Abstract

The In the era of globalization, cross-cultural collaboration has become increasingly important in educational management, including within Islamic educational institutions operating in multicultural societies. This study aims to explore the application of cross-cultural collaboration in Islamic educational management and its impact on students' character development and multicultural understanding. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews to identify cross-cultural collaboration patterns within Islamic educational environments. The findings reveal that cross-cultural collaboration in Islamic educational institutions not only enhances students' understanding of cultural diversity but also strengthens social relationships among students and educators. However, challenges such as differences in values, language, and communication styles hinder the collaboration process. The implications of this study suggest that cross-cultural collaboration in Islamic educational management requires support from inclusive educational policies and the development of a culturally responsive curriculum. This study contributes to improving collaborative practices in Islamic educational institutions as a means of fostering a more tolerant and open-minded generation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom learning model in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education at SMK Taruna Bandar Lampung. The research was motivated by the low levels of student engagement and critical thinking ability, largely due to the continued dominance of traditional teaching approaches. A quantitative approach was employed, using a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 60 eleventh-grade students divided into two groups: an experimental group (Flipped Classroom) and a control group (conventional learning). The research instrument was a validated 20-item multiple-choice test. Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Levene's Test for homogeneity, independent sample t-test, N-Gain, and Cohen’s d effect size, assisted by SPSS 23.0 and Excel 2013. The results showed that the Flipped Classroom model was significantly more effective in improving critical thinking skills than the conventional method (p < 0.05), with an average N-Gain of 0.72 (high category) in the experimental group and a large effect size. These findings highlight the importance of student-centered, technology-based instructional innovations in strengthening critical thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the factors that hinder adolescents from pursuing higher education in Komba Village, Luwu Regency. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, the research delves into the subjective experiences of adolescents, parents, and local community leaders through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the barriers faced by adolescents stem from both internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation and interest in continuing education, the desire for economic independence, and cultural influences such as early marriage. External factors involve the limited role of parents, an unsupportive social environment, and constrained family economic conditions. Moreover, prevailing societal views that higher education does not guarantee a better future further reinforce these barriers. This study recommends the adoption of a holistic and community-based approach through education, strengthening the roles of families and community leaders, and providing scholarship programs to encourage adolescents to pursue higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate Paulo Freire's theory of education for liberation within the context of non-formal education in Indonesia. Freire's theory, emphasizing the importance of critical consciousness, dialogue, and the active role of learners in the educational process, serves as a conceptual foundation for designing emancipatory educational practices, particularly for marginalized groups. Employing a literature review method, this research examines studies relevant to Freire's ideas and their implementation in non-formal education, especially community-based approaches oriented towards community empowerment. The analysis reveals that applying Freire's critical education principles can strengthen learners' positions as subjects in the learning process and promote social transformation through contextual and participatory education. These findings recommend the development of non-formal education models that are more reflective, dialogical, and rooted in the learners' social realities, as efforts toward transformative and inclusive education.

Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of fairness as a fundamental requirement in polygamous marriages, particularly in the context of applying for polygamy permits, from the perspective of judges at the Sangatta Religious Court. The research employs a qualitative field study approach, with data collected directly from the Sangatta Religious Court through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study's informants consist of three judges from the court. To ensure the validity and reliability of the data, triangulation methods and reliability testing were applied. The findings reveal that the judges at the Sangatta Religious Court interpret fairness in polygamous marriages primarily in material terms. Fairness is seen as the husband's ability to meet the basic needs of each wife—such as food, clothing, housing, and equitable night shifts—in a proportional manner, tailored to each wife's needs. Emotional aspects such as love, affection, and attention are considered subjective and thus fall outside the domain of judicial assessment of fairness. Furthermore, the requirement to act fairly is a critical factor influencing the approval of polygamy applications. This requirement is often presented through a formal statement of fairness delivered in court, which becomes a key consideration for judges during the decision-making process. The court's decision is also supported by trial evidence, corroborated by written documentation, and guided by considerations of potential benefits or harms resulting from the polygamous marriage.

Abstract

Infidelity is a form of emotional and physical violation committed by an individual who is already in a committed relationship, involving a third party outside that relationship. From a psychological perspective, infidelity is often triggered by dissatisfaction within the marriage, failure to meet emotional and sexual needs, and psychodynamic factors such as unresolved past traumas. Legally, in the Indonesian context, such behavior is referred to as “overspel” or adultery, as regulated under Article 284 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), while in Islamic law, it is categorized into zina muhsan and zina ghairu muhsan. This study identifies eight primary causes of infidelity, ranging from marital crisis phases and the presence of a third party to personality dynamics. The consequences of infidelity are complex, spanning medical aspects (such as the transmission of diseases), psychological effects (including emotional trauma), and social impacts (such as divorce and domestic violence). Domestic violence (DV) itself is defined as physical, emotional, sexual, or economic abuse committed against family members, resulting in significant suffering and harm. According to Law No. 23 of 2004 on the Elimination of Domestic Violence in Indonesia, DV constitutes a violation of human rights and is subject to legal reporting and prosecution. This study emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in analyzing the interrelated phenomena of infidelity and domestic violence, advocating for comprehensive social and legal support systems for victims. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, this research aims to provide a holistic depiction of infidelity and domestic violence as interconnected social and psychological issues, highlighting the urgent need for sustained preventive and rehabilitative interventions.
