Dharma Sastra merupakan jurnal ilmiah nasional yang memuat tentang hasil penelitian bahasa dan sastra daerah. Jurnal ini mencakup kaidah kebahasaan sekaligus didedikasikan untuk pelestarian bahasa daerah nusantara. Upaya ini sangat penting sebagai edukasi keanekaragaman bahasa daerah termasuk pengetahuan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam ragam sastra daerah nusantara. Abstract

This study examines a short story titled Liang Galang Makolang, which appears in the short story collection Ngetélang Getih Kaang Putih, written by Ni Putu Ayu Suaningsih. The objective of this research is to describe the social aspects reflected in the short story Liang Galang Makolang. The study employs a literary sociology approach based on the theoretical framework proposed by Ratna. The research method and techniques are divided into three stages: (1) data collection utilizes the observational method supported by note-taking and translation techniques; (2) data analysis applies a qualitative method assisted by descriptive-analytical techniques; and (3) the presentation of research findings uses an informal method supported by both deductive and inductive techniques. The results of this study reveal several social aspects within the short story, including aspects of kinship, economic conditions, love and compassion, and morality.

Abstract

This research, titled "Social Values in Komang Adnyana's Short Story 'Ngantén'," delves into a specific short story, "Ngantén." This particular piece is one of the many compelling titles found within the "Métek Bintang " short story collection. The themes explored in "Métek-Bintang" are remarkably diverse and engaging, encompassing contemporary issues such as transgender identity, LGBTQ+ concerns, child trafficking, and numerous other fascinating topics that significantly enrich modern Balinese literature. The primary objective of this analysis is to ascertain the social values embedded within the chosen short story. To achieve this, the study employed a methodical approach, dividing its research techniques into three distinct stages. Data provision involved observation and careful reading, complemented by translation techniques to ensure accurate comprehension, and meticulous note-taking. The subsequent data analysis phase utilized a qualitative method, supported by descriptive analytical techniques to thoroughly interpret the findings. Finally, the presentation of the analysis results was conducted using an informal method for clear communication. This research specifically adopted a sociology of literature approach to examine the interplay between the literary work and its societal context. The findings reveal the presence of five key social values within the short story: religious values, mutual assistance, forgiveness, compassion, and responsibility

Abstract

This research is based on the low interest of students in the material of orti Bali. Therefore, innovation in more engaging learning media is needed. The aim of this study is to develop multimedia learning for the Balinese language based on Google Sites for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Kuta Selatan. The research problems include how to develop multimedia learning for the Balinese language based on Google Sites, the challenges faced, the efforts made during the development process, and the implications of multimedia use on students in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study utilizes Richard E. Mayer's cognitive multimedia theory and Edward L. Deci and Richard M. Ryan's self-determination theory. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) following the Borg and Gall model. The development of multimedia learning for the Balinese language based on Google Sites for Balinese orti material at SMP Negeri 5 Kuta Selatan has been successfully implemented and received very good validation from subject matter and media experts, with eligibility percentages of 97.92% and 90.38%, respectively. The challenges faced in the learning process, such as limited teacher time, inadequate facilities, and limited understanding of technology, require a strategic approach to address them. One effective solution is to create a flexible schedule that allows teachers to arrange their teaching time according to the needs of the students. Additionally, training for teachers is crucial to enhance their skills in utilizing educational technology. With proper training, teachers will not only be better prepared to teach but also able to adapt innovative teaching methods. The implications of using this approach are very positive. The improvement in students' cognitive understanding is evident from their academic progress, as they can master the material more effectively. Students' affective motivation also increases, as they feel more engaged and in control of their learning process. Furthermore, students' psychomotor participation in learning, which includes practical skills and social interaction, has also improved. All these factors contribute to the creation of a more dynamic and effective learning environment, which can ultimately produce graduates who are better prepared to face future challenges.

Abstract

The progress of the tourism industry in Bali has gained recognition both nationally and internationally. The proximity of an area to tourist destinations naturally influences the social status of the local community. The social conditions of such communities also affect the residents’ proficiency in using the Balinese language. In this context, the researcher conducted a study to examine the maintenance of the Balinese language in Anyar Kelod, Kerobokan Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach. The data were obtained from the local community through observation and interview techniques. The collected data were analyzed through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Balinese language is still used within the Anyar Kelod community, Kerobokan Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency. However, further efforts are needed to enhance the community’s Balinese language proficiency. Various initiatives have been undertaken to address challenges in language maintenance, one of which is the annual celebration of the Balinese Language Month (Bulan Bahasa Bali).

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the female characters in Putu Supartika's short story, "Luh Sekar lan Satuané Rikala Ujané Bales Tusing Dadi Tanggehang." This story contains numerous aspects of feminist discourse, interwoven with social critique of related phenomena in Balinese society. The data analysis was conducted using two primary methods, beginning with structural literary analysis. The findings indicate that the short story "Luh Sekar lan Satuané Rikala Ujané Bales Tusing Dadi Tanggehang" explores the theme of a father's cruelty, where the characters Luh Sekar and her Mother consistently experience situations that violate norms and their rights as women. The story features three characters and their distinct personalities, set primarily in a house, a room, and a community health center (Puskesmas), and employs a linear plot progression. Subsequently, the literary work was analyzed using feminist literary theory. The research findings related to the female characters reveal various elements of feminism. Relevant sentences, paragraphs, and dialogue excerpts were collected and thoroughly examined through the lens of feminist literary criticism.

Abstract

This article examines the Satua Bali Purwa entitled “Pamargan Ida Batur Taskara.” This traditional Balinese literary work embodies profound moral, social, and spiritual values that remain relevant to contemporary life. The study aims to identify and analyze the intrinsic elements as well as the moral and spiritual dimensions contained within the satua, while also revealing the Hindu religious teachings and values underlying its formation. Intrinsically, the main theme centers on repentance and the law of Karma Phala, narrating the spiritual journey of Batur Taskara a character who initially lived in wrongdoing and chaos, but later attained self-awareness and purification of the soul. The plot develops progressively, illustrating the transformation of the protagonist. Extrinsically, the story reflects the worldview of Balinese society rooted in Hindu philosophy, encompassing the values of Tri Hita Karana, Catur Marga Yoga, Sad Ripu, and Karma Phala. Through these teachings, the work emphasizes the importance of maintaining harmony between human beings and God (Parhyangan), among fellow humans (Pawongan), and with the natural environment (Palemahan), as well as the need for self-control over worldly desires and passions. The moral and religious values embedded in this satua not only mirror the spiritual life of Balinese society but also serve as an effective medium for character education instilling virtue, honesty, and ethical awareness in future generations. Therefore, the study of Pamargan Ida Batur Taskara demonstrates that Satua Bali Purwa remains highly relevant in strengthening cultural identity, preserving Hindu teachings, and fostering noble character in facing the challenges of the modern era
