Abstract

Local breed chicken is a type of chicken that is widely raised by rural communities. Local breed chicken feed is still limited to household food waste or left free to find food independently. Some are given additional feed in the form of corn or bran but without proper nutritional calculations. The right calculation on feeding will increase growth and the productivity of chickens. The additional feeds commonly used for the manufacture of local breed chicken feed are corn and rice bran which are available quite a lot and the prices are relatively cheap. The aim of this study was to determine the appropriate native chicken feed formulation. Five chicken feed formulations were made with the basic ingredients of corn and morning bran. The method used in this study was descriptive exploratory, the results of the feed formulation obtained from the research results were compared with SNI for broiler feed (SNI 01-3931-2006) and laying hens (SNI 01-3929-2006) because there was no standard feed for local breed chickens. village. The formulation results were tested for nutritional content including moisture, ash, protein, fat, and also crude fiber content. Based on the test results, it was found that the formulation of free-range chicken feed according to the SNI standards for broiler and layer chicken feed was the P2 formulation, with a ratio of 30 grams of corn and 24 grams of rice bran.

Abstract

The jackfruit chip industry in Cilacap produces one ton of processed per week. This production, besides producing processed jackfruit chips, it also produces waste in the form of jackfruit skin and jackfruit. If it is not processed and if it is disposed of into the environment, it will take a long time to decompose and cause a bad smell to humans. To overcome this waste, it is made into organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizers are fertilizers derived from various natural ingredients such as animal manure, animal body parts, plants, which are rich in organic compounds and are good for the use of soil enrichment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of cow dung and fruit waste in the manufacture of solid organic fertilizer by fermentation using the EM4 bioactivator, which was tested with chemical parameters such as C-Organic, water content, temperature and pH. The manufacture of solid organic fertilizer can be done by decomposing jackfruit skin waste and cow dung waste by fermentation using EM4 and molesses with ratio 1 :1 then observed for four weeks. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the temperature, pH, water content and C-organic content are in accordance with the quality standards of organic fertilizers. The highest organic C content was found in the second week of 60.87 and then decreased to 37,58.

Abstract

The research was conducted at Kebun Pendidikan dan Penelitian (KP 2) of the Yogyakarta Stiper Agricultural Institute located in Wedomartani Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, D.I.Y with an altitude of 118 meters above sea level. The study began in February 2022 until May 2022. This research was carried out using a two-factor experimental method arranged in a Completely Randomized Design: the first factor was the concentration of eco enzym which consisted of 4 levels, namely, control (0 ml/liter), 1 ml/ liter, 2 ml/liter, and 3 ml/liter. The second factor was the dose of P fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely: control (0 g/plant), 1.5 g/plant, 2.5 g/plant, and 3.5 g/plant. From these two factors, 4 x 4 = 16 treatment combinations were obtained, with each treatment being repeated 4 times so that the number of seeds obtained was 16 x 4 = 64 experimental plants. The research data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 5% level of significance. If there is a significant effect, the DMRT follow-up test is carried out at a significant level of 5%. The results showed that there was a significant interaction between the concentration of eco enzym treatment and the dose of P fertilizer on the root nodule weight parameter. The results showed that the combination treatment with eco enzym concentration of 3 ml/liter and P fertilizer dose of 1.5 gram/plant gave the best root nodule weight of Mucuna bracteata. The concentration of eco enzym and the dose of P fertilizer had the same effect on the growth of Mucuna bracteata.

Abstract

Mango seed kernel flour contains high carbohydrates, besides that it also contains almost equal levels of protein and fat, so it has the potential to be used as a substitute for wheat flour in making cookies. This study examined the effects of tape yeast and tempeh yeast at concentrations of 1%, 2% and 3% and fermentation times of 15, 28 and 41 h, so there were 18 experimental units. The best results were obtained by using 2% tempeh yeast for 41 hours, namely 7.18% protein. Further optimization of the fermentation process study gave optimum results in the fermentation process of 2.23% tempeh yeast in 500 g of mango seed kernel flour for 41,04 h. Under these processing conditions, mango seed kernel flour can be produced with a protein content of 7.24%. Furthermore, for the application of fermented mango seed kernel flour as a substitute for wheat flour in making cookies, the best results were obtained at a ratio of 30% mango kernel flour and 70% wheat flour based on the taste and aroma of the cookies product. Substitution of wheat with mango kernel flour is only feasible organoleptically at a maximum level of 30%.

