Abstract

HIIT has been known to improve cognitive function. In addition to its effect on the hippocampal area. After HIIT training, BDNF levels also increase in the spinal cord, cerebellum and several cortical areas through increasing levels of Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1). In neurons, BDNF is present not only in the cytoplasm, but also near the dendritic spines, which influences their development. BDNF stimulates the process of neuroplasticity, which is manifested in neurogenesis, stimulation of the plasticity of serotoninergic, dopaminergic, cholinergic or noradrenergic neurons, dendritogenesis, and synaptogenesis. Moreover, BDNF facilitates the growth and survival of neurons and microglial cells. It also participates in cell differentiation, potentiation of signal transmission, induction, and maintenance of long-term potentiation of the synapse enhancement. Because of these properties, BDNF enhances cognition and takes part in emotional processes, spatial orientation and learning, as well as body coordination. Evidence suggests that IGF-1 is a major determinant of the effect of physical exercise on BDNF levels and thus on cognition more generally. There is an upregulation of Fndc5 gene expression in skeletal muscle and an increase in irisin after prolonged resistance training in rats and humans following HIIT training. When hippocampal Fndc5 was upregulated during exercise, BDNF and other neuroprotective genes were also activated in the rat hippocampus. Exercise-induced adult hippocampal neurogenesis is associated with increased Fndc5 and BDNF genes thus enhancing cognition. Then, stroke is associated with neuroinflammation that affects the processes of neuroplasticity in the lesion core, penumbra and small areas such as the spinal cord.

Abstract

Referring to the principle of uti possidetis juris, the establishment of the boundary line on Sebatik Island was based on a previous agreement between the Netherlands and the British. It was stated in the 1915 Agreement between the Netherlands and the British, which declared that the boundary line follows a parallel line of 4º10' North Latitude. Unfortunately, The Boundary Agreement of 1915 does not mention the datum and reference ellipsoid used to determine the abovementioned 4° 10' North Latitude. The absence of a datum and reference ellipsoid causes disputes in determining the precise location of boundary pillars during the field reconstruction procedure. A joint survey between Indonesia and Malaysia in 1983 found that most of the boundary pillars on Sebatik Island were not precisely located along the 4° 10' North Latitude line and based on the results of the 10th meeting of the Joint Working Group on the Outstanding Boundary Problems in 2018, Indonesia and Malaysia agreed to re-demarcate the boundary, which was carried out in 2019. This study aims to determine the impact of the 2019 re-demarcation of the boundary line between Indonesia and Malaysia on Sebatik Island. The methods applied in this research are in-depth interviews, observation, and document studies. The results found that the 2019 re-demarcation resulted in exchanging areas between Indonesia and Malaysia. This area exchange generates uncertainty about land ownership by citizens in border zones.

Abstract

Drug Recommendation systems have the capability to recommend drugs. On daily basis, a huge amount of data is being generated by the patients. All the valuable data can be properly utilized for creating a reliable drug recommendation system. In this paper, the researchers aimed to propose a system for drug recommendations. The main scope of the system is to predict the correct medication based on reviews and ratings. The proposed system uses Natural Language Processing techniques (NLP) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). The researchers also considered various metrices such as precision, recall, accuracy, f1 Score, roc curve as the measures of the system performance. Natural Language Processing techniques were used for gathering useful information from patients data, and RNN is a machine learning methodology, that works really well when it comes to analysing textual data. The system considers various patient data attributes like age, gender, dosage, medical history, symptom in order to make appropriate predictions. As the result, the proposed system has the potential to help medical professionals in making informed drug recommendations.

Abstract

The term marketing is closely related to the world of profit trading business. However, it is different now since marketing terms are needed in various institutions, especially in educational institutions. Researchers studied marketing strategy and brand equity management, promotion mix strategy, marketing mix strategy, brand equity management, and the impact on institutions from implementing marketing strategy and brand equity management. at YPI Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang. This study uses a qualitative approach. This research phase is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the completion stage. The researcher chose the research location at the Ar-Rohma Putri Islamic Education Foundation on Jl. Jambu, Semanding, Sumbersekar, Kec. Dau, Malang, East Java. Marketing strategy for marketing services through a promotional mix at the Islamic educational institution Ar-Rohmah Putri Islamic Boarding School Malang. The promotion mix is done through advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, word of mouth. Marketing strategy for marketing services through the marketing mix at the Islamic educational institution Ar-Rohmah Putri Islamic Boarding School Malang. The marketing mix for educational services includes product, price, location, promotion, people, physical evidence, and process.

Abstract

In organizations, especially government organizations, there are numerous elements that can impact the effectiveness of a leader, yet the most crucial one is the leader's own qualities and actions. This study aims to provide more specific examples or case studies to illustrate the impact of a leader's policies and actions on governance. Moreover, it would make the argument more compelling and relatable to readers in the context of regional government administration. The methodology used in the research is qualitative methods employed and how the data was collected and analyzed. The methods would establish the research's credibility and provide more context for the findings. Finally, it could be helpful to provide some practical recommendations or suggestions for how organizations or governments can improve their leadership selection and development processes. This study would add value for readers interested in applying the insights from the research to their contexts.

