Abstract

Indonesia faces an escalating waste management crisis, with national waste generation reaching 35–38 million tons annually and only 32–40% managed formally. The 2025 North Sumatra flash floods, which claimed over 1,100 lives, highlighted how uncontrolled waste accumulation in drainage systems exacerbates hydrometeorological disasters. In medium-sized cities like Tebing Tinggi, where daily waste generation reaches 120–150 tons and landfill capacity is overloaded, the informal sector—comprising waste pickers and small-scale recyclers—plays a critical yet marginalized role in material recovery. This study aims to design, develop, and validate the INKLUSIRKULAR Model, an inclusive circular economy framework that bridges formal and informal sectors to reduce unmanaged waste, mitigate flood risks, and enhance inclusive green economic well-being. Using a convergent parallel mixed-method design, the study combines Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with 250 respondents and Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving 20 key informants, including waste pickers, environmental agencies, MSMEs, and flood-affected communities. The SEM-PLS results reveal that economic feasibility (β = 0.318), environmental sustainability (β = 0.306), and social justice (β = 0.294) are the strongest direct predictors of inclusive green economic well-being, explaining 63.5% of variance (R² = 0.635). Partial mediation analysis confirms that community economic empowerment mediates the effects of environmental sustainability and social justice, while waste-based innovation mediates economic feasibility and environmental sustainability. However, economic feasibility does not significantly empower communities collectively, indicating that institutional interventions are required beyond individual income gains. The PAR findings demonstrate that circular waste banks with formal recognition for waste pickers serve as the key mechanism for integrating informal actors. The study contributes a validated multi-dimensional theoretical framework for inclusive green economic well-being and provides evidence-based policy recommendations for medium-sized cities in developing countries.

Abstract

The Bedana Negeri Olok Gading dance is a traditional art form from Lampung that functions not only as an aesthetic expression but also as a medium for character education. However, in contemporary practice, the Bedana dance is often positioned solely as a ceremonial performance, while its potential as a character education medium remains underutilized. This study aims to identify character education values embedded in the Bedana Negeri Olok Gading dance, analyze its function as a character education medium, and examine its role in preserving local culture. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with artists and traditional leaders, and performance documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, grounded in character education and arts education theories. The findings indicate that the Bedana Negeri Olok Gading dance embodies values such as religiosity, discipline, responsibility, togetherness, and politeness, internalized through movement structures, musical accompaniment, and social performance contexts. This study emphasizes the role of Bedana dance as a contextual and sustainable medium for character education in local cultural preservation.

Abstract

This research focuses on examining the inheritance of the Penguton Dance in Kayuagung, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, focusing more on the cultural values contained and the preservation strategies implemented by the supporting community. The Penguton Dance is the oldest traditional dance in South Sumatra, created in 1889 and is still maintained as the sekapur sirih dance of OKI Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods to deeply explore the symbolic meaning, ethnopedagogical values, and cultural inheritance strategies carried out by the Kayuagung community. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, cultural figures, and the younger generation, as well as documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the Penguton Dance contains cultural values that include the value of respect for ancestors and distinguished guests, the value of togetherness represented through the involvement of nine clans (Marga Siwe), the value of sacredness and social strata, and aesthetic values reflected in the movements, costumes, and dance properties. The preservation strategies adopted by the community include standardizing the dance as an official regional dance, maintaining the integrity of the nine dancers, staging performances at state events, and regeneration efforts through the involvement of the younger generation. This study concludes that the inheritance of the Penguton Dance requires an integrated approach between preserving cultural values and strategic innovation that adapts to changing times without losing the essence and sacredness of the dance.

Abstract

The villa industry in Bali Province faces increasingly fierce competition due to the increasing number of accommodations, changing tourist preferences, and growing demands for authentic and sustainable tourism experiences. This condition is exacerbated by the declining occupancy rate of legal villas in Bali, necessitating strategies capable of increasing tourist loyalty through revisit intention . In this context, experiential marketing and customer experience are seen as important factors that can shape sustainable perceived value and encourage tourist revisit intentions. This study aims to analyze the influence of experiential marketing and customer experience on revisit intention through sustainable perceived value in the villa industry in Bali Province. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of tourists who have stayed at villas in Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan Regencies. Data collection was carried out by distributing structured questionnaires to respondents, namely foreign and local tourists who meet the research criteria. The research data were analyzed using inferential statistics to test the direct and indirect effects between research variables, including experiential marketing, customer experience, sustainable perceived value, and revisit intention. The results show that experiential marketing and customer experience have a positive and significant effect on sustainable perceived value among customers of the villa industry in Bali. Furthermore, sustainable perceived value has been shown to have a positive and significant effect on revisit intention. This study also found that experiential marketing and customer experience have a positive and significant effect on revisit intention, both directly and indirectly through sustainable perceived value as a mediating variable. These findings indicate that an authentic, comfortable, and memorable customer experience can increase tourists' perceived value towards the villa, thereby encouraging tourists' intention to revisit. This study provides theoretical contributions to the development of experiential marketing, customer experience , and consumer behavior studies in the sustainable tourism sector. Furthermore, this study also provides practical implications for villa managers in Bali to design marketing strategies oriented towards customer experience, service quality, and sustainable value creation to increase tourist loyalty and revisit intention amidst the increasingly competitive villa industry.

