Abstract

Research Aims: The purpose of this research is to see the meaningfulness of life in the elderly. The ben-efits that are expected to be possessed in this research include theoretical benefits, which are expected to become reference material for the development of developmen-tal psychology, especially psychogerontology and practical benefits to become refer-ence material for psychologists, therapists, counselors, companions, and readers in an effort to increase the meaning of life in the elderly in general and in the elderly living in nursing homes in particular. Design/methodology/approach: The subject criteria for the study were elderly people who could still be invited to communicate and were in good general condition. These crite-ria are determined on the basis of consideration because this research was conducted using interviews as a method of collecting data. Research Findings: The results of this study indicate that the elderly have a good meaningful life. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research highlights unique aspects of that specific context, such as the lived experiences of older people in care homes and how it affects their meaning of life. This can make a valuable contribution to our understanding of how meaning in life is understood and experienced by older people in care homes, and provide new insights that can form the basis for the development of better care programmes.

Abstract

This study aims to find the effect of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial intentions in students. The method used in summarising the results of the journal review is a systematic literature review (SLR). The population of this research is college students. The results showed that: 1) entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial intentions in students does not affect directly but through mediation of other factors. 2) the duration of entrepreneurship education has a great influence on fostering entrepreneurial intentions in students. 3) entrepreneurship education should be delivered in adolescence by using learning techniques that follow the personal character of students. And also 4) entrepreneurship education is also able to influence the level of business activity or business performance of an entrepreneur.

Abstract

The development of information technology and these advancements impact human life as a whole, especially in the field of education and for teachers. In the current era of technology, unrestricted by space and time limitations, learning approaches can be student-focused, encouraging creativity and independent learning, and preparing them for global competition. E-learning-based learning provides advantages in the learning culture. Teachers need to continuously develop knowledge, skills, and abilities to facilitate effective learning. The advancement of information technology provides great opportunities and challenges for teachers to improve their competencies. Teacher competencies, including pedagogical, personality, social, and professional aspects, must be continually enhanced to address current global challenges. To face these challenges, teachers need to understand technology trends not lag, and be ready to adapt to changes in information technology.

Abstract

Research Aims: This research aims to explore and improve understanding and competence in business education. With a focus on developing curricula that are relevant to industry needs and technological developments, this research will identify best practices in business teaching and learning. Design/methodology/approach: This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by collecting and analyzing journals related to keywords. Based on the literature study conducted, it was found that with rapid changes in technology, global markets, and industrial dynamics, business education must continue to adapt so that students can face complex challenges and opportunities in the future. Research Findings: This research provides an opportunity to identify best practices, integrate the latest industry insights into the curriculum, and improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning methods. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: Thus, it is hoped that the research results can make a significant contribution to strengthening the existence of business education as a support for developing competent and adaptive human resources in a dynamic global context.

Abstract

Research Aims: This research aims to explore the relationship between social entrepreneurship and digital literacy in the digital 4.0 era, focusing on understanding the importance of digital literacy integration in accelerating innovation and creating greater social impact as well as raising public awareness of the importance of digital literacy and the creation of social entrepreneurship. Design/methodology/approach: The research method used is a systematic literature review to analyze the relationship. Research Findings: The results show that digital literacy plays a key role in developing social entrepreneurship, enabling access to digital business opportunities, improving operational efficiency, and expanding market reach globally. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: In conclusion, the integration of digital literacy in social entrepreneurship is an important strategy to create social value and raise public awareness of social and environmental issues in the current digital era.

Abstract

Research Aims: This research aims to examine the influence of Islamic social reporting (ISR) on financial performance (FP), with debt-to-asset ratio (DAR), asset turnover (AT), and company size (CS) as moderating variables. Design/methodology/approach: This research adopts a quantitative approach by conducting data analysis from the annual reports of manufacturing companies indexed in ISSI for the years 2020-2022, totaling 80 companies. The sampling technique employed is purposive sampling. Data analysis is conducted using Eviews software. Research Findings: The research findings indicate that asset turnover and company size have a significant positive effect on financial performance, while Islamic social reporting and debt to asset ratio do not have a significant effect on financial performance. Furthermore, the results suggest that asset turnover moderates the relationship between Islamic social reporting and financial performance, whereas debt to asset ratio and company size do not moderate the relationship between Islamic social reporting and financial performance. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This research provides information and insights to investors and companies regarding the factors influencing the financial performance of a company, thus serving as a basis for investment decision-making.

