Abstract

This study aims to analyze the research landscape on religious tourism and spiritual tourism within the context of destination management using a bibliometric approach. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database with the keywords “destination management” AND (“spiritual tourism” OR “religious tourism”). After filtering by language, publication stage, and year, a total of 210 documents were analyzed using VOSviewer software. The co-occurrence analysis with a minimum threshold of three occurrences identified 49 keywords that met the criteria and formed four main thematic clusters. The mapping results reveal that religious tourism is primarily examined from the perspectives of destination management, tourism economics, and cultural heritage preservation. In contrast, spiritual tourism focuses more on tourists' psychological and personal experiences. Both themes intersect strongly through issues such as sustainability, cultural heritage, and service quality. These findings highlight the need for a multidisciplinary approach to developing tourism destinations that balance economic and managerial goals with spiritual and social values. Future research is recommended to strengthen the integration between spiritual and managerial dimensions and enhance cross-national collaboration to broaden perspectives in the study of spiritual and religious tourism.

Abstract

The implementation of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a strategic public policy in human resource development through the recognition of formal, non-formal, informal learning experiences, and work experience. The Open University developed a 5G application as a digital-based public service innovation to manage the entire RPL process in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the 5G application as a public service innovation in the implementation of the RPL program and its impact on the quality of academic services. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies of academic staff, assessors, system developers, and students. The analysis was conducted using Sutrisno's program effectiveness theory which includes indicators of program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and real change. The results of the study indicate that the 5G application is functionally effective in increasing efficiency, transparency, and integration of RPL services, but is not optimal in terms of timeliness and consistency of assessment.

Abstract

HKBP Perumnas Batu Onom is a Christian place of worship located on Tusam Raya Street, Perumnas-Batu Onom, Pantoan Maju, Siantar District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. The HKBP Perumnas Batu Onom Church has been established since March 13, 1983, and has conducted numerous service activities and visits. However, the service application mechanism is still done directly at the church, which is considered less effective. Based on this issue, a solution was found by shifting the information dissemination and service mechanism to an online medium using a website. The Agile methodology was employed in designing the website, following the stages of the agile method, with data collected through observation and interviews. It was determined that integrating information dissemination and services into a website-based system provides a solution to the problem. The HKBP Perumnas Batu Onom website was successfully created using the PHP programming language and the Laravel framework. To ensure optimal results, Blackbox Testing was conducted with the congregation and church management of HKBP Perumnas Batu Onom. It was found that the HKBP Perumnas Batu Onom information website facilitates the congregation in obtaining information about worship schedules and church activities, and assists church management in managing congregation data and financial reporting.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to evaluate and scrutinize the overall efficacy of financial inclusion initiatives, specifically microfinance programs and financing decisions, in improving the welfare of fishermen. The focus of this study is on the role of behavior, knowledge, and financial stability in increasing the assessing the transformative outcomes of financial integration and financing decisions on fishermen's welfare. Design/methodology/approach: This study used a population of fishermen in the Riau Islands who utilize microfinance programs. Adopting a quantitative approach, this research utilized survey-based methods to gather data from 150 participants. These individuals were selected through a purposive sampling strategy, and the resulting data were processed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via the SmartPLS application. Research Findings: This research proves that financial literacy significantly improves financial inclusion and the quality of funding decisions. In addition, financial behavior and stability have been shown to encourage financial inclusion, although financial stability actually reduces fishermen's dependence on external debt. Overall, financial inclusion and appropriate funding decisions are key determinants in improving the welfare of fishermen Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research differentiates itself through the development of a holistic model that uniquely integrates financial literacy, behavior, and stability into one unified framework to comprehensively explain the welfare of fishers. The specific focus on maritime communities in the Riau Islands gives it an advantage over other general research because it is able to formulate contextual solutions to the erratic fishermen's income cycle

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure and rating disparity on the financial performance and firm value of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample includes 45 companies from the ESG Leaders Index during 2019–2023. ESG disclosure is measured using scores from Bloomberg and Refinitiv, while disparity is calculated from the difference between both. Financial performance is measured by Return on Assets (ROA), and firm value by Tobin’s Q. Using panel data regression with a fixed effect model, the results show Bloomberg’s ESG score has a positive impact on ROA, while Refinitiv’s score has a negative effect. Both ESG scores negatively affect firm value. Surprisingly, ESG disparity shows a positive correlation with firm value. These findings highlight the need for harmonized ESG standards and caution for investors relying on ESG ratings.

