Abstract

This study explores the phenomenon of couples who marry at different ages with the aim of knowing how the communication behavior of husband and wife in the Mandailing culture in marriages with a large age difference in the Mandailing culture. There are many differences in marriage with a large age difference between husband and wife which tends to make it difficult for couples to unite thoughts, ideas and opinions. This will be a challenge for the household so that it can make a household that is sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. Source of data obtained from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were used through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation with three husband and wife couples with a much older age difference than their husbands with a distance of five years, seven years and ten years. The results of research conducted in Sopoonggang Baru Hamlet show that different age marriages are much older for wives than husbands, but there are problems that often occur in domestic life, including: difficult to control emotions, relationships decreased sexual relations between husband and wife, jealousy, differences in perspectives and economic problems. To solve problems that occur in marriages of different ages, the following methods are used by informants to solve problems in the household, namely: discussing and ignoring each other. There are several things that couples with different ages do in building household harmony including being honest, being open to each other, trusting each other and staying closer to Allah SWT.

Abstract

Telkomsel is currently improving and strengthening their brand by releasing independent products and products that are widely used by people today. In order for the sales level to reach the target, Telkomsel requires an effective marketing communication strategy in order to satisfy and define consumers. In this study the researchers chose the Halo card product at PT. Telecommunications Seluler Medan Marelan regional office, which can be seen in their high level of sales of their products, one of which is Telkomsel Halo. Based on this background, the question arises how the marketing communication strategy is used in marketing Telkomsel Halo products and what is consumer behavior towards the Halo Telkomsel product. So in this study the aim is to describe the marketing communication strategies used by Telkomsel in marketing Halo products in order to attract and set consumer targets and to know consumer behavior towards Telkomsel Halo products. This type of research is qualitative with a symbolic interaction approach where the data is determined through observation, interviews, and documentation directly in the field. The theory used is integrated marketing communication (IMC) theory. The results of this study can be concluded that the marketing communication strategy used in marketing Telkomsel Halo products at the Medan Marelan regional office uses the theory of integrated marketing communication marketing strategy which consists of 6 components, namely advertising, direct marketing, interactive marketing, sales promotion, public relations and personal selling. In addition, several factors were found that influence consumer behavior towards Telkomsel Halo products, namely internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how interpersonal communication between customers and prospective customers is in recommending EMJE Wedding Organizer and to find out the obstacles in interpersonal communication between customers and prospective customers in recommending EMJE Wedding Organizer. This research was conducted in Hamlet 1, Punden Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa District. This study uses a qualitative approach that leads to a descriptive method. This study uses the theory of interpersonal communication initiated by De Vito. Collecting data in this study is by way of interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Examination of the validity of the data in this study with seriousness in observation and triangulation. The results of this study found that the communication process went well between customers and prospective customers. By using De Vito's theory to describe the elements in interpersonal communication so that it is clear to know the communication process between customers, namely the existence of messages, feedback (feedback), feedforward, context and interpersonal competence. There are several things that customers do in the process of communicating with potential customers, namely: (a) forming perceptions of self-quality, (b) equating mindsets, and (c) helping to make choices. The communication process in recommending also has obstacles, namely, (a) language differences, (b) delays in understanding the contents of the message, and (c) time and distance. This study uses the theory of interpersonal communication by De Vito, which is in accordance with the results of the study namely, there are elements in the interpersonal communication process and there are obstacles in the process.

Abstract

Parents are the most important part in exchanging information especially in learning. Parents as the first madrasah as a place to educate and guide children must pay attention to the growth and development of children as a nation's regeneration. Abstract