Abstract

Research Aims: Corporate social responsibility pays attention to researchers and predecessors. The increasingly widespread industrial activities are paying more attention to corporate social responsibility (CSR). The existence of industry in Indonesia causes demands on companies to become higher and every company is required not to prioritize profits, but companies must also have concern for the environment and the prosperity of the communities around the industry. Factors that can influence corporate social responsibility (CSR) are CEO Narcissism, Research and Development Investment and Company Size. Design/methodology/approach: This research used secondary data in the form of financial reports and company annual reports and collected 28 samples from 124 populations. Research Findings: This paper shows that CEO Narcissism has an influence on CSR, R&D Investment has no influence on CSR, Company Size has an influence on CSR, Company Size can moderate CEO Narcissism on CSR, but Company Size cannot moderate R&D Investment on CSR. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The researcher concluded the data that CEO Narcisssim can have an influence on the company's broad social responsibility (CSR) decision, R&D Investment cannot have an influence on CSR with investment not being able to make the company cover CSR broadly, Company Size can have an influence on CSR by The presence of high assets in a company can reveal CSR. Researchers also added company size as a moderator. The results obtained using data show that company size can moderate CEO Narcissism towards CSR but cannot moderate R&D Investment towards CSR.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study examines the determinants that influence the entrepreneurial aspirations of university students in East Sussex. The objective is to determine the primary factors that impact entrepreneurial intents and offer suggestions to cultivate a conducive atmosphere for student entrepreneurs. Design/methodology/approach: The study utilises a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. The study gathered quantitative data to determine the primary elements that influence entrepreneurial intentions, while qualitative data was used to gain a more profound understanding of students' experiences and perceptions. Research Findings: The key determinants recognised as significant influencers comprise self-efficacy, entrepreneurship education, risk tolerance, financial resources, and familial entrepreneurial heritage. Out of all these elements, self-efficacy was determined to have the most significant influence. Significant correlations were found between these traits and entrepreneurial tendencies. The qualitative findings highlight the importance of practical experiences and nurturing situations. Furthermore, other challenges, such as a scarcity of financial resources and concerns about potential failures, were also acknowledged. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study provides a thorough examination of the elements that impact the entrepreneurial inclinations of university students in East Sussex. This study adds to the current body of literature by emphasising the crucial importance of self-efficacy and the necessity for improved entrepreneurship education and support systems. The report offers pragmatic suggestions for universities and governments to establish a favourable environment for fostering entrepreneurial aspirations, ultimately leading to regional economic expansion and innovation. Subsequent studies should explore entrepreneurial tendencies across different domains and organisations, utilising longitudinal study designs to assess the enduring impacts of interventions.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to measure the influence of Persuasive Communication Competence on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, to measure the influence of Librarian Performance on User Satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library, Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a quantitative correlational method to understand the relationships between the variables. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) communication theory by Robert Cialdini is used in this study. The population for this study includes all individuals who have visited the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. The sampling technique used is Accidental Sampling. The instrument used is a digital questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to 392 respondents. Research Findings: The results indicate that significant positive influence of both persuasive communication competence and librarian performance on user satisfaction at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Library. Persuasive communication and librarian performance can explain 58.4% of the influence on customer satisfaction, which according to the Guilford scale falls into the moderate/medium category and has a fairly high influence. The remaining 41.6% is influenced by other unmeasured variables such as physical facilities, collection availability, service systems, information technology, and human resources Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The results of this research can be used as a basis for further research on a larger scale or in a different context such as research in more general libraries. In addition, the researcher recommends that future researchers can carry out further research by conducting a more detailed investigation into the persuasive communication competencies of librarians and their role. Diverse approaches can provide a more comprehensive understanding of how librarians' persuasive communication competencies and performance influence library use.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including financial markets. The cryptocurrency market, already renowned for its volatility, experienced a surge in activity and significant changes in investor behavior during this period. This research aims to analyze various economic behavioral anomalies that emerged in cryptocurrency transactions during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses a literature study method to identify several dominant behavioral anomalies, such as FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), Herding Behavior, Noise Trading, Overconfidence, and Anchoring Bias. These behavioral anomalies trigger extreme market volatility, asset bubbles, and financial losses for investors. This research highlights the importance of investor education, market regulation, and technology development to minimize the impact of behavioral anomalies and protect investors in the cryptocurrency market.