Abstract

This research is based on the application of innovation, creativity, and differentiation of kue talam by utilising the ample availability of sweet corn by the wants and needs of consumers and producers. This study is based on the application of innovation, creativity, and differentiation of sweet corn talam cakes by utilising the ample availability of sweet corn by the wants and needs of consumers and producers, so that the cakes are attractive and tasty to increase the income of entrepreneurs and corn farmers. This study aims to analyse the business income of sweet corn talam cake agro-industry. To analyse the income of the sweet corn talam cake agro-industry business, it was carried out using quantitative descriptive methods using the income formula. The results showed that: The total cost required in the agro-industrial business of sweet corn talam cake is Rp 1,995,168; The total revenue obtained from the agro-industrial business of sweet corn talam cake is Rp 2,880,000, the amount of income earned is Rp 884,832.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan hasil pertanian semakin meningkat seiring jumlah penduduk yang semakin meningkat. Kemajuan akan teknologi terus meningkat, yang mengakibatkan industri pabrik semakin berkembang, sehingga menggeser banyak lahan pertanian terutama di daerah perkotaan yang menyebabkan lahan pertanian semakin terbatas. Hidroponik adalah salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan produktifitas tanaman terutama di lahan sempit. Pada budidaya hidroponik, media tanam dan larutan nutrisi merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman dan penentu hasil panen. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menentukan dampak pengembangan media dan nutrisi terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi pakcoy. Penelitian ini memakai Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), mencakup 2 variabel, yaitu unsur utamanya adalah media tanam (N) mencakup 3 aras yakni N1 (rockwool), N2 (arang sekam), N3 (cocopeat) unsur selanjutnya adalah jenis formula pupuk (P) dengan 2 aras yakni P1 dan P2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media tanam berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pakcoy pada tinggi tanaman, berat segar tanaman, berat segar layak konsumsi, formula nutrisi berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman pakcoy pada panjang akar, berat segar tanaman, berat segar layak konsumsi, dan terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara media tanam dan formula nutrisi terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi pakcoy pada panjang akar, berat segar tanaman, dan berat segar layak konsumsi. Abstract

Tilapia fish are susceptible to the process of decay, within 2 hours after death the tilapia fish will experience a decline in physical quality. Starfruit extract contains active compounds, namely saponins, triterpenoids and several minerals which are antibacterial substances. This research aims to determine the effect of starfruit extract on the total microbial test, water content and pH of tilapia during room temperature storage. Data analysis used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Data were analyzed descriptively for total microbial testing using the Indonesian National Standard calculation method SNI 2332.3-2015 and SNI 01-2346-2006. The differences in treatment in this study were made by differences in the concentration of starfruit extract. The concentration of starfruit juice given was 0 gr (P1), 40 g (P2), 60 gr (P3), 80 gr (P4) and 100 gr (P5) with four repetitions. The samples were then stored at room temperature for 8 hours. Based on the research results, it can be seen that starfruit extract has an influence on the total microbial value, Based on the research results, it can be seen that starfruit extract has an influence on the total microbial value, pH value and water content value of tilapia fish. The number of bacterial colonies in the treatment with the highest amount of extract (100 grams) with the lowest total microbial value was 2.49 x 105 colonies/g. Also, the pH value and water content of all treatments given starfruit extract were still included in the standards for fresh fish. Keywords: Tilapia, Wuluh Starfruit, Total Microbes

