Abstract

Student learning success is determined not only by the way teachers teach at school, but also by the active role of parents in supporting the learning process. This study aims to measure the impact of collaboration between parents and teachers on improving student achievement. From various articles analyzed, relevant studies published between 2020 and 2025 were selected. The results indicate that regular communication, parental involvement in school activities, and collaboration between teachers and parents in monitoring and guiding students' learning progress significantly contribute to their academic achievement. Thus, organized and structured collaboration between families and schools can increase student learning participation and improve academic and non-academic achievement. The results of this study emphasize the importance of clear communication mechanisms, parental involvement programs, and joint planning between teachers and families to optimize student learning outcomes. Some recommended practical implementations include communication training for teachers and parents, regular meeting schedules, and joint evaluation of learning strategies used.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of income on the economic conditions of fishing communities on the coast of Sungai Duri I Village, Bengkayang Regency. Fishermen are a community group that relies on marine products as their primary source of livelihood. However, fluctuations in catches, weather, and access to production facilities often affect the stability of their income. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field observations and in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using surveys, interviews, and documentation to examine the relationship between income and economic indicators of fishing communities, such as consumption levels, education, and access to health services. The results show that fishermen's income has a significant influence on improving family economic conditions, although there are still structural obstacles that need to be addressed. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as a consideration for local governments in designing more effective fishermen empowerment policies.

Abstract

Literature learning at the elementary school level plays a strategic role in developing students’ language skills, literacy competence, and character formation. However, current practices indicate that literature learning in elementary schools has not been optimally implemented. Instructional activities are still dominated by mechanical approaches such as reading texts and answering questions, which limit students’ opportunities to experience meaningful literary appreciation. This study aims to examine the current condition of literature learning in elementary schools, identify effective contextual instructional strategies, and analyze the challenges faced by teachers in implementing innovative literature learning. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing relevant national accredited journals and reputable international publications. The review process includes literature collection, selection based on relevance and recency, content analysis, and synthesis of research findings. The results show that literature learning in elementary schools faces several challenges, including limited instructional strategies, low teacher creativity, insufficient learning resources, and minimal use of innovative media. Nevertheless, various studies indicate that innovative approache—such as Literature-Based Instruction, integration of literature with ecoliteracy, utilization of digital and game-based learning media, and local wisdom–based models—are effective in enhancing students’ engagement, literacy skills, and character development. Therefore, a strategic shift toward aesthetic and experiential literature learning is necessary. Strengthening teacher professional competence, enriching learning resources, and optimizing educational technology are essential to creating meaningful literature learning experiences that support literacy and character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract

Effective communication between teachers and students is a crucial foundation for determining learning outcomes and is integral to the transformative education process. This communication function goes beyond ordinary instruction, serving as a bridge that builds academic understanding and emotional support. Open communication encourages students to ask questions and provide feedback, allowing teachers to adjust their teaching. Meanwhile, empathetic communication creates a psychologically safe classroom environment and teaches interpersonal soft skills. This study used a literature review method, selecting 20 relevant articles from 200 articles found, focusing on publications from 2020 to 2025. The results show that effective communication is vital for building good teacher-student relationships and supporting learning. This communication is characterized by a two-way flow of information, facilitating understanding, and changing attitudes. Its implementation is based on three foundations: seven fundamental elements of communication, five principles of quality assurance (such as clarity and accuracy), and five strategic approaches. Effective communication significantly improves student learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. It serves as a catalyst in realizing the holistic educational goal of producing a generation that is knowledgeable, skilled, and virtuous. Communication barriers (different perceptions, emotional reactions) can be overcome through an integrated framework of teacher professionalism, including the development of pedagogical competencies, differentiated learning, and a culture of reflection. Thus, investing in improving teachers' educational communication competencies is a strategic step towards creating a generation that is intelligent and has strong character
