Abstract

This study explores the thought of Hasan Hanafi within the framework of social reconstruction in response to the Industrial Revolution from the perspective of Islamic theology. The central focus is on how Hanafi, as a prominent figure in contemporary Islamic intellectual reform, offers a significant contribution in shifting Islamic theology from a theocentric and abstract orientation to a praxis-based, transformative, and socially grounded discourse.. This concept urges Muslims to contextualize religious teachings to address social, political, and economic challenges in a tangible manner. Hanafi employs a critical hermeneutic approach, particularly in reinterpreting religious texts from an anthropocentric perspective that centers on human beings and their social realities. This research adopts a qualitative methodology through library research, relying on secondary sources such as books, journals, and Hanafi’s own works. The study aims to demonstrate how Hasan Hanafi’s ideas can serve as a foundation for social reconstruction in addressing the challenges posed by the Industrial Revolution within Islamic theological discourse. This research contributes to Islamic studies by highlighting the relevance of Hasan Hanafi’s anthropocentric and liberation-oriented theology in constructing a socially engaged theological response to contemporary global transformations, particularly those brought about by industrial and technological revolutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the various strategic roles of school principals in the context of Islamic schools, especially in improving the quality of educator performance and strengthening educational governance based on Islamic values. The method used in this study is a literature review, by examining various recent scientific journals in the period 2019–2024. The results of the study show that school principals have various important roles, namely as managers, innovators, communicators, academic supervisors, motivators, and role models. In their role as managers, school principals are responsible for teacher development planning, monitoring, and periodic evaluation of educator performance. As innovators, school principals encourage teachers to innovate in learning and be adaptive to new technologies and methods. The role of communicator is also important, where the principal is expected to build effective and assertive communication with teachers in order to foster trust and loyalty. In terms of academic supervision, the principal functions as a mentor in implementing effective and reflective learning. Internal challenges such as limited funds and teacher motivation, as well as the influence of foundation management, are obstacles that need to be overcome with collaborative solutions and strengthening synergy between the principal, teachers, and the foundation. Meanwhile, external challenges in the form of competition with public schools and the globalization of education require adaptive and innovative strategies. This study recommends the use of technology, the formation of a professional network of Islamic teachers, and reward and punishment-based evaluation as strategic approaches in improving the quality of Islamic education. With visionary and value-based leadership, the principal plays a central role in making Islamic schools superior and competitive institutions.