Managing broadcast programs on radio is not an easy thing, but it is a challenge that must be faced by radio companies. Moreover, managing a radio program means also managing its human resources. However, the success of the program also depends on the quality of the people working in that field. Therefore, good management is needed to realize a successful program. This study examines how the management and obstacles in the management are carried out by Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Medan City through planning, organizing, implementing and supervising which are applied to the Suara Creativity Broadcasting Program (Pro 2). This study aims to determine the management and obstacles in the creative sound broadcast program (Pro 2) at RRI Medan in maintaining its existence. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods and data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses the theory of communication management put forward by George R. Terry. The results of this study indicate that planning as the first step of the program has been going well where the determination of a program idea, broadcast scheduling, and determining broadcast topics have been well formulated. The stage of organizing management is by preparing information to be conveyed through the program that has been prepared. The implementation phase is carried out on air and also publishes information through social media. The monitoring phase is carried out by means of evaluation, in the evaluation of things that are likely to occur can be changed or prevented. As well as obstacles in the implementation of broadcasting are the lack of innovation, the pressure of deadlines and weather conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between interpersonal communication between waiters and customer satisfaction at Jingktak Chicken Resto. The theory used in this study is the theory of interpersonal communication, and the theory of buyer satisfaction. The research method used is a correlational quantitative research method that seeks the relationship between variable X (interpersonal communication of waiters) and variable Y (with buyer satisfaction). Correlational method is a method that aims to determine the relationship of a variable with other variables. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and accidental sampling. The researcher first determines the criteria for respondents and then selects respondents who coincidentally meet and match these characteristics. The population in this study were buyers of the Tanjungbalai Jingkrak Chicken Restaurant. Based on the sample calculation using the Slovin formula, a total sample of 97 people was obtained. In this study, the samples were buyers who visited the Jingkrak Chicken Restaurant, Tanjungbalai. Data collection techniques were carried out in this study in three ways, namely observation by going directly to the field, questionnaires by distributing questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study were single table analysis, cross table analysis, and hypothesis testing through the Correlation Coefficient formula by Spearman using the SPSS 26 application. The results of this study obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.564. Based on the Guilford scale used, the coefficient shows a significant relationship between interpersonal communication between waiters and customer satisfaction at Prancing Chicken Resto. Then the result of the coefficient of determination is 31.8%, the factor that influences the interpersonal communication relationship between the waiter and the buyer's satisfaction, while 68.2% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication will never be separated from humans with cultural or religious backgrounds, if communication cannot work effectively then conflicts can arise between community groups. So that this does not happen, it is necessary to instill mutual tolerance. The focus of the problem in this research is how the patterns of interpersonal communication in creating tolerance between religious communities in Parapat Sub-District, Simalungun Regency and whether there are obstacles to patterns of interpersonal communication in creating inter-religious tolerance in Parapat Sub-District, Simalungun Regency. This research uses a qualitative type of descriptive approach. The subjects in this study are people who live in Parapat Village, Simalungun Regency, in this case I took 6 residents using a purposive technique, namely with predetermined criteria. The theory used in this study is social penetration and self-disclosure. Which this theory explains how the process of relating to other people and self-disclosure in order to establish good interactions and avoid misunderstandings. The results of this study indicate that the communication pattern used in Parapat Village is an interactional communication pattern or a reciprocal relationship in communication. Obstacles Patterns of interpersonal communication in Parapat Village are language and habitual barriers felt by immigrant communities. But so far the community has been able to overcome it by interacting properly and using language that has been agreed beforehand.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Marketing Communication Strategy in Increasing Advertising Revenue (Case Study of Radio RAU 105 FM Padang Sidimpuan). The purpose of this study is how the marketing communication strategy is applied to Radio RAU 105 FM Padang Sidimpuan to get increased advertising. The theory used is Communication Theory, Communication Mix Theory and Communication Strategy Theory. This study uses a qualitative research model, namely a descriptive approach. Retrieval of data used is observation, interviews and documentation. This research has seven informants including the person in charge of radio, main director, head of administration and finance, radio broadcaster, advertiser and the public. Based on the research that has been carried out, Radio RAU 105 FM Padang Sidimpuan uses a marketing strategy to increase revenue, especially in advertising. The promotion model used is to carry out social activities to the community, give confidence to business actors by broadcasting featured programs and working with potential advertisers at affordable prices and more flexible confirmation of cooperation. The frequency range of Radio RAU 105 FM Padang Sidimpuan is still limited so that it can influence potential advertisers to work with the radio. Another factor that affects the increase in revenue through advertising is the income of business actors and the economic improvement obtained by business actors.

Abstract

This study is entitled Analysis of Interpersonal Communication Patterns of Parents and Children to Shape Children's Personalities in Sidiangkat Village, Dairi Regency. How interpersonal communication patterns of parents and children to shape children's personalities and how different communication patterns of parents to the eldest and youngest children. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach that aims to understand a phenomenon experienced by the research subject, techniques used in data collection, observation methods, interview methods, and documentation methods. The theories used are analysis theory and social penetration theory. The results of the study can be concluded that parents adhere to the pattern of authorithative interpersonal communication, namely communication that refers to the climate of social relations in the family, the application of rules, parental recognition, giving rewards or punishments or can be called by responding to all children's actions. Communication differences between parents and children unconsciously inevitably occur. In accordance with ethical theory, a person will use different messages depending on the person's perception of the situation and the listener.
