Abstract

On the one hand, the existence of the oil and gas industry is needed by humans, such as for the country’s energy and foreign exchange needs, however, on the other hand, oil and gas industry activities also have great potential to pollute the environment, such as pollution of water, soil, air, and disruption of flora and fauna biodiversity. The negative impact of oil and gas activities can certainly lead to the problems such as health, economic and socio-cultural problems which will lead to community conflict. Environmental management is very necessary so that the existence of the oil and gas industry can provide benefits and welfare for humans. Abstract

UNRI's Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, which accommodates the field of fisheries from upstream to downstream, seeks to solve the problem of unemployment on campus, especially in the fisheries sector. Through a community service program on entrepreneurship schemes involving lecturers who collaborate with the UNRI Business Incubator Center, we carried out training activities on culinary development based on processed fish with a total of 15 participants, namely FPC students processing fishery products. This training aims to provide entrepreneurial knowledge, encourage the growth of entrepreneurial motivation, and increase understanding of management (organization, production, finance, and marketing) with implementation methods referring to the Participatory Action Learning System(PALS). The implementation of this training activity received a positive response, as did the participants' desire to become entrepreneurs. This training also motivates participants to work as entrepreneurs and opens up job opportunities to collaborate with other small and medium enterprises. The culinary products produced are serondeng catfish and catfish floss. These products have the potential to become a business opportunity for new entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Capacity building can be done in two ways, namely through hard skills (work skills) and soft skills (personal and behavioral skills). Soft skills is a sociological term that refers to personality characteristics, social attractiveness, negotiation skills, personal habits, caring, and optimism. Soft Skills are personality and behavioral abilities and skills. These soft skills complement hard skills as technical requirements for a job. The objectives of the service activities that will be carried out include (a) providing understanding to village officials about the capacity building needed in community service and (b) providing skills in community service in the form of personal skills and behavior so as to improve the quality of community service. Village officials and other community servants have not been able to provide maximum services due to lack of discipline and responsibility, lack of cooperation both among officers and with the community. Village officials and other community servants such as posyandu officers, members of village PKK mobilizers, are officers who provide services to the community. Village officials and other community servants have not been able to provide maximum services due to lack of discipline and responsibility, lack of cooperation both among officers and with the community. This phenomenon is an indicator of a lack of ability or capacity as a public servant. Their main tasks and functions related to village government are quite well understood, but the supporting factors for their tasks which are directly related to their personal capacity as servants are still lacking. Capacity building through outbound activities is an outdoor activity which is training in the form of games to build personal abilities and behavior in improving the quality of service to the community. Capacity building activities can build aspects of personality and behavior of village officials as soft skills which are an inseparable part of basic skills in the form of basic tasks (hard skills) and functions as village government officials.

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country and an archipelagic country. Indonesia has abundant and diverse fish resources. Abundant fish resources make fish easy to obtain and cheap. However, there are still many people who do not like to consume fish and do not know the benefits contained in the body of fish. This activity aims to provide education about eating fish through puppet stories, so that students understand the benefits of fish in body growth. Community service activities were carried out on November 2, 2022 at the 178 Pekanbaru Elementary School, which were attended by 152 students. The method used is pretest and posttest design. From the results of the activity, it appears that in the pretest activities only a few students already know about the types of fish, the nutritional content of fish, the benefits of eating fish, and processed fish products. Then during the posttest, many students were able to answer and provide explanations regarding the types of fish, fish content, benefits of fish, and processed fish products. This service activity is expected to increase students insight and knowledge about types of fish, nutritional content, benefits of eating fish, processed fish products so that it is hoped that in the future students will like to eat fish.

Stunting is a disorder child growth and development, usually caused by chronic malnutrition during early growth. Children who are stunted generally look physically proportional, but when compared to other children their age, they will look shorter or stunted. In Guo Mandiri Posyandu (Integrated Health Post for Child Health) Kuranji Padang, there are still children who are stunted, which on average is caused by helminthiasis due to poor environmental sanitation and lack of parenting knowledge. A diagnosis of stunting is made when a child's growth and development is below the standard growth curve set by WHO. Children who suffer from stunting not only experience physical limitations, but are also at risk of decreased intelligence levels, speech disorders, learning difficulties, and have a weak immune system that is vulnerable to viral and bacterial infections. The results achieved in this socialization activity are: the definition and characteristics of stunting, impacts, and efforts made in preventing stunting itself. Through a participatory approach and support from various parties, the sustainability of this socialization is expected to become a work program for the region in community-based stunting reduction. Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding and participation of the residents of Sapat Village in developing the local ecotourism potential, including mangrove ecotourism, fishing, fireflies, sailing, beaches, and the socio-cultural heritage of fishermen’s communities. The program involved socialization, discussions, and the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method to gain deeper insights into community perspectives and assess readiness for ecotourism development. Following the activities, an evaluation was conducted to assess participants' understanding before and after the program. The results showed a significant improvement, particularly in mangrove and firefly ecotourism, with an increase in the awareness of sustainable ecosystem management. However, the potential for beach ecotourism is less favorable due to environmental limitations, such as muddy substrates and tidal conditions. The community expressed strong support for technical assistance and training to develop ecotourism initiatives, especially mangrove and fishing activities, which are expected to boost local incomes and conservation efforts. This programme highlights the importance of continuous mentoring, capacity building, and monitoring to ensure the sustainability and economic impact of community-based ecotourism
