Abstract

Electronic documents are admissible as evidence under Law No. 11 of 2008 about Electronic Information and Transactions; consequently, it is vital to examine the use of electronic documents as evidence in positive Indonesian law and how electronic evidence is seen in Islamic law. Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah have specified the requirements for criminal proof in Islamic law. This is normative juridical research pertaining to legal norms and regulations, court decisions, and living norms that arise in society. According to the findings of the study, electronic media can be utilized as evidence, but not as standalone proof. In the Islamic legal system, electronic proof is accomplished by qarinah/guidance, next creed/witness, and ultimately book/writing. Therefore, it is anticipated that this research will provide a theoretical addition to the subject of Islamic law so that the use of electronic media will no longer be a legal issue and the public would be able to continue using them as evidence.

Abstract

History is a form of the collective memory of societies. The history of any society is not independent of others. Historiography traditionally focused on relations among political authorities, namely, states. Within this context, societies had been equated with states. Geographical discoveries, which began at the end of 15th century, culminated in the emergence of a Eurocentric view of world history. The development of Eurocentric historiography was not an outcome of convention, but rather a reflection of world politics at that time. Historians began to write history by treating states dominant at regional and global scale as basic to their work. In this study, it is explained that international politics has had an important role in the development of Eurocentric historiography. To this end, historiography and the links between society and modern states are examined; the development of the Eurocentric international system is reviewed; the re-construction of non-European society by modern states is assessed; whether or not non-European societies are capable of an alternative historiography is debated; and, finally, it is claimed that modern international practices have determinative influence in the development of Eurocentric historiography.

Abstract

Various environmental problems have become a central focus recently and are expected to increase in the coming years. God's command to Adam and Eve to fill and dominate the earth was not intended to exploit natural resources. As stated in Genesis 1:28,31; 2:15, one of God's purposes for creating humans is to inhabit, rule, and maintain the universe as a sustainable place to live. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a review of literature on ecotheology and analysis of Christian Religious Education in overcoming ecological problems. The basis for understanding environmental theology (ecotheology) is the awareness that the environmental crisis is not only a secular problem, but also a serious religious problem, because it stems from religious misunderstandings about life. Through environmental theology, a review is carried out on religious understandings in society, especially regarding the position of humans and their responsibilities in relation to the nature that has been inhabited. The environment is a very important subject to pay attention to and of course it must get special attention within the learning and application of Christian Religious Education.
