Abstract

Hypertension is an asymptomatic condition in which abnormally high pressure in the arteries increases the risk of stroke, heart failure, heart attack, and kidney damage (Faqih in Nixon's book, 2018). Hypertension is associated with an increase in systolic or diastolic pressure, or both. Hypertension can be defined as persistent high blood pressure where the systolic pressure is above 140 mmHg and the diastolic pressure is above 90 mmHg. In the elderly population, hypertension is defined as a systolic pressure of 160 mmHg and a diastolic pressure of 90 mmHg (in Abdul Majid's book, 2018). Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure above normal, indicated by a systolic number ≥140 mmHg and a diastolic number ≥90 mmHg, which is considered prehypertension. It can then be subcategorized according to its severity. Optimal blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg, and so on, it has a range from normal blood pressure to high blood pressure (hypertension). This condition is categorized as primary or essential (almost 90% of all cases) or secondary, occurring as a result of a recognizable pathological condition, often reversible (Abimanyu Darmawan, et al, 2019) World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2015 showed that around 1.13 billion people in the world have hypertension, meaning that 1 in 3 people in the world are diagnosed with hypertension. The number of people with hypertension continues to increase every year, it is estimated that in 2025 there will be 1.5 billion people affected by hypertension and it is estimated that every year 9.4 million people die from hypertension and its complications. The method used is descriptive analysis by describing the situation or condition of the patient based on the results of care that has been carried out starting from subjective analysis to evaluation, also described the obstacles faced by the author when carrying out nursing care. The results of this study Blood pressure before giving watermelon juice obtained severe blood pressure of 2 people with blood pressure Mrs.M BP 170/100 and Mrs.S BP 180/100 and moderate blood pressure Mrs. R BP 180/100 mmhg. Blood pressure after being given Noni Fruit Juice for 3 days was obtained Mrs. M BP 150/90 NY. S BP 160/90 mmhg. The results of the application of Noni Fruit juice to hypertensive patients showed that there was an effect that there was a change in blood pressure in patients before and after the application of Noni Fruit juice to hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Kidney failure is a form of pathophysiology with various aetiologies that results in decreased kidney function, which can lead to chronic kidney failure (CKF). According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the increase in the number of patients with kidney failure has become a global health problem, with 850,000 deaths each year. According to the 2018 Riskesdas survey, there has been an increase from 2% to 3.8%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge levels and lifestyle in cases of chronic kidney failure at Dr. M Yunus Bengkulu Regional General Hospital. This study used an analytical survey with a case-control approach. Purposive sampling was used with 48 respondents, consisting of 24 cases and 24 controls. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. Based on the univariate results, it was found that 66.7% of the case group had a good level of knowledge, while 83.3% of the control group did. In terms of lifestyle, 87.5% of the case group respondents had an unhealthy lifestyle, while 91.7% of the control group respondents had a healthy lifestyle. Bivariate analysis of the chi-square statistical test results obtained a p-value of 0.317>a=0.005, meaning that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of chronic renal failure at Dr M Yunus Bengkulu Regional General Hospital. while the results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000 < α = 0.005, meaning that there is a significant relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of chronic kidney failure at Dr M Yunus General Hospital in Bengkulu.

Abstract

Anxiety is a common psychological problem experienced by patients prior to surgery. High levels of anxiety can affect the patient's physiological condition and potentially worsen the surgical process. Deep breathing relaxation is a simple non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce anxiety. This study aims to determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation on reducing anxiety in Pre-Operative Patients at RSUD Rejang Lebong Regency in 2025. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The population consisted of 20 preoperative patients aged 17-50 years, selected using total sampling. The research instrument used APAIS questionnaire to assess anxiety. The intervention consisted of deep breathing relaxation techniques performed 4 hours before the patient entered the operating room and 1 hour before the patient entered the operating room. The deep breathing relaxation technique was administered for 15 minutes with breaks every 5 minutes. Data analysis was performed univariately for frequency distribution and bivariate using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed that before the deep breathing intervention, the majority of patients experienced mild anxiety (40%) and severe anxiety (35%). After the intervention, 40% of patients were in the non-anxious category, while severe anxiety decreased to 5% and no patients experienced panic. The Wilcoxon test results showed a Z value of -4.300 with P < 0.001, which means there is a significant difference between the anxiety levels before and after the intervention. The conclusion of this study is that deep breathing relaxation techniques are proven to be effective in reducing anxiety in preoperative patients. Nurses and patients are advised to apply deep breathing relaxation interventions as one of the efforts to reduce anxiety in preoperative patients.