Abstract

Pop Mart's blind-box retail model has driven rapid growth across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, by engineering scarcity, gamification, and celebrity endorsement into every transaction. While these tactics generate immediate commercial success, their long-term implications for consumer well-being, brand trust, and market sustainability remain underexplored. Drawing on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S–O–R) framework, this study examines the psychological mechanisms through which celebrity endorsement, blind-box gamification, and scarcity cues affect impulse buying and repeat-purchase intentions among Indonesian consumers, mediated by parasocial attachment, perceived enjoyment, and emotional arousal. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed, collecting data from 229 Indonesian consumers aged 18–40 via online questionnaire. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with 5,000 bootstrap resamples was used to test thirteen direct and six mediation hypotheses. Results reveal that each stimulus activates a distinct psychological pathway: gamification drives hedonic enjoyment and sustainable repeat purchase; scarcity cues generate pressure-based emotional arousal that triggers compulsive buying; and celebrity endorsement, counter-intuitively, suppresses both enjoyment and long-term repurchase through expectation-disconfirmation in the probabilistic reveal format. The study extends the S–O–R model to physical collectable retail and provides actionable governance recommendations for ethical scarcity architectures in ASEAN markets.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of sunlight intensity and conidial density on the severity of leaf rust caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi in edamame cultivated in an immature oil palm plantation. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving observations of sunlight intensity, conidial counts, and disease severity. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS after the disease severity variable was log-transformed to meet the normality assumption. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test yielded an Asymp. Sig. value of 0.200, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The model showed no multicollinearity (Tolerance = 0.904; VIF = 1.106) and no discernible heteroscedasticity pattern in the residual scatterplot. The regression equation was Y = 0.830 + 0.000000039X1 + 0.033X2. Sunlight intensity had no significant partial effect, whereas conidial density had a positive and significant effect on disease severity. Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect, with F = 440.049 and R Square = 0.954.

Abstract

This study analyzed the effects of wind speed and conidial density on edamame leaf rust caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi in an immature oil palm plantation. The research was conducted at the Oil Palm Teaching and Research Farm of Institut Teknologi Sawit Indonesia, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Wind speed was measured, airborne conidia were collected using spore traps, and disease intensity was assessed. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS, including classical assumption tests, an F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The regression model satisfied the normality assumption, showed no multicollinearity, and exhibited no evidence of heteroscedasticity. Partially, wind speed had no significant effect on disease intensity (p = 0.437), whereas conidial count had a significant effect (p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected disease intensity (F = 442.472; p < 0.001), with an R Square value of 0.955. These findings indicate that conidial density is an important indicator of edamame leaf rust development.

Abstract

Variations in rice-price movements across regions and marketing levels indicate that price formation and market-information transmission are not uniform. This study describes rice-price developments at the producer level in Jambi, West Sumatra, and South Sumatra and at the wholesale and consumer levels in Jambi, and analyses horizontal and vertical market integration. Monthly prices from January 2021 to April 2026 were examined using descriptive and linear-trend analysis, vector autoregression, and error correction models within a cointegration framework. All series trended upward, although their rates of change and fluctuations differed. Producer markets did not share a long-run equilibrium, but one-way short-run linkages ran from West Sumatra to Jambi and from Jambi to South Sumatra. Vertically, the South Sumatra chain exhibited the broadest set of long-run relationships, whereas the West Sumatra and local Jambi chains showed no long-run linkage between producer and downstream prices. The wholesale-consumer segment displayed the most consistent adjustment mechanism. Rice-market integration in Jambi therefore varies across regions, marketing levels, and time horizons and does not necessarily imply proportional price transmission. The study’s originality lies in jointly analysing price trends and horizontal and vertical integration while retaining the geographical identity of each producer-price series.
