Abstract

This study aimed to describe the learning management of Bahasa Indonesia at SMA Negeri 1 Kemtuk Gresi. This research method was qualitative research, with descriptive method. Data collection techniques were conducted with interview techniques, observations, and documentation studies. The sources of this research were principals, Bahasa Indonesia teachers, deputy principals of curriculum and students. The data analysis techniques used were by data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1) Planning of Bahasa Indonesia learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kemtuk Gresi was conducted by teachers of Bahasa Indonesia well, namely by preparing learning tools such as RPP, syllabus, semester programs and annual programs, (2) Organizing Bahasa Indonesia learning was done by dividing the theme or subject matter of each lesson material that would be presented in accordance with the time set by using the method of assignment, discussions, and lectures, (3) The implementation of Bahasa Indonesia learning was conducted in a structured manner in accordance with the learning tools or RPP, starting from the initial activities, core activities and final activities and (4) Evaluation of Bahasa Indonesia learning was carried out at a time when the learning process had not taken place with the pre-test, formative test and summative test assessment procedure.Keywords: Bahasa Indonesia; Learning; Management

Abstract

This research is motivated by the social problems faced by several developing countries. The contribution of women entrepreneurs is very important. Women's entrepreneurship can be said to be an agent of change because it plays an important role in socio-economic development and in poverty alleviation. The purpose of this study is to compare the role of women as social entrepreneurs in developing countries. The object of this research is women entrepreneurs from developing countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Sub-Saharan Africa, India, and Cameroon. Content analysis is a method used to analyze data. The results show that women entrepreneurs in developing countries have made a significant contribution to their society by adopting business models to offer creative solutions to social problems at hand. In other words, women entrepreneurs have become agents of change in society. The new findings show that in the context of social entrepreneurship, women are more suitable to lead social enterprises.Keywords: women entrepreneurs; change agents; social entrepreneurs; social enterprises

Abstract

The research was conducted in Jayapura city using qualitative approach and conducted for 5 (five) months. Data retrieval using observation techniques, interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and library studies. The data was analyzed descriptively. The short-term objectives of this study were: 1) Number of Literacy Communities in Jayapura City 2) Profile of each literacy community 3) Overview of the existence of literacy communities. The long-term goal is expected to provide reference contributions for the government and related agencies on the development of literacy, development of literacy and education communities in Jayapura City. Based on the processing of data obtained descriptively it could be said that the literacy movement in Jayapura city had developed quite well in recent years. This could be seen from various literacy activities such as training, competitions, seminars and book surgery. Support was also provided by governments and non-governmental agencies. Including the emergence of many Community Taman Baca Masyarakat (TBM) and literacy communities. There are 4 literacy communities that are considered to exist enough to conduct literacy activities in Jayapuara City, namely Sastra Papua community (Kosapa), Sekolah Menulis Papua community (SMP), Gerakan Papua Mengajar community (GPM) and the Pilamo Aksara Community. The community was profiled on behalf of other literacy communities in Jayapura.Keywords: community; literacy; literacy read

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership and students’ learning motivation in vocational schools in District Abepura Jayapura city of Papua Province. The study employed associative quantitative method. The subjects of the research were students of vocational schools in District Abepura, City of Jayapura, Papua Province with the population of 3.529 students and the sample of 97 students. The data for the research were mainly gathered from valid and reliable questionnaire, in depth-interview and also from related documentations. Pre-requisite test of data analysis included normality tets and linearity test. Data collected on the study were analysed using simple regression analysis through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 software for windows. The result of the study indicates that principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership held a positive and significant impact on students’ learning motivation in in vocational schools in District Abepura, City of Jayapura, Papua Province. The result of the study also demonstrates that there were significant relationship between principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership and students’ learning motivation at significant level of 0,000 < 0,05 and the impact score of 66,8 %  which shows positive value. This means that the higher the rate of  principal’s emotional-based intelligence leadership, the better the students’ learning motivation.  The finding of the study is expected to be used as a reference for educational stakeholders or teachers especially for the future education leaders in term of motivating students to learn better.Keywords: principal’s leadership; emotional intelligence; students’ learning motivation

Abstract

This study aims to describe the managerial competence of principals in improving the professional competence of teachers. The object of research is the principal and teachers in one of the public junior high schools in Jayapura. The approach used is descriptive qualitative which describes explicitly the managerial competence of the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies which were then analyzed and tested for validity using the triangulation method. The results of the study show that (1) the principal has carried out the planning function together with the teacher, namely preparing annual programs, semester programs, monthly programs, daily programs, and year-end programs. In addition, the principal and the teacher are directly involved in the preparation of the curriculum. (2) The principal carries out the organizing function by dividing tasks to each teacher according to their competences, the preparation of the school organizational structure always involves all competent school components. (3) The principal carries out the actuating function by motivating teachers for career development, ensuring the implementation of all planned school programs. (4) The principal carries out the control function by playing an active role in supervising and evaluating learning program. In addition, the principal supervises the teacher's performance and follows up on it.Keywords: Managerial competence; competences of teachers; Quantitative Research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the steps of the Internal Quality Assurance System (quality mapping, preparation of quality compliance plans, implementation of quality compliance, evaluation of quality audits and preparation of standards on National Standard in Education) at SD YPPK Gembala Baik, Jayapura City, Papua Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to a case study design. The object of research is the principal, the head of school quality assurance, the quality coordinators and the head of the school committee. The data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and checking documentation. The validity test of the data used data credibility techniques, namely triangulation, observation persistence, and peer discussion. Data analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion / verification. The results of this study indicate that in general, SD YPPK Gembala Baik, Jayapura City, Papua Province has implemented the SPMI steps properly according to the SPMI-Dikdasmen implementation guidelines in the following forms of activities. (1) lead the quality mapping process, ensure that the responsibility for quality mapping is shared and become part of school management, directs all school members to work together, focuses on evaluating and improving school quality; (2) planning for quality compliance through compiling RKS / RKAS documents; (3) carry out the fulfillment of quality by determining the person in charge and schedule, allocation of funding, according to conditions, and reporting of programs / activities; (4) carry out evaluation / internal audit by establishing evaluation indicators, compiling instruments, collecting data, analyzing and preparing recommendations; and (5) formulating new quality standards by implementing benchmarking, accessing rules related to SNP, studying and formulating quality indicators and their criteria in accordance with SNPs, socializing regulations, formulating indicators and establishing them with stakeholders as a reference for the initial quality of education.Keywords: internal; quality assurance system
