Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the variables that affect the command of English of Tadris English students. This study uses a qualitative method and is descriptive. Tadris English students at the As'adiyah Sengkang Islamic Institute served as the research's informants. Two methods of gathering data were conducted: interviews and documentation. Using data gathering techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion are the steps in the data analysis process. Veracity testing is done using three different sources and approaches. According to the research's findings, the following variables affect students' proficiency in the English language: 1) Listening skills: children in this instance have a limited vocabulary and lack focus. 2) Students' limited vocabulary and reading motivation are elements that affect their reading abilities. Speaking ability, in this instance, is determined by students' lack of confidence and their inability to grasp the majority of grammatical constructions. 4) Poor writing proficiency, low interest, and a lack of support from their surroundings are issues that affect students.

Abstract

Insecurity is a concern in the North Eastern (N.E.) and North Rift (N.R.) parts of Kenya. The study aimed to assess the effects of insecurity on educational delivery in public schools in these regions. The objectives were to establish the causes and nature of insecurity, the effects of insecurity on attendance, and the way forward to insecurity on educational delivery in these regions. The study utilized a meta-analytic approach, according to Ferrer (1998). Results indicate that livestock rustling and terrorist attacks from Al-Shabaab are major causes of insecurity. The recent mass exodus of teachers from the Northeast region has challenged education delivery. Insecurity has led to low student attendance and school closures. The findings have implications for national governments, such as the Ministry of Interior and county governments, who must devise sustainable and robust security logistics to foster peaceful coexistence. This would not only enhance the delivery of education effectively but also streamline other transactions that are common in every society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Google Earth on the learning motivation of elementary school students in Jakarta using the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) model. The sample consists of 40 fifth-grade students from a Jakarta elementary school. This is qualitative and quantitative research. The study's average results indicate that using Google Earth motivates 45.5% of students to learn. Before and after using Google Earth, based on the presentation, there was an increase of 23% in the learning motivation of Jakarta elementary school students. Before using Google Earth, student learning motivation was at 34%. Meanwhile, after using Google Earth, students' learning motivation increased by 57%. This study uses the RADEC model (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) in teaching and learning activities. Then, we discovered that Google Earth had an influence on indicators of students' learning motivation, such as their desire to learn, their needs, their ability to reach goals, their encouragement, and the creation of a pleasant learning atmosphere. Earth. The RADEC model with Google Earth technology further increases elementary school students' learning motivation compared to the RADEC model without Google Earth technology.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of leg press training and squat training on the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. The study employed a quasi-experimental research method, utilizing a two-group pre- and post-test design on a sample of 20 individuals. The matched ordinal pairing technique ranked the attack ability based on the pre-test results, resulting in the formation of two treatment groups. Each group consisted of 10 people using leg press exercises, and one group used squat exercises. We carried out the treatment for 16 meetings, training three times a week, performing 3–4 sets and 10–14 repetitions, and loading each sample according to their individual abilities. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that leg press training had a significant effect of -3,959 > α. 0.05 on the attack ability of degen weapons in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. Squat training has a significant effect of -8,200 > α 0.05 on the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. The effect of squat training is more effective when compared to leg press training in increasing the ability of degen weapon attacks in South Sulawesi athletes' fencing. Squat training is more effective because the movement characteristics of squat training are closer to the characteristics of attack movements in fencing. The results of this study recommend that coaches and athletes, to improve their dominant physical components to increase their ability to attack weapons in fencing, should choose leg press and squat exercises.
