Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to find out the development of KOKOSIS learning media (Ecosystem Component Box) on the theme 8 sub-theme 1 grade V at UPTD SDN Panyaksagan Klampis; (2) to know the validity, effectiveness, and attractiveness of KOKOSIS learning media (Ecosystem Component Box) at the theme 8 sub-theme 1 grade V at UPTD SDN Panyaksagan Klampis. This development research uses the Borg and Gall development model. Based on the results of the research conducted, the results showed that the average percentage of KOKOSIS learning media’s validity was 89%, hence it can be categorized as very valid. The effectiveness of the KOKOSIS learning media which is being measured from the teacher observations is 100%, hence can be categorized as very active. Meanwhile, the result of the observation on the students’ activity is 98% and can also be categorized as very active. The percentage of classical completeness is 91%, hence it can be categorized as completed. In conclusion, the KOKOSIS learning media can be effectively used in learning process. Furthermore, the media’s attractiveness which is measured by the percentage of student questionnaire response shows that 97% of the students claimed it as attractive, thus it can be categorized as very interesting. Thus, it can be concluded that the KOKOSIS learning media is valid, effective and interesting to be applied in the Theme 8 Sub-theme 1 of ecosystem components topic for V grader at UPTD SDN Panyaksagan Klampis.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is whether the application of the fun learning model can improve the skills of writing narrative essays in the fifth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. This study aims to find out how the application of the fun learning model in improving narrative essay writing skills in class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. This type of research is class action research (Class Action Research) which consists of two cycles where each cycle is carried out four times. The focus of this research is 1) narrative essay writing skills and 2) the use of fun learning models in class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. The research procedure includes planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were students of class V, totaling 16 people. The data collected were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study are: (1) In the first cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes for Class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City is 58.7 (2) In the second cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes for class V UPT SPF is obtained. Inpres Parang Elementary School in Makassar City was higher at 82.5. The learning completeness of the fifth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City has also increased. In the first cycle, from 3 (18.7%) students achieved complete learning, while in the second cycle, 14 (87.5%) students achieved learning mastery, and classical learning mastery was achieved. This means that learning completeness in cycle II is achieved classically because the number of students who complete is more than 85%.

Abstract

This research was conducted by looking at the educational situation, especially in elementary schools because of the lack of variety in teaching in terms of the use of digital learning media. The lack of variety of learning media makes students less enthusiastic in participating in learning activities. The purpose of this digital comic development research is to develop a variety of teaching through digital comic media so that it can increase students' motivation and enthusiasm in teaching. The development of this digital comic research uses Research and Development (R&D) as well as a 4D development model which includes the stages, namely Define, Design, Development and Dissemination. The subjects in the study consisted of the principal and class V teacher of Purwamekar State as experts and students as trial subjects for digital comic products. Types of data collection is done by doing observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research results are as follows. The expert test was the principal and grade 5 teacher of SD Negeri Purwamekar with a percentage of 88% test results and product trials on students with a very good percentage. Thus the results of the study, it was concluded that the learning media of digital comics in learning science for vertebrates and invertebrates in elementary schools can foster enthusiasm and be effective in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the characteristics of social, emotional, and moral development in elementary school children, and (2) the implications of children's social, emotional, and moral development on the formation of social attitudes in elementary school children. The research method used in this study is literature. The results showed that the characteristics of social, emotional, and moral development of elementary school children were aware of the social roles, religion, race, and socioeconomic status of their peers, accepted cultural stereotypes, and adult attitudes towards their status, thus creating group awareness in their social environment. These characteristics will persist until late childhood and will continue until they are adults if educators provide a stimulus in continuing their mature developmental tasks. The stimulus is in the form of guidance, direction, and providing a good and healthy socio-cultural environment in social, emotional, and moral development so that it has implications for the formation of good social attitudes. For children's socialization skills to improve, the task of educators is to guide and direct them to learn to accept and carry out responsibilities, learn to compete with others, learn good social behavior, learn to work together, learn from adults, and learn with peers, learn to adapt themselves with group standards, learn to play to develop physical, learn to share, and learn sportsmanship. The most important thing is good parenting from parents as the first madrasa for children informing children with noble character as a form of good social attitude in society.

