Abstract

Recently, there has been a phenomenon of changing the packaging from banana leaves to clear plastic, including for cake wrappers. The use of leaves as a wrapper does not produce waste and the food that is wrapped is not exposed to chemicals. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize the dangers of plastic wrapping for human health. The purpose of this service activity is to increase public understanding and knowledge about the use of plastics and dyes in food, to re-promote the manufacture and consumption of tambul or traditional, environmentally friendly snacks. This service is carried out by using (1) the method used to convey the main points of material relating to plastic wrapping and its dangers to health, leaf wrapping and its benefits for health. (2) practice, making: pulut kucung, lopek luwo and guwajik. The target groups for this service are village officials, mothers and adolescents in Kampung Baru Sentajo, which connects 30 people. Abstract

Gas is a state asset that can be traded through state-owned or private companies to consumers. The gas produced will be processed in accordance with the regulations and consumer needs. The processing can be channeled directly to consumers or processed in a way that is more consumptive for the community, such as LPG. The use of LPG is now a necessity by the community for kitchen purposes in general. Gas supply is not necessarily evenly distributed, causing people to innovate to find alternatives by utilizing the natural surroundings. One example of nature that can be used as an alternative is to use biogas. This biogas is a solution for people who have not been reached by LPG or have difficulty getting LPG. So that people can create their own alternative energy as a backup without worrying about running out of LPG.

Abstract

As part of the coastal and marine environment, mangrove ecosystems are often degraded due to more levies/logging, the conversion of nikau forests into ponds shrimp, and pollution.  The decline in the quality of this area originated from anthropogenic factors from land pollution originating from land (land base), as well as pollution from marine activities (seabase). The threat needs to be anticipated through increased awareness and awareness of key stakeholders (logging communities).  In terms of environmental science, this ecosystem is seen as a potential bulwark of carbon and other environmental services.  This activity is an effort to provide understanding to the general public and government officials about the various benefits and importance of mangrove conservation efforts.   Counseling on this topic is very necessary because there is information about community complaints about the high exploitation and threats to the sustainability of its existence in Kampung Rawa Mekar Jaya, Siak Regency.  Counseling is considered important to be carried out because of the increasing degradation of coastal ecosystems (mangroves, coastal waters, estuaries) due to environmental pressures from human activity. From this community service activity, it is hoped that it can increase the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the local community about the benefits of long Janka to maintaining coastal and marine ecosystems. The mindset of coastal communities is expected to be open and understand what can be done, what can and cannot be done to coastlines and mangrove ecosystems, for the sake of preserving natural resources and the environment related to the lives of the general public and especially fishermen whose lives are largely dependent on these ecosystems. The form of this planned community service activity is counseling on the importance of mangrove forest ecosystem conservation as an effort to preserve the ecology of coastal areas and coastal waters of Kampung Rawa Mekar Jaya, Siak Regency.  Counseling on this topic is considered very necessary considering the increasingly intense community activities that cause overexploitation of mangrove forest areas. This activity is one of the efforts to bring the name of Riau University into contributing to the development of community service specialties, especially education in the field of mangrove forest ecosystem management

Abstract

Oil palm plantations store a lot of potential resources that open up business opportunities in the upstream and downstream sectors. Unfortunately, this activity creates a new problem, namely generating waste that has not been utilized optimally. So far, waste from palm oil production has not been utilized optimally, including palm oil stick waste which is only wasted until it rots. Meanwhile, it helps create new business opportunities in the eco-friendly creative economy by utilizing palm oil waste. The partner group in this PKM activity is a group of housewives who are less productive in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau. The reason why the less productive group of housewives should be employed is because the prices of basic goods do not increase in proportion to household income, which leads to household stability and growth due to uncertainty. This situation encourages women, especially housewives, not only to do housework, but also to involve them in the business world to support the family economy. The activity provides counseling materials related to zero waste style and entrepreneurship as well as training on the utilization of palm oil stick waste into creative products with economic value.