Abstract

The cargo pump is an auxiliary device used to transfer cargo from the ship’s tank to a storage tank. One of the most critical components of the cargo pump is the impeller, which functions by converting mechanical energy into kinetic energy to move fluid. Hydrochloric acid, as cargo, is highly corrosive and requires specialized materials resistant to such conditions. On the MT Cipta Anyer, the impeller is constructed from Hastelloy X Tantalum to withstand corrosion. This study employs the Huber and Miles method to analyze impeller damage. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The research findings reveal that the primary cause of impeller damage is exposure to the corrosive cargo. Additional contributing factors include the use of spare parts that do not conform to the manual specifications, damaged impeller blades, and contamination within the impeller unit. These issues result in a decreased cargo discharge rate, leading to operational inefficiencies and financial losses for the company. The problems can be mitigated by implementing a regular Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring the availability of manufacturer-recommended spare parts, and adhering to standard installation procedures. This study contributes practical insights into the causes of impeller damage in cargo pumps handling corrosive materials and provides actionable solutions to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency in chemical tanker operations.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between soil properties and aggregate stability in oil palm plantations, influenced by varying distances from the Betara River. Soil analysis was conducted at the Soil Physics and Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University. Soil samples were collected using the Proportional Random Sampling method across plantation areas located at distances of 50 m, 500 m, 1000 m, and 1500 m from the river. The parameters observed included soil organic carbon content, soil moisture content, bulk density, total pore space, percentage of soil aggregates, and aggregate stability. Each treatment was replicated 15 times. To determine the physical properties of the soil and their relationship with river proximity, an independent sample t-test at a 5% significance level was used, followed by multiple linear regression analysis (Steel and Torrie, 1995). The results showed that the distances of 50 m and 500 m had similar values for organic matter content, bulk density, total pore space, moisture content, permeability, aggregate percentage, and aggregate stability. However, these values differed significantly from those observed at distances of 1000 m and 1500 m. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis revealed that organic carbon content and soil moisture were the dominant factors influencing aggregate stability, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.77. This study provides empirical evidence on how river proximity affects soil physical properties and aggregate stability in oil palm plantations. It highlights the importance of soil organic carbon and moisture content as key determinants of aggregate stability, offering valuable insights for land management strategies in riparian agricultural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze authentic assessment in Islamic religious education learning. This type of research is qualitative, collecting data from literature studies in the form of journals and books known as library research, which contain information about authentic assessment in Islamic religious education learning. The data analysis technique in this study was content analysis. After data analysis, the research results obtained were that authentic assessment is very important to implement in Islamic religious education learning. Authentic assessment includes several aspects of assessment, such as affective, cognitive, and psychomotor. A teacher can use attitude assessment to evaluate student behavior while learning or outside the classroom. Spiritual and social attitude competencies must be implemented in learning through habits and examples demonstrated by students in their daily lives, therefore the achievement of these attitude competencies must be assessed by the teacher continuously. In addition, authentic assessment not only assesses learning outcomes, but also assesses the learning process carried out by students to acquire knowledge and apply it in everyday life. In conclusion, authentic assessment techniques pay attention to three things: : affective, cognitive, and psychomotor competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experience of loneliness among older adults and the factors that influence it. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with two elderly individuals living in non-institutional settings. The findings reveal that loneliness in older adults is influenced by the loss of a spouse, physical distance from family, lack of meaningful social relationships, changes in the living environment, and limited emotional support. Participants who had access to social support and engaged in meaningful activities were better able to cope with loneliness compared to those who did not. The study concludes that loneliness is a subjective experience shaped by the individual’s life context. It underscores the importance of social and emotional interventions to support the psychological well-being of older adults. This study provides nuanced insights into the lived experiences of loneliness among non-institutionalized older adults in an Indonesian context, highlighting the role of social and emotional support in mitigating loneliness. It contributes to the development of culturally sensitive strategies for promoting mental health in aging populations.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial behavior and financial literacy on financial inclusion in Generation Z in Indonesia, which is a productive age group and digital native. Although Gen Z has extensive access to digital financial technology and services, their financial literacy levels are still relatively low, affecting the quality of participation in the formal financial system. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 120 Gen Z respondents aged 18–24 years, which was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that financial behavior had a positive and significant influence on financial inclusion (β = 0.410; p < 0.001), which means that the better their financial habits such as saving, budgeting, and managing debt, the higher their participation rate in formal financial services. In addition, financial literacy has also been shown to have a positive and significant effect on financial inclusion (β = 0.350; p < 0.001). Individuals with a strong understanding of financial products, risks, and decision-making tend to be more active and intelligent in using banking, fintech, and other financial instruments. These findings confirm that financial inclusion depends not only on physical access to financial services, but also on the quality of an individual's financial behavior and understanding. Therefore, increasing financial literacy and forming healthy financial behaviors is an important strategy in encouraging sustainable financial inclusion among the younger generation

Abstract

The rapid development of the global economy has increased the need for foreign exchange (Sharf) transactions across individuals, financial institutions, and nations. However, concerns about the permissibility of foreign exchange transactions from the perspective of Islamic law (fiqh muamalah) have become increasingly relevant. This study examines the sharia principles governing Sharf transactions, focusing on the application of fiqh muamalah to both classical and contemporary foreign exchange practices, particularly those involving digital technology. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through a literature-based approach, exploring the views of classical and contemporary scholars, and analyzing the role of fatwas in ensuring compliance with sharia principles. The findings reveal that foreign exchange transactions must fulfill requirements such as immediate mutual exchange (taqabudh fi al-majlis) and avoid elements of usury (riba), uncertainty (gharar), and gambling (maysir). In the digital era, new challenges have emerged with the rise of financial instruments such as forex margin trading and cryptocurrency, requiring adaptive legal interpretations within the framework of fiqh muamalah to maintain sharia compliance. Thus, contemporary ijtihad and fatwas from sharia financial authorities are essential in guiding technology-based foreign exchange transactions to remain within Islamic legal boundaries.

Abstract

This article explores the legal consequences of agreements entered into by individuals or entities lacking proper legal authority to act on behalf of another party. Within the framework of Indonesian civil law, especially as outlined in the Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Perdata (Civil Code), the validity of such agreements is subject to strict requirements concerning consent, authority, and legal competence. The study highlights the distinction between void and voidable contracts, emphasizing the legal implications of agreements made ultra vires or without representation. By examining doctrinal legal principles and relevant case studies, this paper demonstrates how the absence of authority affects the binding power of a contract, and under what conditions a third party may be held liable. The analysis also touches upon the principle of good faith, apparent authority, and ratification as possible legal remedies. This research contributes to a clearer understanding of the boundaries of legal representation and the protection of contractual rights in civil transactions.
