Abstract

Numeracy skills are essential foundational competencies that must be mastered from the elementary school level. However, students' low interest in mathematics and high dependency on digital devices pose challenges that require innovative solutions. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Numeracy Module on Length Measurement (Monupa), supported by Kodular, as a contextual, interactive learning solution aligned with students’ digital habits. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The module's validity was assessed by content and media experts and implemented among second-grade elementary students. The findings revealed that Monupa is highly valid (100% and 92%) and effectively enhances students' numeracy skills, with an average N-Gain score of 0.16. The highest improvement was observed in students' understanding of using numbers in length measurement. The module was considered user-friendly and engaging, demonstrating potential to boost students' active participation. This development strengthens the integration of mobile technology with numeracy learning strategies grounded in real-life contexts. Monupa contributes to innovative Android-based learning media that are responsive to the demands of 21st-century elementary education. Keywords: Elementary numeracy module; length measurement; Android-based learning; Kodular; student numeracy literacy

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of using Wordwall educational games on the mathematics learning motivation of third-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study applied a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation involving 22 students. Three students representing high, moderate, and low motivation levels were selected for in-depth analysis. The findings revealed that the use of Wordwall had a positive effect on improving mathematics learning motivation, with the most significant contributions seen in the indicators of perseverance and interest in learning. Highly motivated students showed improvements across all indicators, moderately motivated students experienced gains in learning interest, while students with low motivation demonstrated initial engagement but still required additional guidance. The design of the "box-opening" and "spinning wheel" games effectively encouraged active interaction and cooperative student participation. These results suggest that Wordwall can serve as a technology-based pedagogical strategy relevant to enhancing student learning motivation. This study also contributes to the growing body of literature on the effectiveness of digital educational media in primary education, particularly in mathematics learning through interactive games. Keywords: Wordwall; learning motivation; mathematics; Madrasah Ibtidaiyah; educational games.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a website-based digital teaching material as an interactive learning medium for second-grade students at MIN 4 Palangka Raya in Indonesian language lessons focusing on traffic signs. Using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), the study involved validation by subject matter experts, design experts, and teachers. Field trials were conducted on 19 second-grade students. Validation results showed high feasibility, with scores of 96.18% (subject matter experts), 96.99% (design experts), and 96.43% (teachers). Field trials demonstrated a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain score of 0.73 (moderately effective) and an effectiveness rate of 94.61%. The teaching material effectively enhanced students' comprehension, engagement, and learning motivation. This research contributes theoretically to the development of technology-based teaching materials and offers practical solutions for innovative learning in the digital era. Recommendations for future research include developing similar teaching materials for other subjects and exploring Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies. Keywords: Digital teaching materials, interactive learning, website, traffic signs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reading comprehension ability of third-grade elementary school students and to identify the obstacles they face in understanding texts. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, oral tests, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students' reading comprehension ability falls into the "sufficient" category, with an average score of 66. The most mastered indicator was expressing opinions about the text content, while identifying main ideas and drawing conclusions were the weakest aspects. Obstacles included lack of focus while reading, low motivation and reading interest, and underutilized literacy facilities. This study recommends implementing more structured reading instruction strategies, strengthening school literacy culture, and fostering collaboration among teachers, parents, and institutions to build positive reading habits. Keywords: Reading comprehension, reading ability, reading difficulties, elementary

Abstract

The School Literacy Movement is a strategic initiative to enhance the reading and writing culture among elementary school students. This qualitative study aims to analyze the implementation and benefits of the literacy program at SD Islam Sultan Agung 2 Semarang in developing students' literacy skills, character, and creativity. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal and teachers. Data analysis was conducted using triangulation techniques, including data reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that the literacy program is implemented through various activities such as classroom reading corners, literacy wall magazines, morning Qur’an recitation, writing competitions, and storytelling events. These practices have been proven to enhance students' academic performance, particularly their reading comprehension and text analysis skills. Additionally, literacy activities contribute to the development of critical thinking, communication, and character values such as responsibility and empathy. The challenges identified include limited reading materials, inadequate library facilities, and minimal parental involvement. This study concludes that the School Literacy Movement plays a significant role in shaping literate and character-driven student profiles. The implications of this research highlight the need to strengthen collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and policymakers to ensure the sustainability of foundational literacy programs in elementary education. Keywords: School literacy movement, academic achievement, character development, reading culture
