This study applied Terry Eagleton's Marxist sociological literary theory to find the relations of production, economic structure and social behavior in society called infrastructure which has the essential function to legitimize social classes. Thus, the concept of ideas and consciousness, which also called superstructures, are the ideas of the authority. This research found forms of social relations that cause class struggle. The alienation of the people as a group of the proletariat was the result of oppression by the Shaykh Abbas as a bourgeoisie from the ownership of the entire village's wealth. Khalil, as Marxist hegemony, tried to build awareness of the people who have been exploited to fight to live without oppression.

This study is conceptual research. It outlines the integration of collaborative model and discovery methods in language teaching. This concept has an advantage that it stimulates students to construct new knowledge through a collaborative and explorative way. This study discusses about the model of collaborative discovery method in which this model involves students to explore the knowledge both individually and in groups. The collaboration of individual and group study will encourage students’ active participation in learning. The model of collaborative discovery method becomes an ideal choice in language teaching.

Problems of pronunciation and meaning are very numerous in contemporary linguistic studies which have been studied for their history since the time of the classical Arabs. The problem of pronunciation and meaning in terms of art and technique has been tried to be analyzed. The same sentence can have different meanings due to differences in pronunciation intonation, context, situations and conditions of speech. A word continues to develop according to the development of human thought and needs and gives rise to new meanings. The problem of dilalah can be seen in terms of musytarak, taddad and taraduf.

This study examines the representation of women in the short stories Madj'u Al-Urus by Khalil Ghibran and Qissatul Fathiyyah Al-Misriyyah by Nawal As-Sa'dawi. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research is a comparative literature study with the help of feminism theory as the analytical knife. The results of this study are the self-image of women from the physical aspect depicted in the short story Fathiyyah Al-Misriyyah, a woman who has grown up is shown to experience changes in herself, namely biologically, namely being able to get pregnant, give birth and breastfeed. Meanwhile, in the short story Madj'u Al-'Urus, women are described as someone who likes to show off their body shape. In terms of the psychological aspect, women are weak figures, they experience acts of violence that make them look like crazy people. Meanwhile, Kahlil Gibran did not explain in detail the consequences of the violence he experienced. Based on the social aspect, women equally get help from other people.

This research is an interdisciplinary study involving the fields of literature and political science on musical collaboration entitled Il?hu ats-Tsaurah. This paper uncovers the relationship between the musical collaboration and geopolitical issues and the worldviews of the musicians involved in the conflict. This research will use the theory of Genetic Structuralism to dissect the contents of the lyrics in the Il?hu ats-Tsaurah music collaboration. The results of the study show that the geopolitical issue of the Middle East is one of the factors causing the prolonged conflict and the world view of the musicians shows their disappointment as an Arab nation which is now increasingly divided due to differences in race, religion, and country. Through this musical collaboration, the musicians also urge the Arabs to unite and not just be silent when they find out that their brothers are being oppressed.

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa dominasi prefensi dalil syair yang diadopsi Si>bawayh dalam konteks formulasi kaidah nahwu. Argumen ini didasari atas fakta yang menunjukkan bahwa pada setiap tema pembahasan nahwu yang dikonstruksi Si>bawayh dalam karyanya, selalu dilegitimasi dengan dalil syair (shawa>hid al-nah}w al-shi‘riyyah). Namun demikian, polemik posisi syair sebagai produk budaya verbal masyarakat Arab, mengundang perdebatan tajam disebabkan adanya diferensiasi interpretasi di kalangan ahli nahwu akan validitas dan otoritas syair yang layak diadopsi oleh Si>bawayh dalam proses pembukuan dan pembakuan kaidah nahwu. Dalam konteks tersebut, penulis hendak memaparkan argumentasi rasional, mengapa Sibawayhi lebih cenderung mengunggulkan syair ketimbang hierarki otoritas dalil nahwu yang lainnya. Perdebatan posisi syair di kalangan sarjana nahwu, berimplikasi melahirkan beragam ijtihad linguistik yang dapat dijadikan sebagai fondasi epistemologi dalam pengembangan disiplin ilmu nahwu. Kecendrungan mengadopsi syair dalam perumusan kaidah nahwu, menggambarkan trend dan distingsi tersendiri bagaimana konstruk nalar lingguistik Si>bawayhi terbangun. Trend kajian liguistiknya, seakan menitik beratkan typologi berpikir antropo lingusitik sentrik, prototype nalar linguistik demikian banyak dijumpai dalam magnum opusnya “al-Kita>b” dikenal “al-Qu’a>n al-Nah}w” adalah karya monumental sepajang sejarah kajian nahwu. Dalam tulisan ini, analisis dan pembacaannya menggunakan teksto-linguistik merupakan bagian dari ilmu lingustik diperkuat dengan analisis historis. selanjutnya data dianalisis secara deskriftik analitik untuk dapat menyajikan perspektif ulama nahwu secara komprehensif tentang otoritas syair dalam perumusan kaidah nahwu.

