Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in Timor-Leste’s economy, with Arabica coffee being one of its high-value commodities. Timor-Leste Arabica coffee has significant development potential due to its distinctive flavor profile and suitable agroclimatic conditions. However, this potential has not been fully realized due to challenges in value chain management, marketing, product innovation, and resource utilization. This study aims to analyze the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as a basis for developing Letefoho Arabica Coffee in Timor-Leste. The results indicate that Letefoho Arabica Coffee has strong development potential, supported by high-quality organic products, adequate resources and production activities, strong customer relationships, and supportive partnerships. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including a customer base concentrated in middle- and upper-income groups, traditional marketing channels, and unstable revenue. Development strategies include diversifying package sizes to improve affordability, utilizing digital technology and e-commerce for marketing, strengthening partnerships with cooperatives and exporters, and maintaining cost efficiency and product quality. These strategies are expected to expand market reach, increase revenue, and strengthen the competitiveness of Letefoho Timor-Leste Arabica Coffee in national and international markets

Abstract

The growth of social commerce has transformed how consumers obtain information and make purchase decisions. TikTok Shop provides consumers with several information features, including online reviews, ratings, and live streaming, which may influence product evaluation and purchasing behavior. This study examines the effects of online reviews, ratings, and live streaming on purchase decisions for 3Second products on TikTok Shop. A quantitative associative research design was employed. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The population consisted of 144 eighth-semester undergraduate students at IBM ASMI, from which 60 respondents were included in the study. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics version 27. The findings indicate that online reviews, ratings, and live streaming each have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Online reviews produced a regression coefficient of 0.329 (p = 0.038), ratings produced a coefficient of 0.421 (p = 0.013), and live streaming produced a coefficient of 0.348 (p = 0.003). The overall regression model was statistically significant (F = 32.805, p < 0.001) and explained 63.7% of the variation in purchase decisions. Ratings and live streaming demonstrated relatively stronger standardized effects than online reviews. The findings suggest that consumer-generated information, aggregated evaluations, and interactive real-time content can complement one another in supporting consumer purchase decisions in the social commerce environment.

Abstract

This article examines the erosion of socio-cultural capital among the Bugis-Makassar community due to the implementation of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in Makassar City, using David Harvey's accumulation by dispossession theory, Pierre Bourdieu's social capital concept, and Talcott Parsons' AGIL framework. The PSN projects in Makassar, especially Makassar New Port and the development of the Makassar Industrial Area, have radically changed the city's spatial layout between 2020 and 2025, forcing coastal fishermen and traditional traders to leave living spaces that form the foundation of their socio-cultural identity. Data from Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2020 shows that out of the total national PSN investment worth hundreds of trillions of rupiah, the portion explicitly aimed at maintaining the socio-cultural capital of affected communities is very disproportionate compared to infrastructure investment. This article finds that PSN structurally exploits local social capital, maritime tradition, the philosophy of siri' na pacce, and communal solidarity networks to buffer the social impacts of projects without recognizing, compensating, or renewing them. The analysis uses a qualitative method with a systematic literature review approach and analysis of PSN policy documents as well as the Makassar City regional development reports for 2020–2025

Abstract

One of the leading agricultural commodities in Indonesia’s plantation subsector is coffee. Coffee consumption in Indonesia has shown year-over-year growth. The city of Surakarta is an urban area experiencing rapid development in various aspects, including the economy, social life, and the service sector, making it a promising location for the growth of coffee shop businesses. This study aims to analyze the characteristics, consumption behavior, and preferences of Generation Z coffee consumers in Surakarta. The study was conducted in Surakarta using a descriptive quantitative approach via a survey method. Based on the research findings regarding the characteristics of Generation Z coffee consumers in Surakarta, it can be concluded that these consumers are predominantly female, aged 17–21, are college students, and have a monthly income of less than Rp500,000. In terms of purchasing behavior, consumers prefer to make purchases in person (offline) rather than through other methods. Product price is the primary consideration in determining where to make a purchase, with consumers tending to choose coffee offered at relatively affordable prices. Additionally, the majority of consumers prefer their coffee served cold. These findings indicate that the respondents’ coffee consumption preferences are related to demographic characteristics, purchasing power, and considerations

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), influencer credibility, and pricing strategy on Fore Coffee’s Brand Attractiveness among Generation Z in Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative approach involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that the use of AI does not have a significant effect on Fore Coffee’s Brand Attractiveness. In contrast, influencer credibility and pricing strategy have a positive and significant effect on Brand Attractiveness. Simultaneously, all three variables significantly influence Brand Attractiveness. These findings suggest that Generation Z perceives digital technology as a standard service feature, making AI not yet a primary factor in enhancing brand attractiveness. Therefore, Fore Coffee is advised to continue optimizing AI to support customer experience while strengthening influencer marketing strategies and value-based pricing to enhance brand attractiveness

