Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated  by the desire of researcher of find the moral  value in a collection of sastra lisan short stories by Batak Toba work is dividet into four problems, namely how the moral values deficted from human relationships with God, how is the moral value depicted from humanrelationships with other human being, how is the moral value depicted from human relationship with it self, and how the plan of implementation of moral value in a collection of Batu Gantung short story by Sastra Lisan Batak Toba on learning Indonesian language at school. This study aims to obtain a picture of the moral value in a collection of sastra lisan short stories by Batu Gantung Sastra Lisan Batak Toba. The benefits of research that can be obtauned from this research, namely the benefist of theori about moral value and short story. Researcher used descriptive and qualitative methods. The approach used, namely the approach of the literary work. The source of data in this study related to the moral value that seen from human relationship with divinity, the moral value seen from human reletionship with other human beings, and phrase, and sentences in a collection of Batu Gantung short story by sastra lisan Batak Toba. Abstract

AbstractThis research emphasized the characterization all figures based on the characters in novel were the first elements that had characterization and character. Theories used  were novels, characterization and character. This research used descriptive methods, qualitative research forms, and a behavioral psychology approach. The source data was Keling Kumang's novel by R. Masri Sareb Putra. Data collection technique was  documentary studies. The data reflected in words, expressions, phrases and sentences contained in novel. The result of analysist are, the character of the figures in the novel there are several types of characters namely merciful (Gemuring Gading, Baji Amai, and Kumang), brave (Aryo), cheerful (Keling), abstinence surrender (Jelayan), friendly (Untai Bungai, and Bujang Sebalu), easily influenced (Entolong Cuka and Laja), vindictive (Apai Sabit), and cunning (Asam Kandis and Abang Kumang). There are two character development, namely dynamic and static. The dynamic character character development is Keling and Baji Amai, while the static character character development is Gemuring Gading, Kumang, Jelayan, Laja, Bujang Sebalu, Aryo, Entolang Cuka, Asam Kandis, Apai Sabit, Inai Abang, and Abang Kumang. The results of this study can be implemented in Indonesian Language learning in high schools in class XII students of the second semester. Keywords: Character, Disposition, Novel

Abstract

Abstract This researcher is motivated by the idea of the importance of extracting oral literature (mantra). The general problem in this study is the environment of mantra imaging, mantra diction, rhyming mantra, meaning in mantra, and implementation plans for learning Indonesian. This research used descriptive method; the form of this research was qualitative and used a structural approach. The data source in this study was the informant who tells the mantra. The results were as follows. (1) The mantra imaging environment includes, areas and situations of using mantra in Balenggang rituals. (2) The rhymes used is full rhyme, absolute rhyme, and assonance rhyme. Absolute rhymes have 12 words, and rhymes with assonance are 4 words. Based on the location and line of sentences there are three rhymes, namely: initial rhymes have 3 words, middle rhymes have 5 words, and final rhymes have 3 words. (3) Common words in Balenggang mantra are 4 words, and special words in Balenggang mantra are 6 words. (4) The meaning of the mantra includes religious meaning (religious), social meaning and the meaning of personality (individual). (5) Balenggang mantra can be used as literary learning material in junior high school.  Key Words: Mantra Balenggang, Meaning, Structure.

Abstract

AbstrackThe background of this research was to found out the value of patriotism in Kidung dari Negeri Apung Novel by Arsyad Salam. The method in this research was descriptive method in qualitative approach. The approach conducted in this research was literature sociology approach that focused on text sociology. The result in this result were: (1) the loyalty value to homewotn, including not forgetting about hometown, choose to back to hometown, developing physical and psychological, applied the developed things; (2) the courage element to save the hometown, including participated in build harmony and unity, implemented rights and obligations, carried the values; (3) the sacrificing element for hometown, including ready to sacrifice with whole body and soul, contributed in the development of prosperity, believe that the sacrifice is not meaningless; (4) the love element for hometown including know and understand about the circumstances, save and conserve the tradition, culture, and values, gave contribution through the improvement and prosperity for hometown. (5) an implementation plan had been developed about the value of patriotism in the novel for Indonesia language learning at Grade XII on High School.Key words: value, patriotism, novel

Abstract

 AbstractThe background of this research was the writer’s interest to explore the heroic values in Roman Larasati by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Theories used in this research were the definition of romance, intrinsic and extrinsic elements in romance, heroic values, and literature learning. Method used in this research is descriptive in qualitative form. Results analysis found were the elements of self-sacrfice, beliefs of Pancasila and UUD 1945, national conscience as heroic value, and the implementation in learning. The implementation of this research was particularly in the literature learning in high school grade XII semester 2 at basic competence 3.9 and 4.9. Hopefully the results of this research were beneficial as reference for teachers in teaching literature at school. From this research, messages and heroic values could be taken.Keywords: Heroic Values, Romance, Implementation

