Abstract

In handling guests, certainly several essential references or regulations must be understood by all actors in the tourism sector. Not only in the tourism sector but in government offices knowledge needed to know of reasonable and correct service procedures is required. In carrying out a service to guests visiting the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, it is necessary to pay attention to the procedures and the correct language expressions. There are some examples of the procedures and the language expressions used when handling the visiting guests that need to be used. With the topic to be discussed, it is hoped that readers can gain knowledge about the procedures and the language expressions used when handling guest visits.

Abstract

Teachers as one of the main components must be able to understand students and manage their learning paths so that they can shape students' abilities and character. A teacher must also be capable of creating an interesting learning environment to stimulate students' learning motivation or interest. The use of interactive learning media can help optimize student learning interests, one of which is the Wordwall application. Therefore, the study focuses on student responses to the use of the Wordwall application in the learning of news text in the VIIA of SMP Negeri 3 Pringgarata. The subjects of this study are students of the VIIA of SMP Negeri 3 Pringgarata while the object of this research is the student's response to learning news text using the wordwall application. Data collection methods include observations, tests, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive. The findings in this study were the average response data of students to the use of Wordwall applications obtained from Cycle I action was 41.7% which was in the positive category, while the average student response data to the application Wordwall received from the Cycle II action was 46.5% which was in the very positive category.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive is, (1) the planning of descriptive text learning in implementing the independent curriculum in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja, (2) the implementation and evaluation of descriptive text learning in implementing the independent curriculum in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja, 3) obstacles or obstacles faced by teachers and students in learning descriptive texts in implementing the independent curriculum in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja. The subjects of this research are teachers and students. The object of the research is learning descriptive texts in implementing the independent curriculum. The methods used to collect research data are documentation, observation and interviews. The data analysis technique used carries out several stages, namely reduction, presentation, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that; (1) descriptive text learning in implementing the independent curriculum in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja has been well planned, (2) descriptive text learning in implementing the independent curriculum in class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja is still not implemented optimally (3) descriptive text learning In implementing the independent curriculum in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja there are still problems or obstacles for both teachers and students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of the short story Kancil and Buaya by Syirli Martin in learning to write narrative texts for class VII D students at SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research design. The subjects of this research were Indonesian language teachers and students of class VII D of SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi. and the objects in this research are the elements contained in the short story Kancil and Buaya by Syirli Martin, the use of the short story Kancil and Buaya by Syirli Martin in learning to write narrative texts, and the student's ability to write narrative texts by utilizing the short story Kancil and Buaya by Syirli Martin in learning to write narrative texts for class VII D students at SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi. The data collection methods used are observation methods and documentation methods. Using qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques with data reduction steps, data presentation, data interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are that there are intrinsic elements consisting of theme, plot, characters, setting, language style, message, and point of view. The use of the short story Kancil and Buaya by Syirli Martin in learning to write narrative texts was used as media and material in learning and students' ability to write narrative texts obtained a class average score of 79 in the good category.

Abstract

This research describes the use of wattpad media in online learning to write short stories. This research uses a qualitative descriptive design. The aim of this research is to find out the step for using wattpad media in online learning, learning outcomes of class XI IPA students and obstacles experinced by teachers in learning using wattpad media at SMAN 1 Abiansemal. Data collection was carried put using the observation method, assignment method, and interview method. The instruments used are observation guidelines, assessment formats, and interview guidlines. The result of this research is that there are steps to use wattpad media in online learning to wite short stories. Apart form that, this research shows that student learning outcomes using wattpad media as an online learning medium for writing short stories are 1.723. if these amounts are averaged, a value of 75 will appear in the good category. Several obstacles were found that teachers experienced when online learning using wattpad media took place. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide benefits to students in learning to write short stories, so that students can find new media for writing short stories.

