Abstract

Poverty is a common thing that can occur in every region, region, and even any country in this world. However, poverty is not to be enjoyed or inherited but must be fought for to be eradicated so that one gets freedom from the condition of poverty itself. Many factors cause a person to become poor, one of which is the inability of a person to regulate his mindset so that he is also unable to overcome poverty directly. The absence of proper education for the people has made them poor, and in the end, the right to welfare has become impossible. Education for the poor needs to be done because the understanding that poverty has oppressed humanity must be immediately addressed. The mindset that sees poverty as oppression and must be fought for is not born without being shaped and encouraged by the educational process. But education for the poor is not easy because the priority is the basic life needs. Paulo Freire's educational approach which emphasizes critical thinking and dialogue; is considered relevant to the condition of poverty in Indonesia. Freire supports the birth of a change in mindset to be free from poverty. From a Christian perspective, the church has a role in cultivating spirituality and caring for the poverty of the surrounding community. The church needs a model to carry out Christian Education for its citizens. Researchers see that the influence of Christian Education in the village of Tumbang Manyoi, Miri Manasa sub-district, Gunung Mas district, Central Kalimantan province is relevant for the application. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic studies. The research produces a model of Christian Education based on contextual cognition which emphasizes the concept of knowledge, experience, and application so that it can be applied in the church to people who are shackled by poverty.

Abstract

Jayapura City is one of the Papua Province’s capital cities with an increasing population. One of the areas in Jayapura City, especially Perumnas IV Padang Bulan, is surrounded by hills. Infrastructure development in the densely packed Perumnas IV Padang Bulan area and increasingly narrow land has forced the local community to build infrastructure under the foot of the hills. Infrastructure development under the foot of the mountains is very prone to landslides or soil movement. There is a retaining wall planned so that the movement of the soil is restrained by the retaining wall so that no landslides occur, which endanger the community in the Perumnas IV Padang Bulan area. From a survey of the Perumnas IV Padang Bulan area in the form of topographic data and cone penetration data (CPT), contour data and cone penetration results (CPT) data were obtained for QC and fs values, then soil type classification was carried out with empirical correlation approaches, then active earth pressure calculations were carried out and passive from Rankine’s theory. As well as planning a safe leaning type retaining wall. From the results of the planning that has been done, the plan obtained is a leaning type retaining wall with concrete material, the height of the retaining wall reaches 3.1 meters, and the width of the foundation is 2 meters. Safe against overturning, shearing, and soil-bearing capacity.

Abstract

The conflict between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir problem still seems to be an obstacle in their relations. It has been 58 years since the dispute passed, but there is no final agreement that can be accepted by both parties. If 1947 is the independence day of India and Pakistan, then this year is the beginning of the suffering of the people of Kashmir. Pakistan, as the party that has the right to make Kashmir part of its territory, feels the need to continue to raise this issue even though it has to develop nuclear power.

Abstract

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that the number of diabetics in Indonesia will reach 28.57 million (2045) from 19.47 million (2021). One of the populations that is susceptible to diabetes is the elderly due to decreased organ function. This is a challenge due to the increasing global and Indonesian elderly populations. This study used a cross-sectional design. The subjects of this study were the elderly (≥ 60 years), as many as 158 people with inclusion criteria. Sampling using multistage random sampling technique. Characteristic data obtained from interviews. BMI was obtained from anthropometric measurements (height and weight). Intake of magnesium and zinc was obtained from 2 times food recal 24 hour and SQ FFQ. Fasting blood sugar data obtained from fasting blood sugar examination. Statistical analysis using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the three variables (Magnesium intake, zinc intake, BMI) could have an effect on fasting blood sugar by 7.2%. The model that occurs is GDP = 150.4 + (1.708*BMI) + (-4.16*Intake of Magnesium) + (-0.063*Intake of Zinc). From this model it can be suggested that the elderly consume foods rich in magnesium and zinc and control BMI to avoid increasing fasting blood sugar levels.

Abstract

The era of globalization demands a change in the paradigm of public service in government characterized by clean government or what is known as good governance. This has become a concern for the local government. The effect is that the state civil apparatus, or ASN, is required to provide quality public services based on the principle of public service. For this reason, a strategy is needed to build ASN competencies that include knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Therefore, the research aims to analyze the competency development of the State Civil Apparatus in creating public service professionalism. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results of the study show that the creation of public service professionalism is highly dependent on the development of ASN competencies related to public services. This is supported by performance, employee accountability, employee loyalty, and employee capabilities. In this study, the authors suggest 6 points that can create public service professionalism if ASN competence is increased, namely increasing accountability, strengthening a sense of nationalism, forming public ethics, fostering an anti-corruption attitude, creating quality commitment, and providing optimal public services.
