Abstract

This paper is an attempt to comprehend the epistemology of the Javanese worldview when it is used as the primary argument for indigenous psychology. The aim is to explore epistemology in Javanese psychology as a cultural understanding framework for the concept of knowledge and human experience. Javanese psychology is rooted in the rich Javanese tradition and philosophy, which have a unique way of understanding the universe and human existence in it. The method in this paper is literature research using the Wilhelm Dilthey hermeneutic method. The first step is describing the influence of positivism. The next steps are to discuss the concepts of metaphysics and epistemology in Rasa, and the reasons why indigenous psychology should be built upon the foundation of congruent philosophical thoughts. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the concept of Rasa will become the basis of the epistemological foundation of a new branch of indigenous psychology called Javanese psychology.

Abstract

This study's objective is to investigate the role that factors such as service quality, trustworthiness, and amenities play in determining which guests choose to stay at Hotel XYZ in Jakarta. The research sample was comprised of 215 individuals who were chosen using the process of accidental sampling. The data analysis was carried out with the assistance of SPSS version 25's statistical analysis software, and it made use of both multiple regression and hypothesis testing. The findings of the research indicate that the quality of customer service, level of trust, and amenities offered at a hotel all have a significant impact on the decision-making process involved in selecting a guest room, with individual significance levels ranging from 0.000 to 0.05. In the f-test study, all three of these variables were found to have a significant influence on the decision-making process for selecting a guest hotel simultaneously.

Abstract

The lack of law enforcement is trapped in legal certainty and procedural justice only in carrying out law enforcement powers, ignoring substantial justice, which is the basic goal of the law itself. The purpose of this research is to find out how law enforcement in criminal cases is based on restorative justice by the prosecutor's office. This research method uses the type of normative legal research defined as a research method on statutory rules. The nature of this research is descriptive because it describes systematically positive laws and principles or theories related to restorative justice. The results of this study show that the enforcement of criminal acts based on Restorative Justice by the prosecutor's office is carried out based on the Attorney General's Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 15 of 2020 concerning Termination of Prosecution Based on Restorative Justice. The public prosecutor can terminate the prosecution in the public interest.

Abstract

Teacher engagement and the factors affecting it have been studied previously, but a limited number of studies have investigated structural models. This study used the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach to examine the effects of emotional intelligence, job satisfaction, and professional identity on teacher engagement. An online survey was carried out with a sample of 92 secondary teachers across Nueva Ecija, Philippines. WarpPLS 7.0 was used to analyze the measurement and structural models. The results indicated that emotional intelligence and job satisfaction affect teacher engagement. This study proposes a structural model with meaningful predictive accuracy that can be used as the basis for reformulating or formulating programs to improve teacher engagement.

Abstract

The practice of collecting taxes on companies is one of the burdens that will reduce the company's profits. While the company expects to achieve maximum profits, high profits will make the company's value high, as a result of which it can prosper its shareholders. The company therefore minimizes tax payments through planning and tax avoidance. This study aims to test the effect of tax planning and tax avoidance on firm value in food and beverage subsector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2019–2021 period. This study used secondary data. Measuring the value of the firm using PBV (price to book value), which is the market price per share divided by the book value of the shares, The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Of the 26 manufacturing companies in the food and beverage subsector, only 17 met the sample criteria for this study. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression. By using regression analysis, it can be partially known that tax planning affects the value of the company. Meanwhile, tax avoidance does not affect the value of the company. Simultaneously, it can be seen that tax planning and tax avoidance do not affect the value of the company.

Abstract

Turtles are ancient animal species that have survived millions of years ago until today. The turtle population in Indonesia is currently facing various threats to its sustainability. This study aims to determine the number of stranded turtles and the results of confiscation in the 2018-2023 period and to determine the condition of the turtles after being rescued by TCEC. This research was conducted on January 9 - February 11 at the Turtle Conservation and Education Center. Samples were all types of turtles that were rescued from early 2018-2023 by the TCEC and were rehabilitated in the ponds that had been provided. The results of this study indicate that in 2020 there was an increase in rescue cases carried out by the TCEC. The factor for the surge in rescues in 2020 was due to bad weather which stranded turtles, apart from that there were strong winds, heavy ocean currents, and fishing activities from the community that at that time were affected by Covid-19, all people switched professions to become fishermen which caused a surge in rescue cases with the statement bycatch in 2020.

Abstract

This study explores the complex landscape of business policies and practices relating to contingent labor in the setting of independent retail stores. The workforce in the retail sector is largely made up of contingent workers, who frequently include temporary, part-time, seasonal, and contract employees. Due to the needs of contemporary techniques like just-in-time production as well as seasonal and cyclical dynamics, contingent contracts enable some businesses to maximize employee flexibility. They regrettably frequently earn less money and receive less benefits than regular full-time or "permanent" employees, and they are less likely to be covered by labor and employment regulations. This study utilized the descriptive method of research (Walpole, 2023). As widely accepted, the descriptive method of research is a fact-finding study that involves adequate and accurate interpretation of findings. The purpose of this study is to affirm contingent workers’ valuable role in diversifying the forms of employment relationships available to meet the needs of companies and workers following the corporate policy and practices and what intervention measures will be used to have a smooth operational flow within a company.
