Abstract

The paper analyzes the form of the noun phrase and its translation shift found in the novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”. The shift in translation is used in a major concept in a sentence analysis found in data source. The concept of translation shift is used to know a unit on a different level used to make interesting structures. This study applied the theory proposed by Catford (1978) and Quirk et all (1985). The qualitative method is the research method used by the researcher. In the data of noun phrases, we can see noun as head in the source language. In translating from source language into target language, translation shift occurred in the translation process. This study focuses on syntactic structure and the translation analysis of the noun phrase. This study aims to: (i) identify the types of the noun phrase and its constituent structure found in the novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”, (ii) analyze the types of translation shifts of the noun phrase in the translation process found in the novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”. This study found that structure shift and unit shift were used by the translator in translating from source language into target language. The study found that there are 8 data of noun phrases formed by determiner, adjective, and noun and noun. There is a noun  phrase found in the data source that is formed by determiner and noun. In conclusion, the types of noun phrase found in the data source is formed by determiner, adjective, and noun.

Abstract

This study describes the principal's supervision model in improving teacher performance, the stages of principal's supervision in improving teacher performance, and the obstacles faced in the implementation of principal's supervision in improving teacher performance. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a pedagogical approach, a psychological approach, a sociological approach and a managerial approach. The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Bireuen. Data sources are primary sources and secondary sources. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instruments were interview guides, observation sheets and documentation. The data is processed by editing, coding, and tabulating. The data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested through technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results showed that the supervision models used were conventional models, artistic models, scientific models and clinical models. The stages of supervision are the planning stage including socialization, explaining the supervision indicators, and making a schedule, the implementation stage includes pre-observation, observation and post-observation activities, and the last is the follow-up stage. Obstacles to the implementation of supervision are the broad managerial scope of the principal, teachers are less prepared for learning, the subjectivity of supervisory teachers is still high, there are frequent replacements of principals, limited facilities and infrastructure, and lack of teacher discipline.

The Driving School Implementing School can inspire other schools to take part in the Mobilizing School Program. Motivating School teacher mentoring program. Initially the target was 61,000 people, now it is 23,145 people, with the budget dropping from Rp. 389.3 billion to Rp. 247.7 billion. Likewise with disaster-safe education units. Abstract

Objective of study is to identify and analyze dispute resolution on the authority of state institutions whose authority is granted by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD NRI 1945) by the Constitutional Court as regulated in the constitution, the fourth amendment to Article 24C paragraph 1 UUD 1945. By using a normative juridical research method and analytical descriptive, with a statutory approach, a conceptual approach, and a casuistic approach. Disputes on authority between state institutions are caused by the first; an inadequate system to regulate and oversee relations between existing institutions, secondly; Different interpretations of a provision, third; The mechanism of checks and balances on an equal relationship is possible in the implementation of the authority of each state institution, differences and/or disputes arise in interpreting the mandate of the Constitution, fourthly there is overlapping authority, and fifthly, there is authority of state institutions whose authority is obtained from the constitution or the 1945 Constitution carried out by other state institutions. Abstract

One method that can help students in the learning process is problem based learning. Problem based learning is one of the constructivist learning flow models that requires students to observe the reality contained in everyday life. The purpose of writing this paper is to dig deeper based on a literature study on the definition of problem based learning, characteristics of problem based learning, theoretical basis of problem based learning, steps of problem based learning, evaluation of problem based learning, advantages and disadvantages of problem based learning. From various written sources, it can be concluded that learning Problem Based Learning is obtained some basic values that must be developed by the teacher in enlivening the learning atmosphere, here the teacher does not only act as the main subject in learning but on the other hand the teacher must involve students so that students' critical thinking skills can develop.

Abstract

Spatial reasoning as an important component in students' mathematical thinking and problem solving. How do students think spatially, how is the flow in solving contextual problems, this is spatial reasoning. Spatial reasoning consists of three characteristics, namely perceiving, visual-spatial and transforming. This research is included in descriptive qualitative which aims to describe the spatial reasoning of MTs students in imagining and explaining parts of objects, mentioning and describing parts of objects and changing the shape of objects from the problems given. The subjects in this study were three students from class VIII of MTs Negeri 3 Muara Ampolu Tapanuli Selatan who were taken from each level of mathematical ability, namely high, medium and low abilities after being given an initial math ability test. To find out the profile of students' spatial reasoning in contextual solving, the research subjects were given a spatial reasoning test. The results showed that students with high and moderate mathematical abilities in solving contextual problems that required spatial reasoning had good results. Meanwhile, low-ability students have difficulty in solving contextual problems so that their spatial reasoning has poor results.

Abstract

This research was started with a simple research question to find out the effectiveness of ICARE model implemented on teaching Micro Teaching subject whereas it was embedded in online and offline as a lesson plan in Hybrid learning class. In this research, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative research. It meant the researcher joined both the online class and an offline class to observe the real learning activity and for gaining the learners’ score for measuring the effectiveness of ICARE on Micro Teaching subject in a hybrid learning class. The researcher used two instruments they were observation field note and evaluation sheets. Field note observation was held to observe the learning activities in online in 10 while 4 meetings in offline were held through conducting test. Researcher prepared 20 items indicators which were used to obtain the learners’ score based on performance teaching test. The researcher used likert scale for determining the point gained by learners. The result from observation in online learning showed that mostly learners really enjoyed and were enthusiastic in joining online learning activity in 10 meetings. Meanwhile through the test in offline learning in 4 meetings, there were 7 Learners got more that 90 (excellence) and 8 learners got under 90 (satisfied). So, it was concluded that ICARE model was effective to be implemented altogether in teaching and learning activity in hybrid learning (online and offline) for gaining effective teaching and learning and fabulous fruitful.