Abstract

Rumah Sakit TNI Angkatan Laut (RSAL) Dr. Mintoharjo occupy a strategic yet vulnerable location in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta, adjacent to the Krukut River. As a primary military medical facility, its operational resilience during Jakarta’s seasonal flood events is paramount for maintaining emergency healthcare services and supporting Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW/OMP). This study analyzes the dual role of RSAL Dr. Mintoharjo as both a flood-impacted facility and a key responder in regional disaster management. Utilizing a qualitative analytical approach combining field observations, document reviews of Hospital Emergency Preparedness Plans (HEPP), and semi-structured interviews with hospital management and local disaster agencies (BPBD DKI Jakarta), the research assesses structural adaptation, operational continuity, and civil-military coordination. The findings reveal that while structural defense mechanisms—such as amphibious flood barriers and elevated critical electrical systems—have successfully mitigated internal flooding risks since the severe 2013 and 2020 events, challenges persist in logistics transport through flooded access roads and inter-agency communication synchronization. The study proposes an integrated resilience framework to strengthen RSAL Mintoharjo’s capacity as an amphibious medical response hub during major Jakarta inundations

Abstract

The Price Earning Ratio (PER) represents a fundamental benchmark extensively adopted for evaluating a company's market valuation and investors' expectations of future performance. However, previous research findings concerning the impact of leverage and profitability on PER continue to show disparate results, notably within developing economies like Indonesia. This research endeavors to analyze the effects of Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Return on Equity (ROE) on  PER of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, a prominent food and beverage enterprise registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, over the 2013–2022 timeframe. This investigation adopted a quantitative method by exploiting secondary data gathered from the firm's yearly financial reports. A total sampling approach was implemented, encompassing a ten-year observation period. The variables were computed employing descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing operating IBM SPSS Statistics. The statistical output reveals that neither DER (p = 0.938) nor ROE (p = 0.347) demonstrates a significant consequence on PER. Additionally, the simultaneous analysis of DER and ROE yields an insignificant result toward PER (p = 0.622). The coefficient of determination (R²) reveals that just 12.3% of PER variation is captured by the two independent variables, while 87.7% originates from unmodeled factors outside the proposed model. Such observations indicate that investors' valuation of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk is contingent upon a wider matrix of fiscal and non-fiscal determinants distinct from leverage and profitability. This study adds to the financial management literature by offering recent empirical evidence originating within Indonesia's food and beverage industry as well as presenting actionable frameworks intended for asset managers and firm executives in gauging organizational worth via financial ratio analysis

Abstract

The increasing problem of plastic waste and public awareness of environmental sustainability have encouraged the growth of creative industries based on recycling. One player in this industry is PASTE LAB Yogyakarta, which processes plastic waste into various eco-design products that have both functional and economic value. This study aims to analyze the production practices of eco-design products made from recycled plastic waste at PASTE LAB Yogyakarta from the perspectives of eco-design, circular economy, social transformation, and the community concept. The theories used include Eco-Design Theory, Circular Economy Theory, Social Transformation Theory, and Community Concept. The research uses an ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results show that PASTE LAB processes types of plastic waste such as HDPE, PP, LDPE, and PS into furniture, interior decorations, and accessories through production processes based on recycling. The practice reflects the application of eco-design and circular economy principles because waste is reprocessed into materials and useful products. In addition, environmental education activities and the provision of drop boxes also encourage community involvement in waste management. However, PASTE LAB still faces challenges such as limited raw materials, production technology, capital, and industry competition

Abstract

Sleep disturbance carries a substantial global burden, and insomnia stands out as the most prevalent manifestation, affecting between one-third and one-half of the adult population. Women bear a disproportionately greater burden, largely owing to cyclical reproductive hormonal changes throughout the menstrual cycle. Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is hypothesized to impair sleep via three converging pathways: reduced luteal-phase serotonin synthesis, aberrant allopregnanolone modulation of GABA-A receptors, and circadian pacemaker disruption. A cross-sectional observational study enrolled 62 female employees from two financial-sector companies in Jakarta during September–October 2018. Instruments included a sociodemographic questionnaire, a validated PMS severity scale, and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Fisher exact test was used for bivariate analysis (p < 0.05). Young adults aged 18–35 years comprised 85.5% of participants. Premenstrual symptoms were universal; 92.7% reported mild-to-moderate and 7.3% severe-to-very-severe intensity. ISI-defined insomnia was detected in 48.4% of participants. Neither age (p = 1.000) nor PMS severity (p = 0.189) reached statistical significance; however, the odds ratio for insomnia in the severe PMS subgroup was 4.77 (95% CI: 0.49–46.3). No significant associations were demonstrated, most likely because an underpowered severe-PMS subgroup precluded reliable detection. The magnitude of the odds ratio signals a clinically meaningful trend warranting prospective investigation with objective sleep measurement and systematic confounder control.

Abstract

Packaging serves not only as product protection but also as a visual communication medium that represents local cultural identity. This study aims to examine how cultural representation is realized through the development of graphic and structural packaging design in the Aneka Rasa and Aneka Buah editions of Dodol Picnic Garut using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic framework. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through visual observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed using Peirce's triadic semiotic model, consisting of representamen, object, and interpretant, to identify the cultural meanings embedded in graphic and structural packaging elements. The findings reveal that Garut's cultural identity is communicated through the integration of color, illustrations, typography, logos, materials, packaging form, transparent windows, carrying handles, and opening systems as a unified system of signs. This study demonstrates that the integration of graphic and structural packaging design effectively represents the geographical, gastronomic, historical, and tourism identities of Garut, thereby extending the application of Peirce's semiotics in packaging design research.
