Abstract

A business combination is the merger of two or more separate companies into one entity with another company, enabling control over the operational activities. Consolidation is often employed as an alternative to expand and enlarge the business market, consequently impacting the company's profitability. This study aims to analyze the effect of company consolidation on profitability levels, utilizing financial ratios such as Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), and Return On Investment (ROI) as indicators. It employs a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data derived from the consolidated financial statements of Semen Indonesia Tbk. companies. The study compares account items and incorporates literature reviews focusing on financial performance data. The analysis reveals that prior to consolidation, PT Semen Baturaja Tbk. displayed an ROA level of 0.43%, ROE of 0.45%, and ROI of 0.27, all of which were below 1 (<1). However, after consolidation at PT Semen Baturaja Tbk., there was a noticeable increase in the company's ROA, ROE, and ROI, reaching 2.21%, 2.81%, and 1.82%, respectively.

The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of product quality, service quality, and price on customer loyalty towards WARMINDO among Vocational School students at Gadjah Mada University. The research focuses on Vocational School students as the target population. A survey was conducted among 80 students, utilizing questionnaires, and the collected data was processed using probit and logit methods. The test results indicate that in this study, there exists a variable denoted as "Y," which represents the level of interest among Vocational School students at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) towards WARMINDO. Independent variables, including interest level, frequency of student visits to WARMINDO, food prices at WARMINDO, and the quality of service provided, have a positive influence on the loyalty of UGM students. Conversely, variables such as expenditure and satisfaction with food at WARMINDO do not significantly affect the loyalty of Vocational School students at UGM.

Abstract

Cashless transactions offer the advantages of simpler, faster, and safer transactions compared to non-cash transactions, and can increase economic activity in a country. To support digital payments, BI released QRIS as a national QR code standard. The utilization of QRIS as a payment channel has increased every year. This research focuses on the strategy of Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office in developing non-cash payments through QRIS for MSMEs in Jakarta, the impact of non-cash payment development strategies through QRIS, and constraints on non-cash payment development strategies. This research is a field study using a descriptive qualitative research approach. The results of this study show that there are several strategies including conducting socialization, including MSMEs in BI strategic events, connecting with Perumda Pasar Jaya traditional markets which were later designated as S.I.A.P QRIS markets, and receiving complaints about QRIS. As an impact of the strategy of developing cashless payments through QRIS, the findings of this study show how QRIS shortens the payment process and makes transactions more secure for both merchants and consumers. On the other hand, people's dependence on cash transactions and public understanding of payments through QRIS are the main challenges faced by Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office in implementing non-cash payments through QRIS for MSMEs in Jakarta.

Abstract

One of the sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the banking industry, where social and economic restrictions imposed to control the spread of the virus have impacted various aspects of bank operations, especially lending. In this scenario, banks face new challenges in maintaining liquidity, managing credit risk, and ensuring continuous lending to customers in need. Thus, this study aims to analyze the extent to which specific factors, such as third-party funds, funding liquidity, and credit risk, influence lending by banks in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method employed is a quantitative approach involving panel data regression analysis. This approach enables researchers to explore the cause-and-effect relationships among the variables under scrutiny. The data utilized consists of secondary data from banks categorized as BUKU III and BUKU IV, representing a certain size and complexity of banks. The data was collected during the uncertain period of 2020-2021, marked by the pandemic's impact. The analysis revealed that third-party funds positively influence banks' lending during the COVID-19 pandemic. This implies that the greater the amount of third-party funds held by banks, the more likely they are to extend credit to customers. However, funding liquidity and credit risk exert a negative influence on lending. This suggests that lower funding liquidity and higher credit risk make it more challenging for banks to provide credit to customers during the pandemic.
