Abstract

AbstractThe research was based on the lack of students’ writing skill. The evidence was seen from the students writing achievement which were mostly below 80 – minimum passing grade score – where the students were less skilled in writing their ideas. Problem in this research is “how is the use, evaluation to see the achievement, and learning constraints by using discovery learning model with audiovisual media?” This research aims to investigate the use, evaluation to see the achievement, and learning constraints by using discovery learning model with audiovisual to enhance writing ability in developing saga into short story. Method used was descriptive with Classroom Action Research (CAR) model. Technique used was indirect technique namely observation and documentary study. Tools of collecting data were observation guide namely IPKKG 1 and IPKG 2, and student’s scoring sheet. Analysis technique used was qualitative descriptive. The results, showed average score in cycle I was 48,64, while in cycle II, the average score was 71,70, and in cycle III, the average score was 83,58. Thus, the writing ability in developing saga into short story by using discovery model learning with audiovisual media is increased from cycle I, II, and III.          .  Key words: discovery learning model, saga, short story, writing ability.

Abstract

AbstractThis research has purpose of this  study  was to determine and describe  the level of  writing ability in terms of structural aspects which include titlle, orientation, events, and re orientation. Linguistic aspects conjunction, reference word, adverb of time and verbs. This research uses descriptive method with quantitative research. The technic of the tests. Choosing sample is randomly The measurement of data collected is the ovestions of writing biographical text with the topic determined in advance. The research result of the ability of biographical text by students  class X SMA Negeri 8 in Pontianak that as follow: 1. The ability of writing the titlle of biographical text with percentage 96% are classifred good. 2. The ability in using orientation with percentage 100% are classified very good. 3. The ability in using events, with percentage 100%  are classified very good. 4. The ability in using re orientation with percentage 100%  are classified very good. 5. The ability in using conjunction with percentage 51% are classifred good. 6. The ability in using reference word  with percentage 13% are classifred good. 7. The ability in using adverb of time with percentage 5% are classifred good  8. The ability in using verbs with percentage 59% are classifred good. Based on the research has  done, specially ability in writing the content of biographical text with the percentage 67%, it is expceted that the teachers as educators can be more fokus to improving the ability of students to be able to give better performance.Keywords: Biographical Text, The Ability, Write,

Abstract

Abstract This researcher is motivated by the idea of the importance of extracting oral literature (mantra). The general problem in this study is the environment of mantra imaging, mantra diction, rhyming mantra, meaning in mantra, and implementation plans for learning Indonesian. This research used descriptive method; the form of this research was qualitative and used a structural approach. The data source in this study was the informant who tells the mantra. The results were as follows. (1) The mantra imaging environment includes, areas and situations of using mantra in Balenggang rituals. (2) The rhymes used is full rhyme, absolute rhyme, and assonance rhyme. Absolute rhymes have 12 words, and rhymes with assonance are 4 words. Based on the location and line of sentences there are three rhymes, namely: initial rhymes have 3 words, middle rhymes have 5 words, and final rhymes have 3 words. (3) Common words in Balenggang mantra are 4 words, and special words in Balenggang mantra are 6 words. (4) The meaning of the mantra includes religious meaning (religious), social meaning and the meaning of personality (individual). (5) Balenggang mantra can be used as literary learning material in junior high school.  Key Words: Mantra Balenggang, Meaning, Structure.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe characters and characterizations which include characters position, relationships and functions between characters, the meaning of texts and implementation in learning Indonesian language and literature. The method in this research is descriptive with qualitative form. The approach used is structural approach. The data collection technique used is documentary study. The data source is a novel Inteligensi Embun Pagi by Dee Lestari. The results of the study are as follows (1) the characters position is a) Gio as Expedition Companies owner and The Asko’s Key Harbinger coded Mist b) Alfa as Andromeda Capital employee and The Asko’s Dream Harbinger coded wave. c) Zarah as a natural photographer and the Asko’s Gate Harbinger coded Particle. d) Elektra as electrapops owner, electric therapists, and the Asko’s Memory Harbinger coded Lightning. e) Bodhi as a backpacker, tattoo artist and The Asko’s Lattice Harbinger Coded Root. (2) The Characters Relations and functions are harbingers who come from the same Cluster called Asko. Their function is to strengthen each character position. (3) The meaning of the text is the Philosophy of Buddhism. Abstract

AbstractThis paper analyzes how the characters in a novel “Posesif” by Lucia Priandarini face both internal and external conflicts that occur and discusses the implementation of the results of research into the curriculum of Indonesian language learning at the second semester of XII senior high school. This study aims to describe (1) internal and external conflicts experienced by the characters in the novel titled “Posesif” by Lucia Priandarini, and (2) plans to implement the results of research into Indonesian language learning curricula at the second semester of XII senior high school. This research was conducted in a qualitative form presented descriptively with a behavioristic literature psychology approach. The researcher acted as a key instrument in data collection, with data collection techniques using documentary studies. Based on the results, the internal conflicts of the characters include anxiety, disappointment, anger, regret, sadness, fear, happy, longing, hesitation, amazement, curiosity, shock, wonder, annoyance, suspicion, offence, shame, and aversion. The external conflicts include disagreements, tensions, clashes, debates, and disputes. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teaching materials by Indonesian Language teachers in the second semester of XII senior high school on competencies 3.9 and 4.9.Keywords: Conflicts, Characters, Novel

