Abstract

Trait emotional intelligence is considered an essential aspect that helps adolescents understand and regulate their emotional experiences, especially as adolescence is marked by rapid changes and heightened psychological challenges. This study aims to systematically review empirical findings on the role of trait emotional intelligence in adolescents’ mental well-being. The research employed a systematic review design guided by the PRISMA framework, focusing on articles published between 2015 and 2025 in Indonesian or English and involving adolescents aged 13–18. Searches were conducted across major scholarly databases, and fifteen studies met the inclusion criteria. The review indicates that trait emotional intelligence is generally associated with more adaptive psychological outcomes, including better stress management, reduced negative emotional states, and healthier social functioning. Several studies also highlight methodological concerns such as inconsistencies in measurement tools and varied findings across gender. Overall, the results emphasize the importance of trait emotional intelligence as a protective factor for adolescents’ mental well-being and suggest the need for future studies with stronger methodological alignment and more consistent measurement.

Abstract

Political murals along Jalan Asia Afrika in Bandung reveal a narrative void: there is no public art that explicitly commemorates the 1955 Asian-African Conference. This study examines three main aspects: (1) the existence of visual gaps found in cultural heritage areas. (2) How political murals influence perceptions, emotions, and intentions to revisit. (3) an integrated model for urban tourism that combines collaboration between policy makers, the arts community, an annual mural festival, and improvements in digital media. The qualitative-descriptive approach used involved comparative field studies in George Town (Penang), Lembur Katumbiri (Bandung), and Kali Code (Yogyakarta); two field observations with GIS mapping in four high-visibility corridors; in-depth interviews with the curator of the Asian-African Conference Museum and the mural community; focus groups with local artists; expert interviews on AR, projection mapping, and gamification; and an online perception survey (n = 150). Preliminary findings indicate the absence of KAA-themed murals, although community art interventions have increased visits by 35% and emotional connection by 78%. GIS outputs indicate four priority areas for an integrated mural program. Policy recommendations include formal partnerships between the KAA Museum, the Bandung City Government, and the art community; the implementation of an annual political mural festival; and the integration of AR/VR technology to promote educational impact.

Abstract

This research examines criminal liability in cases of unintentional homicide through a comparative study between Islamic criminal law and Indonesian positive criminal law at the Jambi District Court. Unintentional homicide is an act that results in the loss of human life without malicious intent, yet it raises serious legal issues regarding criminal responsibility. In Indonesian positive criminal law, such acts are classified as negligence offenses under Article 359 of the Criminal Code, with sanctions in the form of imprisonment or confinement. In contrast, Islamic criminal law recognizes the concept of qatl al-khaṭā’, which emphasizes moral and social responsibility through the payment of diyat and the fulfillment of kafarat without the application of retaliatory punishment. This study aims to analyze the implementation of criminal liability for unintentional homicide under positive criminal law, examine the concept of criminal liability from the perspective of Islamic criminal law, and compare their similarities, differences, and implications for criminal justice reform. The research employs an empirical juridical method with a qualitative approach, using literature review, analysis of legislation and court decisions, and interviews with judges at the Jambi District Court. The findings show that positive criminal law remains predominantly punitive and offender-oriented, while Islamic criminal law offers a more restorative approach focused on victim recovery and social harmony. This study concludes that restorative justice values in Islamic criminal law are relevant for reformulating criminal liability in unintentional homicide cases to promote a more humane, proportional, and just national criminal justice system

Abstract

This study examines collaborative conflict management among students at SMK Negeri 2 Buton and SMA Negeri 2 Pasarwajo, emphasizing the role of open and coordinated communication in resolving inter-student conflicts. Conflicts in schools are common, particularly among adolescents who are navigating emotional development, identity formation, and social recognition. Such conflicts can manifest as relational tensions, communication misunderstandings, group identity differences, and even aggressive behavior that disrupts the school environment. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to explore the dynamics of conflict and the strategies employed to manage it collaboratively. The findings reveal that the success of conflict resolution is strongly determined by the quality of communication. Open, coordinated, empathetic, honest, and goal-oriented communication fosters mutual understanding, reduces tension, and encourages cooperation between students and the school. Collaborative communication emerges as the key mechanism for achieving peaceful conflict resolution and harmonious social relationships within the school setting. The study also highlights that a collaborative approach is more effective in restoring social relationships than coercive or purely punitive strategies, as it emphasizes dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding. Furthermore, coordination among school actors ensures that messages remain consistent, prevents further misunderstandings, and strengthens institutional support for sustainable conflict management. The study contributes to the literature on educational conflict resolution by demonstrating that collaborative communication is essential not only for resolving immediate conflicts but also for promoting long-term relational stability and a positive school climate. Practical implications suggest that schools should foster a culture of open, empathetic, and structured communication while coordinating across stakeholders to prevent recurrence of inter-student conflicts.

