Abstract

The purpose of this study was to conduct initial identification of mathematical problems in the context of local culture proposed by students. A total of 17 prospective elementary school teacher from a private university in Makassar were the subjects of this study. Students were asked to pose mathematical problems about the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of two natural numbers and include the local cultural context. The results showed that of the 17 mathematical problems, 15 problems classified as solvable and two problems classified as unsolvable. Mathematical problems could not be solved because there was less information in the problems or there was conflicting information. The local cultural context used in the mathematical problems was dominated by the Bugis-Makassar ethnic group. Of the 17 mathematical problems posed, 16 problems were classified as real problems and one problem was classified as a pseudo problem. The problem was classified as pseudo problem because it contained contexts that were not relevant to the actual situation.

Abstract

Physical education is an important component of general education because it promotes individual growth through physical exercise and natural human movement. Physical education is a series of planned and structured learning experiences to meet the developmental and behavioral requirements of each child and adolescent. Physical education is a process of interaction between students and their environment which is handled through organized physical exercise in order to realize a complete human being which includes physical, psychomotor, cognitive, and emotional elements. In fact, many parents are not able to maximize the potential of their children, so they only need to take care of themselves physically and provide the amount of food needed, but lack of exercise stimulation. Being realistic, accepting yourself and people as they are, adapting quickly, being able to handle problems objectively, not depending on others, empathizing, having a sense of humor, being creative, and appreciating difficulties are the characteristics of emotional maturity.

Abstract

Physical education is an inseparable part of national education which aims to develop the abilities of students through physical activities. Physical education planning is carried out carefully to meet the behavioral development, growth, and needs of each child. Physical education not only develops psychomotor abilities, but also develops students' cognitive and affective abilities. Physical education learning starts early to start organic, motor, intellectual and emotional development. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting and downloading an article or journal that conducts research directly in the field. The population in this study, which was taken from a journal, involved 3 teachers and 35 early childhood children, which was intended to obtain research results from the implementers and recipients of learning. Data collection techniques used open interviews, observation and documentation during the data collection process. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing which aims to provide research results that are in accordance with the reality in the field. Early childhood physical education currently shows complex problems, in terms of learning, facilities, social conditions and government policies. However, the purpose of education must be implemented properly to develop cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities of early childhood. Nature-based educational activities are very suitable to be applied because apart from being able to practice corners during the pandemic, PAUD students can play comfortably and have fun.

Abstract

The spread of the COVID-19 virus in 2020 has spread very quickly so far it has had a very large impact, especially in the field of education. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, condensing data, presenting data and verifying or drawing conclusions. The subjects of this study were the principal and 3 homeroom teachers in class V SDN 1 Lalebbata. The results of the study indicate that teacher planning must prepare teacher administration according to the conditions experienced such as educational calendars, promissory notes, prota, syllabus, lesson plans, absent books, KKM, grade lists, package books, teaching materials, and class rules. For the implementation of learning, each class divides its students into two parts, there is the morning shift at 07.30-09.00 and for the afternoon shift at 09.30-11.00. The teacher's activities are limited so that the teacher only conveys important points of the material the teacher also does not do several learning steps in the classroom, namely the teacher does not convey the allocation of learning time, the teacher does not provide interesting learning media and the teacher does not apply learning strategies in groups. Likewise with the evaluation of learning the teacher does daily tests and daily tasks as usual and the learning outcomes of students also improved when compared to learning done at home.As for the limited face to face learning program, the reserarcher should have intiated 6 new steps, namely 1) Teachers deliver material by using learning methods that can attract students’ learning intersest, 2) Teachers provide student centered learning materials, 3) Teachers evaluate understanding students, 4) The teabhers desingns an assessment rubric, 5) The teacher acts as a motivation, 6) The teacher acts as a provide of learning experiences

Abstract

Currently, the learning concept used in realizing 21st-century learning is that students need media or facilities in learning activities to become fun. Educational comics are an alternative used as learning media to improve the quality of education for the better. This study uses the R & D (Research and Development) research method with the research stage of the Borg and Gall model, which has been modified by Sugiono and consists of 7 research stages due to time, cost, and also the impact of the co-19 pandemic. This study aims to: (1) describe the development of the educational comic "Science Detective" as a learning medium and (2) find out students' responses to the development of the educational comic "Science Detective" as a learning medium. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade elementary school students. The instruments in this study were product validation instruments and student responses, while the data analysis scale used was the Likert scale and Guttman scale. In making it, the applications used are Medibangpaint Photoshop CS3 and Canva. The results of the research show that: (1) the development in this study was declared fit for use as learning media; this was based on the validation of media and material designs with successive percentages of 94% and 92% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate" and "Not Revised". (2) the results of student responses or product trials of 8 elementary school students obtained a score with a percentage of 95% with the "Very Good" criterion.
