Abstract

Terrorism is an extraordinary crime whose impact is very detrimental to all humans who are victims of this crime. Indonesia, as a member country of the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN), is one of the countries that have received several terrorist attacks, such as the Bali Bombing I in 2002, the JW Marriot Bombing in 2003, the Bali II Bombing in 2005, the JW Marriot and Ritz Carlton Bombings in 2005 and 2009, and lately the terrorist attack that happened in Surabaya in 2018. This article aims to examine and analyze the cooperation between ASEAN and Indonesia and the mutual benefits and challenges of Indonesia-ASEAN cooperation from time to time. Furthermore, the study also examines the challenges and opportunities ahead from both sides and explores new strategies to overcome the challenges ahead and find ways to adapt to the terrorist modus operandi, which is constantly evolving from time to time to maintain stability in ASEAN. This study used the theory of international organizations and international regimes alongside bibliometric analysis methods with VOSviewer software as the theory and tool to analyze the topic.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify challenges faced by Grade 11 Senior High School students in using a modular approach for learning Mathematics in the San Felipe District, Division of Zambales, during the school year 2020–2021. A descriptive research design was employed, and data was collected through a questionnaire from 144 randomly selected student respondents. The findings revealed that the student respondents were typically female teenagers, with fathers working as farmers and mothers as housekeepers. The students rated the challenges of using the modular learning approach as "challenging" in terms of Subject Matter Content, Delivery and Retrieval, and Family Support. The researcher recommended implementing interventions to alleviate challenges among students, parents, teachers, and school administrators. Suggestions included promoting collaborative learning among neighbors, forming subject area expert committees to review module content, managing time effectively, ensuring clear and visual module materials, incorporating relevant activities, and conducting further studies to validate the findings.

Abstract

Fintech has been successful in producing new models in financial services, and creating solutions. Fintech is able to improve risk handling capabilities and reduce the possibility of risks. This research is a quantitative research that measures how Fintech can moderate banking fundamental factors in reducing banking risk. This study uses secondary data sourced from the Financial Services Authority and Bank Indonesia from April 2020 to April 2023. This research used Ordinary Least Square (OLS) to determine the magnitude and significance effect of fintech on non performing loan rate. The result showed that Fintech can reduce banking risk and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) can increase banking risk.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the factors that have prevented the implementation of municipal Islamic bonds in a region with the potential for sukuk issuance in Indonesia. Previous research has identified regions with the potential to issue municipal Islamic bonds, yet none of these regions have done so thus far. Municipal Islamic bonds have the capacity to address regional budget deficits and finance the development of local infrastructure, thereby reducing the need for debt. Hence, the authors conducted research to identify the factors contributing to the lack of municipal Islamic bond issuance in these potentially sukuk regions in Indonesia. The analytic network process was employed as the methodology to determine the priority scale of causal factors. The findings indicate that two main problems exist, namely internal and external issues. The primary factor identified within the internal problem is human resources, while government regulation emerged as the primary factor within the external problem.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of green marketing and lifestyle on the purchase intention of Ades mineral water in Surabaya, particularly among Generation Z and millennials. The population in this study consists of consumers of packaged drinking water who are familiar with the Ades brand and are aged between 17 to 43 years. The sampling technique used to determine the sample is non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling method, involving 112 respondents. The analysis method employed is Smart PLS software with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Green marketing has a positive influence on purchase intention, with a value of 0.590; (2) Lifestyle has a positive influence of 0.131 on purchase intention.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the implementation level of inclusive education among mega high schools within the SOCCSKSARGEN region in the Philippines. Descriptive quantitative and qualitative research designs were employed to describe inclusive education implementation. The study encompassed input from school principals and teachers from four mega high schools, selected via cluster sampling. The findings showed a high implementation level of inclusive education among the respondents and were influenced by several challenging factors resulting in an impact evaluation integrating the theory of change. Over the long term, inclusive education implementation could bring about tangible societal benefits, upholding every student's right to education, aiding social integration, reducing discrimination, promoting equality, and eventually contributing to the development of a more inclusive society.

Abstract

Patients with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) can be at risk of complications with the kidneys. The decrease in the condition of the kidneys impacts the ability of the glomerulus to filter. This study aims to compare the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) based on Creatinine Levels with MDRD and CKD-EPI Formulas. The research was conducted with a cross-sectional approach. The study was carried out from March to April 2021. The sample size of this study was 97 data points on Type 2 DM. The result shows the average eGFR values with the MDRD and CKD-EPI formulas in people with Type 2 DM were 97.85 ml/min/1.73 m2 and 85.67 ml/min/1.73 m2. From the Mann-Whitney test, the results obtained were p> α (0.05), p-value = 0.3498. There were differences in the eGFR values calculated by the MDRD and CKD-EPI formulas.

Abstract

The educational community has started to look into how well gamification works as a way to learn. This study aimed to determine how using Quizizz in a Filipino class would change how motivated and interested the students were. The study used a modified questionnaire and quasi-experimental research design. Descriptive analysis, mean, percentage and standard deviation were used to assess students' motivation and interest in Quizizz and traditional instruction. A paired samples t-test was used to see if there was a difference between how motivated and engaged students were in learning in a Filipino class that used standard methods and one that used Quizizz. Based on the study, there was a big difference between the traditional way and Quizizz in how motivated and interested the students were in learning. The study found that using Quizizz in a Filipino class makes students more curious and want to learn more.

Abstract

The current study was conducted to assess the freshness and pattern of spoiling of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) stored at various temperatures. Nile tilapia purchased from NAQDA - Dambulla with same harvest and size; transported to the laboratory in ice boxes. Fish were randomly divided into four equal groups and stored in 4°C (n=6), -4°C (n=6), -10°C (n=6) & -20°C (n=6) temperatures. Basically, samples were evaluated for 41 days; daily for first five days & then once in two days for six days, once in three days for nine days & finally once in a week for 3 weeks. Organoleptic and demerit points were calculated. From the results, there were significant differences (p<0.05) in freshness of tilapia stored in four different temperatures. However, freshness deterioration in -10°C and -20°C were relatively slow but in 4°C it was rapid. In Sensory evaluation rejection was held at after 3 days (4°C), 14 days (-4°C), 27 days (-10°C) and 34 days (-20°C). Significantly positive correlation was observed between freshness deterioration and storage period r=0.99 (4°C), r=0.98 (-4°C), r=0.90 (-10°C) and r=0.92 (-20°C).