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus pandemic has prompted the government of Indonesia to implement policies regarding health protocols for all citizens including elementary school students. However, elementary school-age children are still unable to understand the importance of implementing these health protocols properly. This study aims to: 1) determine the development of interactive Articulate Storyline media on the prevention of Covid-19 virus transmission for elementary school students; 2) determine the quality of the development of interactive Articulate Storyline media on the prevention of Covid-19 virus transmission for elementary school students. This study was conducted in the form of Research and Development (R&D) research using the ADDIE development model. The development model consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research data were drawn from expert judgment. A combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches were used to analyze the data. The results of this study based on the assessment from the experts were as follows. The assessment results of media experts and material experts revealed that the developed product was categorized as "Very Good" where it received a score of 86 and 81 respectively. In terms of language, the product got a score of 83.5 or in the "Very Good" category from the language expert. Thus, it can be concluded that the Articulate Storyline media on the prevention of Covid-19 virus transmission is very good to be used as learning assistance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of PGMI students in developing scientific literacy-based questions in science learning in MI/SD. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis. The results of the study found that the ability of students to develop scientific literacy-based questions on the competency dimension was in the good category, the content dimension was in the good category, the science context dimension was in the very good category and the scientific attitude category was in the poor category. It can be concluded that the students' ability in developing scientific literacy-based questions is in the "good" category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the understanding of elementary school teachers candidates’ on the value of national character in the Character Education Concept course. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The population in this study were all active 2020 PGMI students, totaling 89 people. The sampling technique used is random sampling, namely members of the population are selected randomly so that the number of samples consisting of 49 people is obtained. The instrument used in this research is in the form of a questionnaire distributed to the respondents. The results showed that the average student understanding of character values ​​in the Character Education Concept course was 89% which was in the very good category.

Abstract

This development was motivated by the limited learning media and unstable student learning outcomes. The research objective is to develop a practical, effective and valid Domino Nusantara (DORA) media to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students. This development uses a 4D (four D) model. Before carrying out the pilot phase, expert tests were carried out, namely learning media experts, learning design experts, and material experts. The research was carried out at SDN Mander 1 Tambakboyo in class IV. Based on the results of expert validation, the following percentages were obtained: material expert validation 89.2% (very valid), learning design experts 95.5% (very valid), and media development experts 82.1% (very valid), response teachers are 91.6% and the results of student responses are 91.4%, and the average percentage of results is 91.5% (very practical) learning implementation observation sheets are 92.5% (very effective) and student learning outcomes are 88.4 % of students finished studying. Based on the results of practicality validation obtained from teacher and student responses as well as from the observation sheet on the implementation of learning and student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that the Domino Nusantara (DORA) learning media is effectively used.

Abstract

Reading is a very important factor in the world of literacy because the benefits are very large. Thus, reading is one of the benchmarks for a person's level of intelligence. Likewise, the influence of reading on the appreciation of literary works, in this case, short stories. This study aims to determine the correlation between reading comprehension and appreciation of short stories for fifth-grade students at SDN Antapia, Wakatobi Regency. This research is a correlational study. The research sample amounted to 10 people with the saturated sampling method. Data collection techniques using test instruments. The data analysis technique used is statistical-descriptive analysis. The results obtained from the research have a correlation coefficient rcount of 0.931, which is greater than 0.05. That is, there is a positive relationship or correlation between the variable reading comprehension and the variable appreciating short stories in fifth-grade students of SDN Antapia, Wakatobi Regency and the degree of correlation between variables is very large. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the student's ability to read, the higher the level of appreciation of short stories.

Abstract

The ability of the principal in managing the school becomes a reference in the success of the learning process in the school in managing every component in the school. Teachers are professional educators with their main tasks being to educate, teach, guide, direct, assess, and evaluate learners. This study examined the competence of the principal related to the performance of teachers. This research aims to find out the correlation of the competence of the principal with teacher performance. The study used correlational quantitative methods and data collected using the principal's competency questionnaire sheet and the Teacher's performance observation sheet. The results showed a significant correlation between the competence of the principal and the performance of teachers with a contribution of 53%. The description shows that the hypothesis that the author formulated was accepted to be true. Thus it can be concluded that there is a correlation of the competence of the principal with teacher performance. If the competence of the principal is realized in accordance with dimensions and tupoksi then the teacher's performance will certainly be better.