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by researchers' activities to analyze Moral Values in the Origins of the Wire River and the Bujang Beji Story. There is a rapid change in moral values so that many people do not have an idea about the norm of goodness and the development of regional oral literature whose development is not as fast as it used to be. The research method used in this study is a descriptive and qualitative method withinterview and recording techniques. In this study, there are three moral values, namely religious moral values, individual moral values, and social moral values. Religious moral values consist of praying, giving thanks, belief in God Almighty, believing in God's destiny, weak human beings, and pious attitudes. Individual moral values consist of diligence, responsibility, intelligence, patience, sincerity, selfishness and greed,suffering, hope, obedience, and honesty. Social moral values consist of helping, affection, giving advice and courage. The results of this research can be used in learning Folklore. Researchers compile RPP with Discovery Learning model with Scientific approach. Keywords: Folklore, Moral, Values

Abstract

Abstrack: The purpose in research is describe and interpret figure of speech comparison, satire, affirmation, opposition, and describe the implementation style in learning Indonesian language in high school using Malam untuk Soe Hok Gie novel by Herlinatiens. The method in research is descriptive qualitative terms. The approach used is stylistic. The style of language comparison there are 15 figure of speech. This style of language compare a thing by the other thing. The style of language satire there are 4 figure of speech. This style of language reveal to someone or policy. The style of language affirmation there are 17 figure of speech. This style of language reveal the idea with repeat word aims to convince the reader. The style of language contention there are 4 figure of speech. This style of language reveal two things that contrary, but correct because based on to the fact. The results of this study expected usable by teacher to teaching materials for students analyze the style of language comparison, allusions, affirmation, and contention.  Keywords: The Style of Language, Novel, Stylistic

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to determine the analysis of the role of the background in shaping the characters in novel Lukisan Tanpa Bingkai by Ugi Agustono J. The problems of this research are: (1) the role of the setting in shaping the character depicted in the novel Lukisan Tanpa Bingkai by Ugi Agustono J, (2) the role of the background time in shaping the character depicted in the novel Lukisan Tanpa Bingkai by Ugi Agustono J, (3) the role of the social settings in shaping the character depicted in the novel Lukisan Tanpa Bingkai by Ugi Agustono J, (4) the implementation of literary learning about the background in shaping the character. The purpose of this research is to describe the role of place, the role of time, and the role of sociality to create main characteristic.  This study used a description method with qualitative research forms. The technique used  this study documentary and data collection tool is the researcher himself as a key instrument. Based on the results of the analysis there are 23 the role of place, 14 the role of time, and 20 the role of sociality. Keywords: Role of Background, Novel

Abstract

AbstractOral literature is one of literary work made and recited orally as a part of art performances as well as in ordinary occasion. It tells about occurring events or the culture of a society. The general problems in this research was the environment of the recited spells, the meaning of the spells, and the function of the spells as an oral literature. Theories and studies used in this research were oral literature in features, forms and functions, environment of recited spells, heuristical and heumaristical reading, functions of spells, interpreting theory, semiotical structures, study planning in schools, and literature study. This was a descriptive method research in form of qualitative study with semiotical approach. The main source of this research was the reciter of the spell, and the data were the recited spells in form of words.The analysis results of the healing spells of Melayu Belitang people found that there were twenty environments of recited spells, twenty spells meanings of three religious interpretation, self trait meaning, and society meaning. It also discovered that there were fourteen functions of healing spells such as belief, social, cultural, educational, communication, and the literary function itself. Hopefully, the suggestions of this research can be beneficial for future research and learning material in schools. Keywords: meaning, function, healin spells.

Abstract

AbstractThis research mean to know about reflected symbol that show relation between man to God, man to other man, and man to nature, then implemented in literary learning.This research used descriptive method and qualitative form with semiotic study by Charles Sander Peirce. Data source is text of folklore DayakKanayant dialect Bajare community, Setanduk village Capkala district Bengkayang regency. Data in this research is symbol that connect man to God, man to man, and man to nature. Data tools the researcher. Steps to collect the data is recording, transcription, translation, identification, and classification. The conclusion that is (1) symbol of relation man to God were buuhmalindo, asung, alu, bade, aikkasanggan, babont, manoksabungan, asukitamp, tumpi’ poe’, kapursirih, bontokng, barassasah, aikkasanggan, anger binyak, pa tekng-tekng, tapungktawar, kobetbasa’, kobetkarikng, penekngunyitmatabaras, lagor, tapayant, burukngketo, kaikngkuning, kaikngmerah, banang, (2) symbol of relation man to man were asung, alu, babont, manoksabungan, asukitamp, kapursirih, banang, burukngketo, (3) symbol of relation man to nature were hutan, babont, manok, asuk, burukngketo, kayuara, parahu, aikkasanggan. Keyword: Analysist, Bajare Dialect, DayakKanayant, Folklore, Symbol.
