Abstract

The effectiveness of school-university collaboration through the teaching assistance scheme as part of the Emancipated Learning Emancipated Campus (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka - MBKM) program. This research aims to analyze factors that influence the effectiveness of the MBKM program through the teaching assistant schemes in schools. The research was conducted using multiple linear regression method with SPSS as the tool. The independent variables were students’ interest and learning facilities, and the dependent variable was effectiveness. The result of the f test showed that students’ interest and learning facilities jointly affect 60.4% of the effectiveness of the MBKM implementation. Based on the results of the t test, interest had an influence of 40.221% on the effectiveness of MBKM implementation and learning facilities had an influence of 20.2176% on the effectiveness of MBKM implementation. From the results, it can be concluded that the teaching assistant scheme in schools had an influence of 60.4%, consisting of 40.2% students’ interest in SMKN 4 of South Tangerang towards MBKM activities and 20.2% learning facilities provided by mentors as teachers.

Abstract

21st century learning, including Indonesian language learning requires students to think critically and creatively. The ministry’s policy regarding text-based Indonesian language teaching shows that learning Indonesian language today is not only about memorizing but also creating. In line with this, this study aims to describe the results of the implementation of text-based Indonesian language teaching at SMPN 1 Bambanglipuro Bantul and to describe student responses regarding the implementation of the policy. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data used in answering research questions are the results of observations and interviews, as well as analysis of documents related to lesson plans made and applied by teachers in teaching Indonesian language to students at SMPN 1 Bambanglipuro. The results show that the teacher as a learning facilitator was able to design lesson plans in accordance with the text-based Indonesian language learning curriculum, which prioritized the process and created outcomes. Students feel happy because in textbased Indonesian language learning, students are encouraged to enjoy reading. This is an excellent policy, because it is important to make reading a daily habit, especially to improve students’ literacy skills.

Abstract

Health education in elementary schools (DS) which is implemented the behavior of clean and healthy life (PHBS) unable to develop the potential of students to to behave healthy consciously. The development of the concept of PHBS education in schools is implemented just by socialization and provide. So that the strategy is considered not enough to improve health literacy in students. Based on this analysis, the use of fairy tales as a means of health education in elementary schools was chosen as a smart practice in the development of education and health promotion which aims to meet the needs of students in understanding health information, especially the urgency of implementing PHBS. To measure the effectiveness of fairy tales, the measurement of knowledge change is measured by qualitative method with pre and post tests. Through this method, it was found that students who were exposed to fairy tales selected from the Let's Read application experienced a change in their level of knowledge. Before the fairy tale was held, students did not understand the values of PHBS at school. However, after the fairy tale activity, the students' knowledge level is at sixth level knowledge that students not only understand well the concept of PHBS, but students have the ability to create PHBS information well.