Abstract

This research aimed to observe the interactional sociolinguistic analysis at one of traditional market at Singaraja. In the interactional sociolinguistic observed, the researcher describes the types of the interactional sociolinguistic that dominantly occur in the seller and buyer’s conversation. The observation has done at Pasar Penarungan in 20 interlocution and described into several subjects; male and female. The result of this research shows that there are two types of interactional sociolinguistic found in the sellers and buyers’ interlocution. Those types are contextualization cues and indirectness. The result showed the most dominant type of Interactional Sociolinguistic type found at the market is the indirectness. It can be seen not only from the intention given by both seller and buyer at that situation, but they also used various gestures and expressions that indicates their meaning in those signal.

Abstract

This research aims to describe (1) the use of YouTube media in learning to write drama scripts for students at SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja (2) the obstacles in learning to write drama scripts using YouTube media for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja (3) the results of learning to write drama script using YouTube media for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Singaraja. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. The subject of this study was a class VIII Indonesian. The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that (1) The implementation of learning to write drama scripts using YouTube media, there are three activities carried out, namely the opening, core, and closing activities in the implementation of learning to write drama scripts. In the opening activity, the writer delivers an overview and learning objectives, in the core activity the teacher shows a video, and students listen to the video being shown, and in the closing activity, the teacher draws conclusions from the lesson. (2) The obstacles in learning to write drama scripts using YouTube media, namely showing, namely, lack of students' focus on learning to write drama scripts due to the different students' abilities -Different in writing drama scripts, time management is still less effective. (3) average score of 85 in the good category. This gives an idea of the extent of students' abilities in writing drama scripts using YouTube media, namely seen from the students' work which is checked by the teacher, and sorted according to the students' abilities from the highest score obtained to the smallest score. The suggestion for this research is that Indonesian language teachers maintain the effectiveness of using YouTube media in learning.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to describe the types of directive illocutionary acts function in “Enola Holmes” the movie and to find out the type of directive illocutionary acts function which is mostly used by the characters in this movie. This is descriptive qualitative research. The researcher used observation methods in collecting the data. There were some steps in collecting the data: read the novel several times to understand the plot and examined the dialogue to distinguish the types of directive illocutionary act function that found in the utterance between the characters in the movie. The researcher applied Searle (1979) to analyze the data. The result of the research shows that there are 44 utterances containing directive illocutionary act function. The data were classified into four; ordering (16), forbidding (4), requesting (15), and suggesting (9). Of the total 44 directive illocutionary act function, ordering are the most used types of directives illocutionary act function because the character mostly expressed their utterances by ordering.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of slang and social factors that influence the slang spoken by the main character in the movie Senior Year. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods using theories from Allan and Burridge (2006) to identify the types of slang found and Holmes (2013) used in analyzing the social factors that influence the slang used. The data were collected through observation method. The results showed that there are 8 or 36,4% for fresh and creative, 4 or 18,3% for clipping, 4 or 18,2% for imitative, 3 or 13,6% for flippant, and 3 or 13,6% for acronym. It is shown that the highest percentage of types of slang is fresh and creative, which is 36,4%. In analyzing the data, the researcher found that the social factors influenced the slang utterances. Participants influence the slang spoken to another people, function influence the goal of the slang, setting influence the place and situation of the slang used, and topic influence the main point of the conversation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of Ehon for Japanese language learning at Singaraja Vocational School majoring in tourism and to determine the feasibility of the media being developed. The type of this research is research and development (Research and Development). The research model used in this study is an adaptation of the Borg and Gall (1983) model in Puslitjaknov (2008: 11) which consists of four stages of development including preliminary studies, planning and product development, expert validation and limited trials. The product produced is Ehon media which consists of 8 material chapters, in each chapter consisting of stories, questions and conversations to guide students' critical thinking skills. Data collection was carried out using interviews and questionnaires in the form of expert test questionnaires (matter expert tests, media expert tests) and product trials in order to produce good products. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the score obtained from material experts was 75 (appropriate), from media experts namely 100 (very appropriate). The score obtained from the results of the limited trial questionnaire with the teacher was 100 (very appropriate) and the results of the limited trial with students were 97% (very feasible). Thus, the developed Ehon media can be used as a learning support medium and guides students' critical thinking skills in learning Japanese in accordance with the tourism major.
