Abstract

This article examines the rational Islamic thought of Muhammad Abduh, a prominent 19th-century Muslim scholar. The method used in this article is a literature review approach, using relevant literature as research material and sources. The result of this research is that Abduh offered an Islamic approach that emphasizes rational understanding, criticism, and modernization in interpreting Islamic teachings. Abduh argued that Islam is compatible with reason and scientific advancement, rejecting blind adherence (taqlid) and encouraging Muslims to perform ijtihad in understanding sacred texts. He emphasized the importance of reforming Islamic thought to address contemporary challenges. This article explains Abduh's ideas on educational reform, Qur'anic interpretation, and the role of reason in understanding Islamic teachings. A critical analysis of Abduh's thoughts is also presented to assess his contributions and limitations in contemporary Islamic thought discourse.

Abstract

The concept of integration-interconnection is no longer unfamiliar, and it has even become an ideology in Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN). In this integration, Amin Abdullah employs Al-Jabiri’s epistemology, which consists of three modes of reasoning: bayani, burhani, and irfani. In Bayani reasoning, rationality is used merely as a tool to justify texts, while in Burhani reasoning, rational thought is applied to seek objective truth. The source of the texts in Burhani's reasoning is reality. Additionally, the thinking method that connects the two is intuitive reasoning. Intuitive reasoning draws its source from experiences and spiritual insights, which are intersubjective. To delve deeper into Amin Abdullah’s concept of integration-interconnection, an understanding of these three modes of reasoning is essential. Therefore, this article will explore Bayani, Burhani, and Irfani's reasoning in more detail. This research is a literature review, gathering data from primary and secondary sources. The primary sources are literature that discusses M. Amin Abdullah’s integrative-interconnective concept, while the secondary sources are complementary scientific literature. The result of this research is an explanation of the relationship between bayani, Burhani, and Irfani reasoning within the integrative-interconnective knowledge concept of Amin Abdullah.

Abstract

This study has several pedagogical implications. For instance, when seeking a solution or treatment of career women after marriage can be more empathy and discussion in the form of a cultural approach if there are autobiographies that narrate matters experienced during romantic relationships outside Western culture. This study has implications for the ways marriage and family education can be implemented in daily life using what is already known. At its core, this study shows that professional women are more likely to be the party who files for divorce than their non-professional counterparts. It says a lot if the career woman is going to work much harder at not getting pregnant than she would have just sat out on all the sex, which must mean her reasons for doing it are stronger than yours. Another thing is responsible conditions from the husband and external factors including a third party. The result of this study suggests the importance and impact of family and society in shaping each marriage process. This proposal shows that the marriage.

Abstract

In Indonesia, a marriage is considered legally valid by the state if it is recorded by the Marriage Registrar (PPN). This is by Article 2, paragraph 1 of Law No. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, which states that every marriage must be registered according to the applicable laws. Before the marriage is recorded, the bride and groom (catin) and the marriage guardian must undergo the rafa’ process. Rafa’ is a prerequisite that must be followed by the bride and groom and the marriage guardian for the marriage to be legally recognized. This study addresses two main issues: (1) What is the mechanism of rafa’ at the KUA of Jombang Subdistrict, Jombang Regency? (2) How is the rafa’ mechanism at the KUA of Jombang Subdistrict viewed from the perspective of Maslahah? This research uses a juridical-empirical approach with a qualitative research type and a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection was conducted through observation, documentation, and interviews, which were then analyzed using the Maslahah Al-Syatibi approach. This study concludes two things. First, the rafa’ mechanism at the KUA of Jombang Subdistrict, Jombang Regency complies with the provisions of Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation No. 20 of 2019. Second, the stages and procedures of rafa’ at the KUA are consistent with the maslahah theory proposed by Imam al-Syatibi, where the maslahah values embedded in rafa’ align with the values derived from Islamic legal sources.

Abstract

Formative assessment enhances students' potential and achievement by evaluating their learning outcomes. It helps determine whether the learning material needs to be revisited based on assessment results. Formative assessment is conducted during the learning process to provide continuous feedback to students. Its goal is to monitor students' progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and offering appropriate guidance to improve learning. This Research and Development study employed the ADDIE model, which includes the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. Data collection methods used in this research included observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The respondents consisted of material experts, assessment experts, educators, and students. The techniques employed were descriptive qualitative, descriptive quantitative, and Rasch model analysis. Validation results from material and assessment experts showed that the content aspect had an average score of 83.3% (very valid), the constructed aspect scored 87.5% (very valid), and the appearance aspect scored 75% (valid). The practicality aspect achieved an average score of 97.5% (very valid). The questionnaire results from material experts, assessment experts, educators, and students indicated that the readability aspect received an average score of 93% (very valid). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the formative assessment developed meets the criteria for validity. The Rasch model analysis also indicated that all 20 items met the criteria for item reliability, person reliability, and Cronbach's alpha, concluding that the formative assessment developed is reliable.

Abstract

Teaching is the main task of an educator. Creative educators will always create ideas for designing new learning systems that enable students to achieve their learning goals satisfactorily. Learning methods that are interesting and actively involve students tend to be more effective. type cooperative learning requires each student to contribute to their group. Apart from that, group members can support and motivate each other and improve each student's understanding. The research method used is a quantitative quasi-experiment (Quasi Experiment) with a research design. Sampling was carried out using the Purposive Sampling technique. Each sample in the experimental class and control class consisted of 32 students. This research data was obtained from the results of the posttest and pretest which used multiple-choice questions totaling 20 questions. Data collection was carried out using observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques include validity testing to determine whether the research instruments used are reliable and hypothesis testing to determine if there is a significant influence on the sample. The average result for the Experiment class was 94.53 while the control class was 52.19. Based on research, the results showed that the use of the learning model in experimental classes was more effective in improving student learning outcomes compared to classes that used conventional approaches in PAI and Character subjects in class VII. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of the learning model on student learning outcomes in Islamic Education and Character subjects in Class VII at SMPN 1 Sumberrejo

Abstract

Education practices have shifted to online classrooms in this pandemic era. The lecturers and the students met online via Zoom, g-meet, etc. This study aims to reveal the use of code-switching as a language teaching strategy in EFL online classrooms. Code-switching refers to using multiple linguistic codes to communicate by any classroom participants. This study is qualitative research. The researcher analyzes and describes the functions of code-switching the lecturers perform in their natural classroom without manipulating the variables. The data is taken through class observation and questionnaires. The class is recorded, then the utterances are transcribed. This study found that the lecturers of the undergraduate program performed situational code-switching and metaphorical code-switching. The lecturers use code-switching mostly to add some information related to the lesson. The code-switching has function as clarification, repetition, recapitulation, and socialization. The lecturers have a positive attitude in using code-switching to help students understand the lesson well.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education and Ethics (PAI-BP) by applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. The focus of the material is on worship, including the eclipse prayer, istisqa prayer, and funeral prayer. This research was conducted in class VIII E at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjunganom during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, involving 32 students. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, consisting of two cycles, each comprising the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results indicated that the implementation of the PBL method significantly improved student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the increase in the class average score and the percentage of mastery from the pre-cycle to the first and second cycles. PBL also enhanced students' active participation in the learning process. Therefore, the PBL method is effective in improving learning outcomes on worship-related topics in the PAI-BP subject.