Abstract

This research is a research with event study method. The events observed are events that are affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. There are 3 events that will be examined in this study, namely the announcement of the covid-19 epidemic by WHO, which means including in Indonesia on March 11, 2020. The second event is the implementation of the PSBB for the first time in Indonesia, namely in the Capital Region of DKI Jakarta, which took effect on April 10, 2020. The third event was the announcement of OJK regulations, namely POJK Policy Number 11/POJK.02/2020 , on March 20 2020. From these events it will be associated with the economy in Indonesia, which is proxied by stock returns, because by looking at this stock return it describes the economy in a country. For this research it is only limited to the health care and financial sectors. These two sectors are considered to be the most affected by the presence of Covid-19. The methodology used in this research is the study of abnormal return testing events. The abnormal return calculation method uses the Market Model, with an estimated period of 60 days and a window period of 15 days. Testing with the average difference test before and after the event, with an error rate of 5%. The window period was taken at the start of the pandemic, then when the second period was at its peak, and when the pandemic had slumped. Differences in observations to be used as comparison material.

Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of the sustainable management of water resources in the mining industry. It presents an overview of various sustainable development frameworks for the mining sector, emphasizing the need for a more comprehensive and integrative approach to managing water resources. The paper also highlights the critical role of water in mining operations and the increasing pressure on water resources due to mining activities. Consequently, it underscores the significance of sustainable water management practices such as stakeholder engagement, catchment-based approaches, and adequate water management strategies. The researcher combined a qualitative approach with a methodology for conducting a literature review. The majority of the articles and other sources used to compile the study's data were books and academic publications that examined relevant subjects (Water sustainability, mineral mining, system thinking-based approach). The study advocates for a shift from traditional mechanistic models and linear thinking to a more holistic systems thinking approach for addressing the complex environmental challenges associated with water resources management in mining. Furthermore, it presents system dynamics modeling as a promising tool for understanding and predicting the behavior of complex water resource systems and devising appropriate strategies for sustainable outcomes. A conceptual framework for sustainable underground mine water management is proposed through a synthesis of previous studies. The framework integrates systems thinking and sustainability principles, paving the way for socially equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial water management strategies in the mining industry.

Abstract

PT KPI is the refining & petrochemical sub-holding company of PT Pertamina (Persero) that acts as a strategic holding company. PT KPI makes investments and runs Pertamina’s businesses in refining oil and gas and other materials to make high-value fuel, lubricant, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical products. Based on PT. KPI experiences, offently projects suffer delays and cost overruns which affect the quality of the project. This study aimed to evaluate the project execution strategy Design Build Competition (DBC) as strategy to improve project execution. This study starts with the identification of the issue, followed by data collection which covers primary and secondary data, after that the series of data were analyzed using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP).  The results showed that DBC strategy is the solution for PT. KPI to improve the execution of the project mainly in terms of duration and quality. The conclusion and recommendation of the study are that in order successfully executed DBC, PT. KPI should engage several strategic decisions which include organizational restructuring, resource allocation, and stakeholder management.

Abstract

The research objective is to analyze the difficulties faced by Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers in implementing the role of the Merdeka Curriculum in SMPN 9 Kota Bima. The research method used is qualitative research. The data collection method used in this research is observation, interviews, and documentation. The types of interviews conducted are structured and unstructured interviews. Meanwhile, the data collection technique used for the research subjects is purposive sampling. The research findings indicate that (1) there is a need for development in students literacy skills and a need for updating the reference materials used for learning, such as providing more update books and other learning materials; (2) The issue of students background and environmental influences that make it more difficult to apply conservative roles; (3) Some teachers are not yet proficient in using technology as a learning tool, and there are some students who do not have a handphone as a supporting tool for the learning process, thus making the learning process less effective; (4) Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers have difficulty controlling students' use of technology during the learning process. Next mstarting from the reduced norms of decency and decency due to the influence of social media content. and dsstudents are not focused during the learning process because they are busy using other applications.

Abstract

Chronic osteomyelitis is still common in the developing world and presents a continuing therapeutic challenge. Local antibiotic therapy is performed as the first stage treatment algorithm for 4 to 8 weeks. Given the high patient morbidity, mortality, and economic burden caused by osteomyelitis and its treatment, it is important to find another effective and efficient treatment.  Intravenous antibiotics and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) combination have shown effectiveness, but the potential of oral antibiotics and PMMA combination is still rare and is debatable. It aimed to compare efficacy among oral antibiotic-loaded PMMA in many concentrations (5%, 10%, 20%) and controls (0%) against Staphylococcus aureus. This experimental study was conducted in the Microbiology Department of Andalas University. The object was S. aureus. We used ten oral antibiotics and compared among its many concentrations (5%, 10%, 20%) and controls (0%).  Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) test. The lowest counts of S. aureus were found in ciprofloxacin 20%, followed by tetracycline 10%, erythromycin 5%, rifampicin 10%, ofloxacin 20%, clindamycin 20%, amoxiclav 20%, cefixime 5%, cotrimoxazole 20%, and chloramphenicol 20% consecutively. All oral antibiotics loaded PMMA in each concentration might reduce the number of colonies up to 90%. A study in 2013 revealed that a combination of several antibiotics and PMMA was proven to be effective. The oral antibiotics loaded PMMA in various concentrations have a significant bactericidal effect on the growth of S. aureus and able to reduce the number of S. aureus.