Abstract

The Karkota dynasty of Kashmir reached its zenith under the reign of Lalitaditya Muktapida (724–761 A.D.), widely regarded as its most illustrious ruler. His reign marked a golden age in the political, cultural, and artistic history of Kashmir. Lalitaditya’s achievements were remarkable not only for his extensive military campaigns, which earned him enduring historical recognition, but also for his enlightened governance. He pursued a policy of religious tolerance, extending patronage to both Buddhism and Brahmanism by commissioning temples, monasteries, and viharas that became important centres of learning. Scholars from within and beyond the region were welcomed and generously supported, fostering a vibrant intellectual environment. The administration undertook significant public works, including the improvement of infrastructure, irrigation facilities, and relief measures during natural calamities. Charitable institutions ensured regular support for the poor and destitute. Often described by historians as the “Alexander of Kashmiri history” or the “Samudragupta of Kashmir,” Lalitaditya presided over a flourishing of art, architecture, culture, and learning. This study examines the artistic and architectural traditions of the Karkota period, emphasizing their enduring significance within India’s cultural heritage.

Abstract

Gender sensitization is a crucial process in fostering a society that values equality, respect, and inclusivity. It involves developing awareness and understanding of gender roles, stereotypes, and biases that perpetuate discrimination and inequality. By challenging traditional norms and promoting progressive attitudes, gender sensitization helps create an environment where individuals, regardless of gender, have equal opportunities and rights. This paper explores the significance of gender sensitization in various spheres, including education, workplaces, policymaking, and social interactions. It highlights the impact of ingrained biases and how sensitization initiatives, such as gender training programs, inclusive education, and media representation, contribute to breaking societal barriers. Furthermore, the paper examines the role of governments, organizations, and communities in implementing policies and interventions that address gender disparities and promote equitable treatment for all. Through an analytical lens, the study underscores the need for a holistic approach to gender sensitization, encompassing awareness campaigns, curriculum reforms, and behavioural changes at individual and institutional levels. Ultimately, fostering a gender-sensitive society is essential for achieving sustainable development, social harmony, and human rights for all. This research emphasizes that gender sensitization is not merely an academic or policy-driven concept but a transformative process that empowers individuals and communities to embrace diversity and inclusion.

Abstract

Muhammad Iqbal (1877–1938), a pivotal figure in modern Islamic thought, poet, and philosopher, articulated a profound metaphysical system that reimagines God as the Ultimate Ego—a dynamic, creative, and personal entity engaged in perpetual creation. This framework elevates humanity to the status of co-creators through the cultivation of khudi (selfhood or ego), a concept that emphasizes individuality, freedom, and purposeful action. Rejecting both the static determinism of mechanistic science and the passive annihilation of traditional Sufi mysticism, Iqbal’s dynamic theism integrates Qur’anic teachings, Sufi insights (selectively critiqued), and influences from Western philosophers like Henri Bergson and Friedrich Nietzsche to foster a re-enchanted worldview. In a post-mechanistic cosmos informed by quantum mechanics and relativity, where reality is probabilistic and relational rather than rigidly deterministic, Iqbal’s philosophy restores human agency, meaning, and wonder. This paper delves into the intricacies of Iqbal’s ideas, exploring their historical context, key components, philosophical implications, critiques, and contemporary relevance, arguing that they provide a robust foundation for empowering individuals in an era of scientific and existential uncertainty.
POSTCOLONIAL IDENTITIES AND HYBRIDITY IN MID-CENTURY WRITING: CHINUA ACHEBE’S THINGS FALL APART, V.S. NAIPAUL’S A HOUSE FOR MR BISWAS AND JEAN RHYS’S WIDE SARGASSO SEA Faheem Ul Haq

Abstract

This research paper examines the concepts of postcolonial identities and hybridity in three seminal mid-20th-century novels: Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart (1958), V.S. Naipaul’s A House for Mr Biswas (1961), and Jean Rhys’s Wide Sargasso Sea (1966). Drawing on Homi K. Bhabha’s theoretical framework of hybridity as a “Third Space” of cultural negotiation and ambivalence, the analysis explores how these works depict the fragmentation, resistance, and reconfiguration of identities in colonial and postcolonial contexts. Achebe illustrates cultural hybridity through the clash of Igbo traditions and British colonialism in Nigeria; Naipaul portrays diasporic Indian identities in Trinidad as sites of syncretism and liminality; and Rhys highlights the tragic isolation of Creole hybridity in the Caribbean. Through comparative analysis, the paper argues that hybridity, while potentially subversive, often manifests as a source of crisis and exclusion, challenging essentialist notions of cultural purity and underscoring the enduring legacies of empire.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mediating role of job satisfaction in the influence of human resources (HR) and organizational culture on the quality of the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) at the Bandung High Court. The background of this study is the persistence of public complaints regarding aspects of service speed and procedures, which indicates the need to strengthen internal organizational factors. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. The research sample consisted of 103 employees determined using the Slovin formula from a total population of 137 people. Data were analyzed using path analysis with the help of IBM SPSS version 26. The results showed that HR and organizational culture have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and service quality. Job satisfaction was proven to have a significant effect on service quality. However, the Sobel test showed that job satisfaction does not act as a significant mediator in the relationship between HR and organizational culture on service quality. Organizational culture has a more dominant influence than HR. This finding confirms that improving service quality in judicial institutions is more effective if it is focused on directly strengthening HR and organizational culture, in addition to efforts to improve employee job satisfaction.