This study aims to find out how the problems and problems of learning Arabic in modern times are. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. And reports related to this issue. The data analysis technology used in this research is inductive data analysis. Building on the results of the research, the data found is the presence of Arabic in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This is because there are still many teachers and lecturers who use the old method in the Arabic learning process and maintain it, reducing the attention and motivation to learn Arabic among the general public and Arabic language specialist students in particular.

This article discusses speech acts in the animated film Salahuddin al-Ayyubi. This research method is descriptive qualitative. By using the method of listening and recording the data in the form of words and sentences in this film were collected and analyzed. The formal object as a scalpel in this research is pragmatics, namely the theory of illocutionary speech acts. The results showed that in the film Salahudduin al-Ayyubi episode 1 there were 37 illocutionary speech acts. Judging from the type, of the 37 illocutionary speech acts, there are 4 types of illocutionary acts consisting of 22 directive illocutionary speech acts, 6 assertive illocutions, 7 commissive illocutions and 8 expressive illocutions. Judging from the literal and direct illocutionary speech acts, of the 37 illocutionary speech acts there are 15 literal and direct speech acts, 1 indirect and literal speech act, 9 literal and indirect speech acts, and 12 non-literal and indirect speech acts.

This research is aim to tell the meaning of one of a poetry written by a famous poet from Syria under the title Khamsu Ras??ila Il? Umm?. The poem is telling about the deepest feeling of a longing to the lovely homeland. A man who did a long journey to foreign countries due to several conditions needs to recall the memory about his homeland. His homeland he called ‘umm?’ (mother) never leave his heart even he is out of his homeland as his own mother. The poetry has analyzed with semiotic theory that used to know the meaning of meaning of a poetry. There are three stages to analyze this poetry in this research, the first is to search semantic indirection that used by the poet. Semantic indirection is caused by three things, they are displacing of meaning, distorting of meaning, and creating of meaning. After finding the semantic indirection, then doing a semiotic reading that consisting of heuristic reading that as its first level reading and hermeneutic reading as an interpretation by considering the semantic indirection. The last stage is to determine the matrix or keyword of this poetry. The result of this research reflects an expression of a man who had a deep feeling of longing to his homeland when he did live abroad.

In teaching and learning languages, it is common to use code-switching. Code-switching help speaker and hearer share the ability to speak more than one language. This research was focused on the code-switching that was done by the lecturer, the most common type that appeared in the classroom interaction and the function of the code-switching found in the analysis. Descriptive qualitative research was applied in this research which the data got from the interaction of the lecturer and students in the classroom in teaching and learning English for Arabic students. Based on the analysis, in the classroom interaction, the three types of code-switching was found; tag-switching, inter-sentential switching and intra-sentential (Romaine, 1995). The most common type found in the interaction was intra-sentential switching. The used of code-switching in the classroom interaction was to improve language skills, give clarification, emphasis the topic, and make good relation with interlocutor that was the Arabic students. Both teachers and students in this situation hold positive attitudes in doing code switching.
