors. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students face difficulties in four language skills reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In reading, students struggle to understand the main ideas and the content of texts In writing, numerous spelling errors and poorly structured paragraphs were found; In speaking, students show a lack of confidence and limited vocabulary while in listening, students are often unfocused, making it difficult to grasp important information. These difficulties are influenced by internal factors such as low reading interest, lack of learning motivation, and limited vocabulary, as well as external factors such ad monotonous teaching methods and an unsupportive learning environment. Therefore, more varied learning strategies and the strengthening of literacy culture in schools are needed to improve students language proficiency

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to determine whether there are differences in the contribution of professional help-seeking behavior to mental health status based on the level of mental health literacy in the community's work area, Community Health Center X, Sungai Penuh City. This study was quantitative. The research approach used was correlational. Correlational analysis is a quantitative data analysis technique used to analyze two or more variables and examine the relationship between them. Based on the results of the study, it was found that professional help-seeking behavior did not significantly influence the mental health status of the community in the Community Health Center X, Sungai Penuh City, whether among high, medium, or low mental health literacy groups. This means that professional help-seeking behavior did not predict an individual's mental health status. Mental health literacy also did not strengthen either variable. Therefore, it can be concluded that neither professional help-seeking behavior nor mental health literacy are dominant factors in predicting mental health status, so other, more complex variables are needed to predict mental health status