Abstract

Municipal solid waste (MSW) management must be sustainable in order to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and address health, environmental, and disposal challenges caused by the vast amounts of trash generated. MSW management going wrong puts locals in danger. In Pakistan, the production of municipal solid trash is rising daily. Urban settlers and other organizations gather a lot of waste in various forms, usually defiling and making our surroundings uninviting. Due to the indiscriminate dumping of various wastes, the soil quality in the metropolitan area has decreased as a result of solid and liquefied waste disposal. Significant environmental concerns regarding soil and water pollution arise from transferring contaminated garbage and mixed fluid outside of waste disposal borders. The impacts of municipal garbage disposal on soil and water quality at open waste dumping sites were the main focus of this review. Using a soil and water quality index, in many regions of the world especially in regions where waste management practices are insufficient, the contamination of soil and water owing to incorrect municipal solid waste disposal is a serious environmental hazard. Open dumping, unregulated landfilling, and illegal dumping are examples of improper waste disposal practices that can result in pollution that affects the quality of the soil and water. They must also seek to identify sustainable waste management solutions. The effect of these emitted gaseous emissions has, however, been thoroughly researched. To safeguard the environment and public health, quick action must be made to control trace element pollution.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Palm oil nurseries are the starting point that really determines the process and result of palm oil’s growth in the field. The fertilization process and using the right planting media can have a positive influence for the seedling growth process. This research aims to determine the effects of providing various types of LOF and planting media on the growth of palm oil’s seedling in pre-nursery step. This research was carried out at KP2 Institut Pertanian STIPER Yogyakarta which located in Wedomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta from March until June 2023. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method. The first factor was the different types of LOF which consisted of babana peels, coconut water and fruit waste. The second factor was the planting media that consisted of soil, soil : compost, and soil : rice husk with each planting media having the same ratio of 1 :1. The data result of this research were analyzed using ANOVA at 5% of real level, if there was a significant difference with the result then used the DMRT test with the range was 5% too. The results of this research showed that the application of various LOF types and planting media had the same effect for the plam oil seedling growth in pre-nursery steps. There was no real interaction between the provision of different LOF types and planting media on the palm oil seedling growth in pre-nursery steps. The use soil:compost has a positive effect on the growth of seedlings compared to the others. Keywords : palm oil, liquid organic fertilizer, planting media ABSTRAK Pembibitan kelapa sawit merupakan titik awal yang sangat menentukan proses serta hasil pertumbuhan kelapa sawit dilapangan. Proses pemupukan dan penggunaan media tanam yang tepat dapat memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap proses pertumbuhan bibit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian macam POC dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di pre nursery. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di KP2 Institut Pertanian STIPER Yogyakarta yang terletak di Wedomartani, Kecamatan Ngemplak, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta pada bulan Maret 2023 – Juni 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktor pertama adalah macam POC yang terdiri atas POC kulit pisang, POC air kelapa, dan POC limbah buah – buahan. Faktor kedua adalah media tanam yang terdiri atas tanah, tanah : kompos, tanah : sekam padi dengan tiap media tanam memiliki perbandingan 1 : 1. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA) pada jenjang nyata 5%, jika terdapat perbedaan nyata dilakukan uji DMRT dengan jenjang 5%. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian macam POC dan media tanam memberikan pengaruh yang sama baik terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di pre nursery. Tidak terdapat interaksi nyata antara pemberian macam POC dan media tanam yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di pre nursery. Abstract

Every day the traditional market produces garbage from rotting fruit. According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the incidence of waste produced in Indonesia is 23 million tons / year and 22.3% comes from traditional marketwaste. Fruit waste can be utilized into Organic Fertilizer Cwater (POC) in order to have a selling value and not pollute the environment. In thepreviousstudy, the additional material used was cassava and only measured the nutrient levels of Liquid Organic Fertilizer formed without application to the plant,so that in penelitian ini wasdone the addition of cassava peel in the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizers and its effectonthe growth of curly red chili plants. The method used is fermentation inside the reactor equipped with a temperature stabilizedbottle. Processing is carried out anaerobically for 2 weeks with a variety of additional materials in one of the reactors, namely the addition of cassava peel. The parameters to be observed are pH levels, viscosity, plant height and number of leaves. Based on the results of measurements of pH levels before fermentation and after fermentation, the pH of liquid organic fertilizers with the addition of cassava peel from 5 to 3 and pH of Liquid Organic Fertilizer without the addition of cassava peel from 6 to 4. The results of measurement of the viscosity level of Liquid Organic Fertilizer without cassava peel 9,544x10-4 N. s/m2 while liquid organic fertilizer without cassava peel 7,858x10-4 N. s/m2. This means that liquid organic fertilizer without cassava peel is more easily absorbed by the soil because the viscosity value is lower and close to the water viscosity value of7,768x10-4 N. s/m2. The application of Liquid Organic Fertilizer to the curly red chili plant canget a maximum result of its effect by Liquid Organic Fertilizer without the addition of cassava peel.