Abstract

This paper aimed to describe the roles of civil society organizations in managing diversity at schools. Civil society organization is an important element in a democracy. Their role in many aspects of life in Indonesia has been widely revealed, including in the education sector. Education in Indonesia reflects the character of Indonesian society in general, which is rich in diversity. Therefore, managing diversity in schools becomes a paramount issue. This is to anticipate the emergence of conflicts stemming from intolerance and inability to accept differences. This paper was written through library research. Data were collected from various sources: books, journals, reports, and websites containing information about civil society organizations and their work in managing diversity in education. Research findings revealed that a number of civil society organizations had played a role in managing diversity in education units through various activities such as trainings, seminars, and discussions. These various activities target almost every element in the school; namely students, teachers, and principals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of school fund management, quality of service provided by district/city education offices, and principals’ leadership style on school effectiveness. This research used quantitative approach with a structural equation model design. The population of this study were all students from public junior high schools in the region of the former Surakarta Residency. The research sample was determined using area probability sampling. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire utilizing the Likert scale. Data were processed using the Linear Structural Relationship model. The results showed that the theoretical model built on the relevant theory was supported by empirical data. The description of the latent variables of fund management, service quality, leadership style, and school effectiveness showed positive outcomes. In details, the direct effect of a fund management on the school effectiveness was 0.45. This was greater than the indirect effect, which was 0.24 (0.67x0.36). Meanwhile, the direct influence of the service quality of the district/city education offices on the school effectiveness was not significant. However, the indirect influence of a leadership style was quite significant at 0.37. The testing result of the influence of the principal’s leadership style on school effectiveness was quite significant at 0.36 with an error tolerance of 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the employment of Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK), Indonesia’s formal vocational school at the secondary level graduates. The variables studied related to the employment of SMK graduates were the number of SMK graduates, the factors that affect how quickly graduates get jobs, and the activities carried out by SMK graduates before getting a job. This research used a mixed method, while data analysis used primary and secondary data. Data were collected through literature reviews, online surveys, and focus group discussions. To find out further about the impact of the pandemic, an online survey was conducted on the year 2020 SMK graduates majoring in technology and engineering and also tourism program. The results showed that there was a decline in the employment rate of SMK graduates from all programs, when compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019. This decline reached 3.19% in 2020 and 0.77% in 2021. Factors that influenced the employment of SMK graduates were skills and competency, motivation, and the availability of job vacancies. Activities carried out by SMK graduates before getting a job were seeking job information, learning to be self-employed, and attending courses/training.

