Abstract

This research delves into the application of Uses and Gratifications (UGT) theory within the literature analyzing media consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic. Its primary objective is to elucidate and evaluate the usage of UGT in this context, supported by empirical findings and relevant theoretical frameworks. Employing a systematic literature review methodology, the study conducted a literature search in December 2021, utilizing the keywords "Uses and Gratifications" and "Covid." Through a meticulous process of inclusion and extraction, the researchers identified and analyzed 31 studies out of 214 journal articles that aligned with the search criteria. The amassed findings showcased that UGT wielded substantial influence over media users and their media consumption patterns during the pandemic. Moreover, the research unveiled the untapped potential of UGT as a fundamental theory that could further enrich the scope of investigations into media usage during crises. However, to enhance its application, the study advocates for variable adjustments, such as increasing the number of samples studied, to foster more comprehensive and robust future research. This systematic literature review emphasizes the significance of UGT in understanding media behaviors during the Covid-19 pandemic. It offers valuable insights to scholars and researchers, encouraging them to build upon these discoveries, thereby advancing our comprehension of media utilization trends amidst times of adversity. By leveraging UGT as a theoretical foundation, scholars can delve deeper into the intricacies of media consumption and its effects on individuals and society during periods of significant disruption and uncertainty.

Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the correlation between job satisfaction and turnover intention among employees at PT. X Yogyakarta. Utilizing a correlational design, the researchers sampled 48 participants aged between 21 to 48 years old, employing a saturated sampling technique. The research employed the Turnover Intention scale and the Job Satisfaction scale for measurement. The findings affirm a significant and negative relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention among PT. X Yogyakarta's workforce. In other words, higher job satisfaction levels correspond to lower turnover intention, while lower job satisfaction leads to higher turnover intention. These results have crucial implications for the organization, emphasizing the importance of enhancing job satisfaction to mitigate turnover intentions. By understanding the inverse relationship between these two variables, PT. X Yogyakarta can devise targeted strategies and interventions to improve overall employee satisfaction, consequently reducing turnover rates. It is worth noting that the study's correlational design does not imply causation, and further research might explore the underlying factors that contribute to job satisfaction and turnover intention at PT. X Yogyakarta. Nevertheless, these findings offer valuable insights for the organization to foster a positive work environment, boost employee morale, and retain a committed and satisfied workforce.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction among employees at PT. X Yogyakarta, with a participant pool of 48 individuals. The research adopted a correlational quantitative approach, employing a saturated sampling technique where the entire population of eligible employees participated. To assess work-life balance, the researchers utilized the Work-Life Balance Scale (WLBS), exhibiting high internal consistency with a Cronbach alpha of 0.942. Job satisfaction was measured using the Job Satisfaction Scale, which also demonstrated excellent reliability with a Cronbach alpha of 0.972. Data collection involved the distribution of questionnaires, and the subsequent data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25, employing the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The analysis yielded a correlation coefficient of r = 0.833, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This statistically significant positive correlation indicates a strong association between work-life balance and job satisfaction. In essence, the findings of this study highlight that an improved work-life balance positively influences job satisfaction among PT. X Yogyakarta employees. A higher level of work-life balance corresponds to higher job satisfaction, and vice versa. These results have important implications for the company, emphasizing the need to foster a conducive work-life balance for employees to enhance overall job satisfaction. However, further research could delve into the underlying factors that contribute to work-life balance and job satisfaction, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of this relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine hypotheses based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) regarding the relationship between consumer behavior and behavioral factors of recommendation intention in halal tourism. Indonesia, with the world's largest Muslim population, stands as a significant market for halal tourism. However, despite being a prominent halal tourist destination, Indonesia lags behind Malaysia, which raises questions about the dynamics of consumer behavior in promoting halal tourism in Indonesia. Consumer satisfaction has been identified as a crucial determinant of behavioral intentions influenced by behavioral factors. To investigate this phenomenon, cross-sectional data were collected from Muslim tourists using quantitative approaches through questionnaires. Structural equation model (SEM) analysis techniques were applied to draw meaningful insights from the data. The findings revealed that the coefficient of halal attitude significantly impacts the level of satisfaction among tourists, ultimately motivating them to recommend halal tourism in Indonesia. These results validate the role of intervening satisfaction proposed within the framework and provide deeper insights into the variables and mediators of perceived behavior and attitudes. These findings are instrumental in understanding the development of theoretically planned behaviors in the context of halal tourism. Understanding the factors influencing consumer behavior and recommendation intention in halal tourism can be crucial for enhancing Indonesia's position as a top halal tourist destination. By catering to the specific needs and preferences of Muslim tourists, Indonesia can elevate its appeal and attract a larger share of the growing halal tourism market.

Abstract

The world of education in Indonesia has faced significant scrutiny in recent times, with various groups expressing concerns over radicalism and intolerance. Media reports have highlighted incidents that seem to be on the rise. Presently, the Indonesian Islamic education system is perceived to be lacking in its reflection of the principle of moderation. This study aims to assess the importance of implementing "Religious Moderation" in Islamic education to address these issues. Using a qualitative approach, the research captures and describes the existing phenomena, focusing on the subject of the study. The findings indicate a growing number of radical and intolerant acts within the Islamic education domain, necessitating an effective solution to counter these problems. The concept of Religious Moderation, which is actively promoted by the government, emerges as a potent antidote to combat radicalism and intolerance. Its implementation is vital to foster an environment of balance and tolerance within Islamic education. Both students and educators play essential roles in embracing and promoting this concept. The urgency of incorporating religious moderation in the Islamic education system cannot be overstated. By instilling values of tolerance, open-mindedness, and mutual respect, students can develop a more comprehensive understanding of their faith and engage in a pluralistic society harmoniously. Moreover, educators must lead by example, embodying the principles of moderation to inspire and guide their students toward a path of peaceful coexistence and understanding.

Abstract

The development of telecommunications technology, such as BTS towers, has provided significant benefits to society. However, the Communication and Information Office (DISKOMINFO) of Mempawah District still faces challenges in managing telecommunications tower data using separate Microsoft Excel files. This causes the data retrieval process to be slow, hinders data changes, and increases the risk of errors. In order to address this problem, the Information Technology Division of DISKOMINFO Mempawah District has developed a web-based management information system to monitor and expedite the calculation of fees and the issuance of SKRD (Tower Utilization Permit). The waterfall development method was chosen to ensure a clear understanding of the system requirements before starting development, and to ensure that each phase is completed before moving on to the next phase. It is expected that the developed telecommunications tower fee payment system will support DISKOMINFO in ensuring timely fee payments, which are crucial for the development of the telecommunications industry and the overall economy.
