Abstract

The background to this service activity is Indonesia's increasingly difficult economic conditions amidst rising dollar prices, inflation, and increasing unemployment and poverty rates. The main aim of this activity is to develop Muhya Gemilang Vocational School as a school with character that can act as a safety valve for the people's economy by managing local potential and the creative economy. The method of implementing activities involves an agreement between the service and the Kroya Muhammadiyah (PCM) Branch Leadership, as well as collaboration with Muhya Gemilang Vocational School. This activity includes fostering the discipline of educators and education personnel, building school infrastructure, and utilizing waqf land for agriculture and fisheries. Socialization and training are provided to students regarding fish farming, vegetable growing, and other entrepreneurial skills such as cutting hair, opening a motorbike repair shop, and becoming a content creator. The findings from this activity show that two main programs are being built by Muhya Gemilang Vocational School, namely building community trust and building the school as a center of excellence. Increasing the discipline of educators and education personnel has succeeded in increasing the number of students registering. Apart from that, collaboration with the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto in fish cultivation provides students with practical skills to manage the surrounding environment to be more productive. In conclusion, this activity succeeded in increasing public trust in Muhya Gemilang Vocational School and providing entrepreneurial skills to students who can contribute to overcoming local economic problems. A new and important aspect of this activity is the bottom-up approach in developing the creative economy through school initiatives and collaboration with the community.

Abstract

Ikan tawes (Barbonymus gonionotus) merupakan jenis ikan herbivora yang masih berpotensi dikembangkan. Pakan ikan jenis herbivora dapat berasal dari tumbuhan dan turunanya seperti daun talas, ampas tahu dan dedak halus yang banyak terdapat di masyarakat. Bahan baku lokal tersebut bisa dibuat pakan buatan sendiri sebagai substitusi pakan pabrikan (pellet) yang harganya cukup mahal. Sedangkan untuk meningkatkan imunitas diberikan imunostimulan yang berasal dari ekstraksi ragi roti Saccharomyces cerevisiae sebagai β-glucan yang diketahui dapat meningkatkan imunitas ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas pemberian diet suplemen β-glucan terhadap imunitas non-spesifik ikan tawes dan ikan mas. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan β-glucan dicampur kedalam pakan masing-masing dengan dosis 2,5; 5; 7,5 dan 10 g kg-1 pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan β-glucan lebih efektif diterapkan pada budidaya ikan tawes yang ditandai dengan besarnya nilai persentase monosit dan neutrofil serta nilai aktivitas aglutinasi dibanding ikan mas. Sedangkan ikan mas hanya  unggul pada parameter aktivitas fagositosis dibanding ikan tawes. Hal ini menunjukkan β-glucan dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan imunitas pada budidaya ikan, namun efektivitasnya  lebih baik pada ikan tawes dibanding ikan mas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the interests of Indonesian Khonghucu religious adherents, especially related to business and academia. The people of Khonghucu are known to be very good at doing business, so they are generally financially successful. Since obtaining legality since the time of President K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid, Khonghucu has now continued to develop. Among Khonghucu businessmen, are there those who choose to become academics, pursue religion more, and develop Khonghucu? This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The informan was a Khonghucu adherent who had succeeded in becoming a businessman and academic. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data validation is done by triangulation, both technique triangulation and source triangulation. The results showed that Khonghucu adherents in Indonesia are very interested in becoming entrepreneurs, although some of them prefer academic careers. Both options are influenced by family culture and values, labor market opportunities and demands, the influence of the educational environment and personal aspirations and abilities of individuals. Those in business contribute to Indonesia's economy, while those who choose academia preserve and pass on Confucian religious traditions to future generations. Both those who choose business and academia recognize that pursuing religion is a valuable devotion for Confucians and Indonesian society as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to elucidate initiatives fostering religious harmony, particularly among the Konghucu community and other religious groups in Indonesia—a diverse archipelagic nation with a myriad of ethnicities, religions, languages, customs, and beliefs. Embracing unity in diversity, the nation's individuals often prioritize ancestral traditions, language, and culture, shaping their perspectives on life. Despite these variations, the study underscores the nation's aspiration for perpetual unity. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach and discourse analysis methods, the research delves into Confucian values, focusing on religious tolerance. The process involves reviewing Konghucu scriptures, analyzing collected data, and systematically presenting enhanced research findings. The outcomes highlight continuous efforts to fortify unity and cohesion between the Konghucu community and other religious entities, emphasizing the universal teachings of love, peace, and tolerance inherent in all religions.