Abstract

AbstractMantra is one of the old types of Malay poetry believed to contain supernatural powers and supernatural powers. The reason the researcher chose the title of the research Structure, Meaning, and Function of the Medical Spell of Bengkayang Regency Malay Community based on several considerations. Common problems in this study are the structure (rhyme and diction), the meaning, and function of the treatment mantra.  Theories used in this research are oral literary theory, mantra, mantra structure, mantra meaning, mantra function, translation theory. This research method is descriptive, the form of this research is qualitative research, this research approach is a semiotic structural approach. Based on the results of data analysis of the Malay community medical treatment spells in Bentarat Hamlet Bengkayang Regency, there are rhymes according to the words in the words include: full rhyme, absolute rhyme, half rhyme, rhyme alliteration, and rhyme asonance, Rima according to its location in sentence lines which include: initial rhymes, and final rhymes. Dictations in medical spells are denotative words and connotative words. The meaning of mantra medicine is religious meaning. Abstract

 AbstractThe background of this research was the writer’s interest to explore the heroic values in Roman Larasati by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Theories used in this research were the definition of romance, intrinsic and extrinsic elements in romance, heroic values, and literature learning. Method used in this research is descriptive in qualitative form. Results analysis found were the elements of self-sacrfice, beliefs of Pancasila and UUD 1945, national conscience as heroic value, and the implementation in learning. The implementation of this research was particularly in the literature learning in high school grade XII semester 2 at basic competence 3.9 and 4.9. Hopefully the results of this research were beneficial as reference for teachers in teaching literature at school. From this research, messages and heroic values could be taken.Keywords: Heroic Values, Romance, Implementation

Abstract

Sebagai alat komunikasi dan alat interaksi yang hanya dimiliki oleh manusia, bahasa dapat dikaji secara internal maupun secara eksternal. Kajian secara internal yaitu kajian yang hanya dilakukan terhadap struktur internal bahasa itu saja, seperti struktur fonologisnya, struktur morfologisnya atau struktur sintaksisnya. Kajian secara eksternal artinya kajian itu di dilakukan terhadap faktor-faktor yang berada di luar bahasa, yang berkaitan dengan para penuturnya di dalam kelompok-kelompok sosial kemasyarakatan. Kajian bahasa secara eksternal ini melibatkan dua disiplin ilmu, sehingga wujudnya berupa ilmu antardisiplin yang namanya merupakan gabungan dari disiplin ilmu bergabung, yaitu antara linguistik dan sosiologi sehingga namanya menjadi sosiolinguistik.Kata Kunci: bahasa, sosiolinguistik, komunikasi, interaksi

Abstract

AbstractThe reason the authors chose gender analysis is because the author wants to analyze gender on the main character by using gender prejudices and gender injustices that are influenced by the environment. The research problems revealed by the authors are (1) Gender prejudice in the Dwilogi Ranged novel by Ahmad Tohari. (2) gender inequality in the Dwilogi Ranges novel by Ahmad Tohari. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, with approach of feminism study. The data in this study are sentences or quotations containing the main character's gender analysis. The technique of data collection using documentary study with key instrument is the author. Based on the results of existing data analysis, the research results show gender analysis on the main character of gender prejudice that is gender, age ,. Skin color is a natural view that is easy to see. People assume that female gender is a kind of class in the social layer. Adat views women as being inferior to men, so it is not surprising that society considers women to be slaves. While the gender inequality is marginalization, subordination, and streotipe.Key words: Main Character Conflict, Novel.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur intrinisik yang terdapat dalam novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong Karya Tere Liye dan pengimplementasian pembelajaran unsur intrinsik yang terdapat dalam novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong Karya Tere Liye terhadap mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskripstif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong Karya Tere Liye terdapat unsur intrinsik yang terdiri dari tema, alur, latar, penokohan, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, dan amanat. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan bahan pengajaran bahsa Indonesia di sekolah khususnya untuk mengajar siswa menganalisis unsur-unsur intrinsik pada sebuah novel.   Kata Kunci: analisis, struktur, novel   Abstract: This research aimed to describe the intrinsic elements contained in the novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong by Tere Liye and implementing learning intrinsic elements contained in the novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong by Tere Liye against Indonesian subjects at school. The method used in this study is descriptive method. Based on the analysis of data can be concluded that the novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong by Tere Liye there is an intrinsic element consisting of theme, plot, background, characterizations,viewpoint, language style, and mandate. Results from this study are expected to be used as the teaching of Indonesian in schools, especially to teach students to analyze the elements intrinsic to a novel.