Abstract

Edisi pertama, volume 15 Jurnal Penelitian Kebijakan Pendidikan yang terbit di tahun 2022 ini, menerbitkan 6 (enam) artikel dengan topik beragam terkait dunia pendidikan. Mulai dari keefektifan kegiatan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), pemanfaatan dongeng sebagai media pendidikan kesehatan dini, implementasi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, peran organisasi masyarakat sipil dalam pengelolaan keragaman di sekolah, pengaruh manajemen dana terhadap keefektifan sekolah, hingga dampak pandemi Covid-19 terhadap keterserapan lulusan SMK. Artikel pertama ditulis oleh Refranisa, dkk. tentang Keefektifan Kegiatan Kolaboratif Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) pada Skema Mengajar di Satuan Pendidikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor minat siswa dan fasilitas pembelajaran secara bersama-sama memengaruhi efektivitas pelaksanaan MBKM. Dari data yang disajikan, terlihat bahwa faktor minat siswa memiliki pengaruh lebih besar terhadap efektivitas pelaksanaan MBKM dibandingkan faktor fasilitas. Penelitian ini bermanfaat untuk mendorong penyempurnaan sistem pembelajaran dengan menciptakan strategi yang dapat mendukung program Merdeka Belajar untuk pembelajaran masa depan.  Artikel kedua ditulis oleh Riswanda Himawan tentang Implementasi Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Berbasis Teks di SMPN 1 Bambanglipuro Bantul. Kebijakan terkait pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia saat ini mendorong tercapainya kemampuan literasi yang tidak hanya sekadar mengingat, melainkan mencapai level mencipta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengajarkan berbagai jenis teks kepada siswa, guru sebagai fasilitator pembelajaran sudah mampu merancang rencana pembelajaran sesuai kurikulum yang mengedepankan proses dan menciptakan luaran. Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berbasis teks ini juga mendorong siswa untuk gemar membaca. Hal ini merupakan dampak positif kebijakan terkait, karena dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Artikel ketiga ditulis oleh Harpiana Rahman, dkk. tentang Pemanfaatan Dongeng Let’s Read sebagai Media Pendidikan Kesehatan Dini di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menyoroti pendidikan kesehatan di sekolah dasar (SD) melalui program perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) yang diimplementasikan melalui poster promosi kesehatan di sekolah, yang dinilai belum maksimal dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan kesehatan. Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bahwa sekolah memerlukan pembelajaran inovatif sesuai dengan karakteristik usia sekolah dasar dan dongeng merupakan salah satu media kreatif yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk tujuan tersebut. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa pemanfaatan dongeng sebagai sarana pendidikan kesehatan di sekolah dasar dipilih sebagai praktik cerdas dalam pengembangan pendidikan dan promosi kesehatan yang bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam memahami informasi kesehatan, khususnya urgensi penerapan pola hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Artikel keempat yang ditulis oleh Herman Hendrik memaparkan tentang Peran Organisasi Masyarakat Sipil dalam Pengelolaan Keragaman di sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa organisasi masyarakat sipil merupakan elemen penting dalam suatu negara demokrasi, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Dunia pendidikan di Indonesia mencerminkan karakter masyarakat Indonesia secara umum, yaitu adanya keragaman. Dengan itu, pengelolaan keragaman di sekolah menjadi sesuatu yang sangat mendesak untuk mengantisipasi potensi munculnya konflik yang bersumber dari sikap yang tidak menerima perbedaan atau sikap intoleran. Dari kajian pustaka yang dilakukan ditemukan bahwa sejumlah organisasi masyarakat sipil telah berperan dalam pengelolaan keragaman di satuan pendidikan melalui beragam kegiatan, seperti pelatihan, seminar, dan diskusi, menyasar hampir setiap elemen di sekolah, yaitu peserta didik, guru, dan kepala sekolah. Artikel kelima ditulis oleh Parwanto, mengulas tentang Pengaruh Manajemen Dana, Kualitas Pelayanan Dinas Pendidikan, dan Gaya Kepemimpinan Terhadap Keefektifan Sekolah. Dari data yang disajikan, hasil penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif ini menunjukkan bahwa model teoretis yang dibangun berdasarkan teori setelah diuji ternyata didukung oleh data empiris. Dari deskripsi variabel laten manajemen dana, kualitas pelayanan, gaya kepemimpinan, dan keefektifan sekolah sudah baik. Dalam rangka memperbaiki manajemen dana sekolah terutama aspek pengorganisasian dapat dilakukan dengan cara memperbaiki struktur organisasi pengelolaan keuangan sekolah terutama kejelasan tugas dan fungsi masing-masing pengelola dana sekolah. Selain itu, artikel ini juga mengemukakan bahwa dinas pendidikan kabupaten/kota perlu melakukan pembenahan, terutama memperbaiki kinerja pegawai dalam mengantisipasi perkembangan teknologi informasi yang selalu berkembang dinamis. Artikel terakhir ditulis oleh Sudiyono dan Relisa mengkaji tentang Dampak Pandemi Covid-19 terhadap Keterserapan Lulusan SMK ke Dunia Kerja. Penelitian dilakukan pada pekerja lulusan SMK tahun 2020 dengan responden lulusan SMK tahun 2020 bidang keahlian teknologi dan rekayasa serta bidang pariwisata. Variabel yang dikaji adalah terkait keterserapan lulusan SMK ke dunia kerja, yakni faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi cepat atau lambatnya lulusan mendapat pekerjaan, dan kegiatan yang dilakukan lulusan SMK sebelum memperoleh pekerjaan. Dari data yang disajikan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat penurunan keterserapan lulusan SMK yang bekerja untuk semua bidang keahlian. Keterserapan lulusan SMK bidang keahlian teknologi rekayasa dan pariwisata/perhotelan ke dunia kerja merupakan yang terendah jika dibandingkan dengan rata-rata keterserapan lulusan SMK bidang keahlian lainnya. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keterserapan lulusan SMK ke dunia kerja di antaranya adalah kompetensi keahlian yang dimiliki, motivasi lulusan dalam mencari pekerjaan, dan ketersediaan lowongan pekerjaan. Rekomendasi yang diajukan dari penelitian ini antara lain penguatan soft skill dalam pembelajaran di SMK dan optimalisasi lembaga pelatihan dan kursus. Semoga apa yang disajikan dalam jurnal edisi pertama ini dapat menjadi referensi dan rujukan, terutama bagi para pemerhati dunia pendidikan, serta pihak-pihak yang berkepentingan dalam pengambilan kebijakan di bidang pendidikan.