Abstract

In Indonesia, based on data from the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), approximately 44.6% of children aged 6–12 years do not have a good breakfast habit. This is concerning, as breakfast contributes 15–30% of daily energy needs. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between breakfast habits and learning concentration among elementary school students at SDN 66 Bengkulu City. The research employed a descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling, with a total of 56 students from SDN 66 Bengkulu City participating as samples.Univariate analysis showed that almost half of the respondents (37.5%) did not have breakfast, and a similar proportion (39.3%) had poor learning concentration. The results of the bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between breakfast habits and learning concentration in elementary school students at SDN 66 Bengkulu City in 2025 (p-value 0.000).The researcher suggests that respondents should make it a habit to always eat breakfast before going to school, as this is crucial for maintaining energy, concentration, and readiness to learn.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high incidence and a risk of serious complications such as stroke and heart failure. Hypertension management involves more than just pharmacological therapy; it can also be supported by non-pharmacological therapies. One simple, safe, and effective non-pharmacological intervention is Slow Stroke Back Massage (SSBM), which provides a relaxing effect and helps lower blood pressure. Objective: To determine the effect of Slow Stroke Back Massage on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Melati Ward of RSUD Rejang Lebong Regency. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test, and control group design. The sample size was 48 respondents, divided into 24 in the intervention group and 24 in the control group using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis began with a normality test using the Shapiro-Wilk test and a homogeneity test using Levene's test. Furthermore, a paired t-test was used to determine differences in blood pressure before and after treatment in each group. In the intervention group, the average systolic blood pressure decreased from 152.5 mmHg to 122.08 mmHg, a difference of 30.41 mmHg (p = 0.000), while the average diastolic blood pressure decreased from 94.2 mmHg to 79.6 mmHg, a difference of 14.58 mmHg (p = 0.000). In the control group, the average systolic blood pressure decreased from 160.4 mmHg to 147.5 mmHg, a difference of 12.91 mmHg (p = 0.003), while the average diastolic blood pressure decreased from 99.6 mmHg to 91.3 mmHg, a difference of 8.33 mmHg (p = 0.005). Slow Stroke Back Massage has been shown to be effective in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This intervention can be used as a simple, safe, and affordable non-pharmacological therapy, and can be implemented by healthcare professionals and patients' families as an adjunct to pharmacological therapy.

Abstract

This study, titled “Implementation of the Zoning System as an Effort to Promote Equity in New Student Admissions at SMP Negeri 1 Sekadau Hilir and SMP Negeri 10 Sekadau Hilir, Sekadau Regency,” aims to analyze the implementation of the 2024/2025 PPDB (New Student Admissions) zoning system based on George C. Edwards III’s policy implementation model—which encompasses communication, resources, the disposition of implementers, and bureaucratic structure—and to evaluate its contribution to promoting educational equity. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, using interviews, observations, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that communication at SMP Negeri 1 Sekadau Hilir was more effective due to the use of both online and offline communication channels, whereas SMP Negeri 10 Sekadau Hilir relied primarily on face-to-face interactions. Resources at SMP Negeri 1 Sekadau Hilir were relatively sufficient, while those at SMP Negeri 10 remained limited. The implementers in both schools demonstrated positive dispositions, although they applied different strategies in carrying out the policy. The bureaucratic structure in both institutions was supported by the Zoning Decree (SK Zonasi) and the PPDB Committee Decree (SK Panitia PPDB), which provided formal guidance for the implementation process. The PPDB outcomes show that SMP Negeri 1 Sekadau Hilir successfully fulfilled its quota of 320 students, with the majority admitted through the zoning pathway. In contrast, SMP Negeri 10 Sekadau Hilir admitted only 64 students (two classes), all of whom were accepted through the zoning pathway. These findings confirm that the zoning policy has been implemented in accordance with existing regulations; however, educational equity has not been fully achieved due to disparities in resources and accessibility between the two schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of technical education and training policies carried out by the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Sanggau Regency. The main focus of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of these policies in improving the quality of human resources among government apparatus, as well as to identify the supporting and hindering factors in their implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to gather data through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that although the technical education and training policies have been well formulated, their implementation still faces several challenges, such as limited supporting facilities, insufficient budget allocation, and inadequate capacity among training personnel. On the other hand, the policy has received support through the commitment of regional leaders and ongoing bureaucratic reform initiatives. These factors contribute to improving the performance of the apparatus, although the results have not yet reached optimal levels. This study recommends increasing the budget, providing additional training for instructors, and enhancing the availability of adequate facilities to support the successful implementation of technical education and training programs. Furthermore, periodic evaluations of policy implementation are expected to serve as a tool for identifying necessary improvements to achieve better governance in Sanggau Regency.

Abstract

Leachate from landfills (TPS/TFA) has the potential to contaminate surrounding groundwater with various toxic compounds. This study aims to evaluate the toxicity of groundwater around the landfill on germination and oxidative stress responses in mung bean (Vigna radiata) sprouts. Groundwater samples were taken at distances of 10, 40, 100, and 300 meters from the landfill. The sprouts were planted on cotton media moistened with groundwater samples at 100% (original) concentration and observed for 72 hours. Parameters observed included germination percentage, radicle and hypocotyl length, and catalase (CAT) enzyme activity as an indicator of oxidative stress. The results showed that all seeds germinated (100%), but radicle and hypocotyl growth was significantly inhibited as the distance between the samples and the landfill increased. Catalase enzyme activity increased sharply in sprouts exposed to groundwater from the closest distance (10 m), approximately 9.5 times higher than in the control (distilled water). This increase in catalase activity indicates oxidative stress induced by pollutant compounds in the groundwater. The results demonstrate that mung beans can function as a sensitive bioindicator for detecting toxicity and oxidative stress caused by groundwater pollution around landfills. Measurement of catalase enzyme activity provides information on sublethal impacts not apparent from germination parameters alone.
