Abstract

This study explores the role of financial innovation in enhancing the efficiency of financial management within technology start-up companies in Indonesia. As start-ups in this sector face unique financial challenges, particularly related to funding, risk management, and scalability, financial innovation emerges as a crucial strategy for achieving sustainable growth. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review and library research, this study analyzes existing theories and empirical findings on financial innovations, such as digital payment systems, peer-to-peer lending, and blockchain technology, and their applications within start-up financial management. By examining various scholarly articles, industry reports, and case studies, the study identifies key ways that financial innovations contribute to cost reduction, risk minimization, and streamlined financial processes. The findings reveal that adopting innovative financial tools not only enables start-ups to manage resources more effectively but also fosters better investor relations and enhances competitive advantage. Moreover, financial innovations help bridge financing gaps, making it easier for start-ups to access funding and manage cash flow. This study provides practical insights for start-up founders, financial managers, and policymakers on the importance of integrating financial innovation into the strategic planning of technology start-ups to support robust and efficient financial operations. Ultimately, this research contributes to a better understanding of the evolving role of financial technology in the Indonesian start-up ecosystem, emphasizing its impact on corporate financial management efficiency.

Abstract

This article examines the reception of Islamic broadcasts within the Javanese Muslim community of Wukirsari Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. Drawing on Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory, the study seeks to understand how Islamic broadcasts are received and interpreted by individuals with a more flexible understanding of religion (abangan). The encoding process is carried out by media producers who convey Islamic messages through various programs, such as religious lectures and films. The decoding process within the Wukirsari community results in a range of interpretations of the encoded message, which align with the ideological positions of individuals, namely dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, or oppositional stances. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining the reception theory proposed by Stuart Hall (1980) and the phenomenological approach articulated by Chris Barker (2000), to explore how the Javanese Muslim community in Wukirsari Village interprets and interacts with religious television content. Through in-depth interviews and observations, the findings reveal that most individuals decode Islamic messages from a negotiated position, adapting the message to a more practical and contextually relevant understanding of religion. In conclusion, Islamic broadcasts play a crucial role in shaping the expression of collective religiosity. However, variations in the way the message is received and interpreted are evident, influenced by the social and cultural backgrounds of the audience

Abstract

The main problems in defense industrial policy relate to issues of strength, prestige and prosperity. The defense industry policy instrument in Law No. 16 of 2012 projects policy direction in three main aspects. This article aims to analyze the three main categories of the defense industry in the form of procurement, research and development as well as export regulations for defense industry products in Law No. 16 of 2012. The research method uses qualitative methods. The analysis orientation uses a conceptual approach and legal regulations. The results found explain that the policy direction in the three main categories of the defense industry is in line with import substitution and export promotion policies. Fulfillment of defense industry legal instruments is based on fifteen principles that bind the policy. Defense industrial policy options are commonly used in developing the defense industry of developed countries in the world. The main principle of policy objectives leads to technological innovation schemes for security and defense equipment. The implications of the chosen policy can move the value chain of defense industry products and open up new job opportunities.

Abstract

This research explains the Economic Implications of Defense Supply Chain Vulnerability in Geopolitical Crises by using qualitative methods researchers collect data through triangulation (combined) data collection techniques, inductive data analysis, and qualitative research results emphasize meaning rather than generalization and researchers collect data through a literature study approach by conducting a thorough review of academic articles, websites related to supply chains and those related to defense economics, supply chain management, and geopolitical crises. In an increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape, defense supply chain vulnerabilities have emerged as a critical challenge to national security and economic stability. Geopolitical crises, including the Ukraine-Russia conflict and rising Indo-Pacific tensions, reveal weaknesses such as delays in the delivery of military assets, shortages of advanced technologies and disruptions in the procurement of raw materials. These vulnerabilities lead to increased production costs, inflation and misallocation of resources, affecting not only the defense sector but also the broader economy that relies on interconnected industries. The study underscores the importance of integrating economic policies and defense strategies to improve supply chain resilience, emphasizing lessons from geopolitical crises and the need for international cooperation in securing critical materials.

Abstract

Collective narcissism can be defined as a group's belief in possessing certain unrecognized privileges. In contrast to patriotism, which reflects genuine affection for one's country, collective narcissism tends to be defensive and compensatory. This study examines the impact of collective narcissism, which serves as the foundation of nationalism, on national security. A literature review methodology was employed to explore the psychology of nationalism and the effects of collective narcissism on national security. The findings revealed that collective narcissism has a detrimental impact on national security, including the erosion of democracy, social polarization, the proliferation of prejudice, and the increased dissemination of conspiracy theories within society. However, the research also suggests that these negative consequences can be mitigated by implementing interventions that enhance positive prosocial emotions and social awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs for developing the Merdeka Curriculum in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character, based on local wisdom at the senior high school level, with a focus on the cultural context of West Java communities. The background of this research lies in the predominance of textual and normative approaches in PAI instruction, which have not fully accommodated local values such as religious traditions, regional languages, and living cultural practices within society. Using a mixed-methods approach with a concurrent triangulation design, data were collected through questionnaires and interviews involving 373 students and 191 PAI teachers from five public senior high schools in West Java. The findings indicate that more than 70% of respondents support the integration of local wisdom values into the PAI curriculum. The most prominent aspects include the need for contextual learning guidelines, the scarcity of locally relevant textbooks, and the importance of using regional languages in delivering religious materials. The study concludes that developing a PAI curriculum adaptive to local cultural contexts is not only crucial for enhancing the relevance of learning but also strategic in shaping an inclusive, moderate religious identity rooted in students’ social realities. The results of this needs analysis are expected to serve as both a conceptual and practical foundation for designing a PAI curriculum that is contextual and responsive to the dynamics of Indonesia’s multicultural society.

Abstract

The phenomenon of posthumanism in Indonesia is no longer merely a theoretical discourse, but has become an everyday experience that reshapes social relations, identity, and human existence in the digital era. This study aims to examine how Wregas Bhanuteja's film Andragogy (2023) represents the dynamics of power in posthuman cinema through visual and narrative studies, with the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) approach from Bruno Latour and Jacques Lacan's gaze theory. The results of the study show that the virality of Bu Prani's video in the film functions as a non-human actor who has agency in shaping public opinion, mobilizing social networks, and distributing power. Social media is not only a space of representation, but also regulates social narratives that oppress individuals. Bu Prani loses control over her own identity, trapped in the logic of algorithms and collective power exercised by netizens through the mechanisms of gaze and méconnaissance. Through visual framing that shows how Bu Prani's personal space is reduced and her narrative is constructed by digital social networks, this film highlights the crisis of the subject in the posthuman era. Andragogy is not only an aesthetic critique of the post-pandemic era, but also reflects how power has shifted from humans to digital objects that are able to significantly modulate social life. The findings of this study emphasize that in posthuman networks, humans are no longer the absolute center of social construction, and cinema can be a critical medium to dismantle the tension between human agency and algorithms