Abstract

This investigation aims to analyze the role of character education in fostering students' ethics and morality within the digital era.Utilizing a qualitative approach, this study explores the experiences of educators, students, and parents in implementing character education within formal educational environments.Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis.The findings indicate that character education exerts a substantial influence in enhancing students' ethical awareness and moral reasoning, particularly in navigating ethical challenges stemming from digital technology exposure. Nevertheless, the study also uncovers significant barriers to this goal, including the lack of value-based technology support and time constraints. The study's findings suggest that a collaborative effort among schools, families, and communities is essential to maximize the impact of character education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership process of principals with managerial competencies to improve the quality of education in primary schools. Initial observations show that there are still many school principals in the Adipala sub-district, Cilacap, who have not carried out their primary duties and functions correctly as leaders of educational units. The principal is the person who is responsible for and leads the school in managing school resources to achieve academic goals. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach to phenomenological studies. The informants in this study were five public elementary school principals in the Adipala sub-district. Data collection techniques by interview, observation, and study documentation. Activities in data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that principal leadership with excellent and practical managerial competence could improve the quality of education in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine and describe the role of the teacher in improving the character of discipline for students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were the principal, teachers, and students. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicated that the role of teachers in the character building of student discipline at SD Negeri 1 Kendaga is a teacher as an educator, a teacher as ainstructor, a teacher as a guide, a teacher as a trainer, and a teacher as an evaluator. The teacher's efforts in shaping student character are by using the method of habituation, exemplary, lectures and simulations.This research is useful for teachers, to be able to act as good role models, to provide guidance and supervision to improve students discipline.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses internalisasi nilai karakter religius di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Karangwangkal, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah sebagai refleksi dan referensi untuk mencegah dampak globalisasi terhadap karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 2 Karangwangkal, Banyumas dengan subjek penelitian: Kepala Sekolah, Guru kelas VI, dan Peserta didik kelas VI. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan uji kredibilitas dan triangulasi, baik triangulasi sumber maupun triangulasi teknik. Analisa data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, internalisasi nilai karakter religius di SD Negeri 2 Karangwangkal dilakukan melalui intrakurikuler berupa pembelajaran PPKn di kelas. Pelaksanaan internalisasi menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu transformasi nilai, transaksi nilai, dan transinternalisasi nilai. Terdapat sejumlah faktor yang memengaruhi internalisasi nilai karakter religius, baik faktor pendukung maupun faktor penghambat. Faktor pendukung di antaranya ialah, kesadaran diri dan kegiatan pembiasaan. Pembiasaan yang dilakukan berupa Shalat Dhuha, Menghafal Asmaul Husna, Shalat Dzuhur berjamaah, ekstrakurikuler baca tulis Alquran, Teladan guru. Adapun faktor yang menghambat di antaranya, motivasi peserta didik yang rendah, komunikasi dengan orang tua peserta didik kurang maksimal.

Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research that examines the case of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SD Negeri 2 Banjarsari Wetan in Pancasila Education students. Data collection utilizes interview, observation, and documentation study methods The results of the research found that teachers have applied Pancasila values in learning through various methods, such as reflective discussions and character- and culture-based learning. Teachers also strive to instill 21st century skills with the 6Cs (character, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication) in students. However, there are obstacles in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, such as lack of understanding of teachers, as well as challenges when adjusting the learning plan to classroom practice. Thus, it is necessary to increase training and provide facilities so that the Independent Curriculum can be applied optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of independent character education in Civic Education learning in Class V of SDN 2 Beji, Banyumas using the Merdeka Curriculum. The learning process is carried out in an integrative thematic manner, where learning combines various subjects in one theme, so that students can learn holistically and textually. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The main data sources come from interviews with Class V teachers, observations of Class V Civic Education learning, and interviews with Class V students, teachers, and principals, as well as documentation studies. The results of the study show that teaching independent character through Civic Education using the Merdeka Curriculum gives students the freedom to determine how to behave, process, think, and act creatively in order to develop each individual by determining their own destiny.