Abstract

This study examines the persuasive communication strategies employed by mediators in divorce case mediation at the Teluk Kuantan Religious Court. Using a qualitative research approach, the study seeks to understand how mediators design and implement communication strategies to manage marital conflict and encourage constructive dialogue between disputing spouses. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of mediation sessions, and document analysis, with the researcher serving as the primary research instrument. The findings reveal that mediators apply a series of structured strategies across the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation, including conflict analysis, persuasive message formulation, empathetic communication, language reframing, emotional approaches, and caucus meetings. The effectiveness of these strategies is influenced by supporting factors such as mediator competence, institutional mediation procedures, and a conducive mediation environment, as well as inhibiting factors including emotional intensity, predetermined decisions to divorce, communication breakdowns, power imbalances, time constraints, and external social pressures. Overall, the study highlights that persuasive communication is central to the mediation process; however, its success depends not only on mediator skills but also on the psychological readiness of the parties and the broader institutional context of court-based mediation

Abstract

Indonesia’s participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) demonstrates its strong commitment to international peacekeeping while functioning as a key instrument of defense diplomacy. Nevertheless, an evolving security environment and the requirements of implementing the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UN PKO) New Model demand a high degree of operational preparedness from the Garuda Contingent. This study seeks to examine the operational readiness of Satgas Garuda, evaluate the application of UN PKO New Model principles, and analyze their strategic implications for Indonesia’s defense diplomacy. A qualitative descriptive approach is employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, document review, and a SWOT analysis supported by IFAS–EFAS matrices. The results indicate that Satgas Garuda’s operational readiness is classified as high, driven by professionalism, discipline, and well-structured pre-deployment training, although challenges persist in logistical support and communication interoperability. The UN PKO New Model has been effectively implemented through CIMIC initiatives, compliance with international legal frameworks, and adaptive engagement with local contexts. From a strategic perspective, the achievements of Satgas Garuda contribute to enhancing Indonesia’s global standing and reinforcing its role in international defense diplomacy

Abstract

The rapid expansion of online higher education following the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased the participation of student-mothers, intensifying the challenges associated with balancing academic, domestic, and professional responsibilities. This situation has heightened the potential for multiple role conflict, particularly in relation to personal religiosity (tadayyun) and academic resilience as internal coping resources. Despite growing attention to work–family conflict, limited empirical research has examined how tadayyun and academic resilience jointly predict multiple role conflict among student-mothers engaged in online learning. This study aimed to analyze the role of tadayyun and academic resilience in predicting multiple role conflict among student-mothers participating in online higher education. A correlational research design was applied using multiple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 150 student-mothers selected through purposive sampling. Partial regression analysis indicated that tadayyun (β = 0.190; p < 0.05) and academic resilience (β = 0.650; p < 0.001) had positive and significant effects on multiple role conflict, with academic resilience identified as the strongest predictor. Simultaneous testing (ANOVA) produced an F-value of 114.747 (p < 0.001), confirming the statistical significance of the regression model. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.610) showed that 61% of the variance in multiple role conflict was explained by tadayyun and academic resilience, while 39% was influenced by other factors beyond the model. These findings demonstrate that tadayyun and academic resilience collectively exert a substantial predictive influence on multiple role conflict among student-mothers in online learning contexts. Future research is encouraged to include more diverse populations and explore additional mediating or moderating variables to better understand the dynamics of role conflict in higher education.

Abstract

This study analyzes the interpretation of registered trademark use in trademark cancellation practices in Indonesia from a legal certainty perspective. It aims to assess the extent to which the regulations and their implementation provide predictable and consistent legal certainty for trademark owners and interested third parties. The research employs a normative legal approach, examining relevant laws, regulations, and expert opinions. It identifies a normative gap in Indonesian trademark law regarding the definition and criteria for trademark use, leading to legal uncertainty in cancellation proceedings. The absence of clear parameters for trademark use results in inconsistent interpretations and court decisions, potentially harming trademark owners, especially SMEs. The study concludes that a clear, objective, and proportional standard for trademark use is necessary to ensure fair and balanced legal certainty in trademark cancellation practices in Indonesia. This standard should consider the function of trademarks as distinguishing marks in commerce, business realities, and the characteristics and scale of businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the effects of Digital Social Capital, Self-Efficacy, and Human Capital on Career Success among fresh graduates in Surabaya. The research is motivated by the high level of educated unemployment and the intense competition within the urban labor market in the digital era. Employing a quantitative explanatory research approach, the study involved 60 respondents who were graduates of the Bachelor of Management and Bachelor of Digital Business programs at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that all three independent variables exert a positive and significant influence on Career Success. Among them, Human Capital shows the strongest effect (β = 0.403; p < 0.001), followed by Self-Efficacy (β = 0.285; p = 0.011) and Digital Social Capital (β = 0.216; p = 0.048). These results indicate that the integration of human capital, psychological resources, and digital social capital plays a crucial role in determining career success among young individuals in the era of digital transformation. Furthermore, this study contributes to theoretical development by integrating Social Cognitive Career Theory and Human Capital Theory, while also providing practical implications for higher education institutions to enhance students’ career readiness through the development of digital competencies, self-efficacy, and professional experience.

Abstract

The COVID-19 vaccination program constitutes a key government policy to mitigate virus transmission and support public health and socio-economic recovery. Despite its strategic importance, the implementation of the vaccination policy in Indonesia has encountered persistent challenges. This study examines the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination policy in Indonesia, with a particular focus on West Java Province, to assess its effectiveness and identify key constraints affecting policy outcomes. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this study is based on a systematic review of academic literature, policy documents, and official government reports related to the national and regional vaccination programs. The findings reveal that during the early phase of implementation, the vaccination policy was insufficient to effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic, as reflected in the surge of cases between June and August 2021, indicating that herd immunity had not yet been achieved, including in West Java Province. While vaccination strategies in Indonesia and other countries are fundamentally grounded in the herd immunity framework, policy effectiveness is strongly shaped by the prioritization of high-risk populations, social dynamics influencing vaccine acceptance, vaccine availability, health system capacity, and the emergence of new virus variants. This study contributes to the literature on public health policy implementation by highlighting structural and contextual factors that constrain vaccination outcomes in decentralized governance settings and offers insights for designing more adaptive and resilient vaccination policies in future public health emergencies.
