The purpose of this study is to investigate: what contributes to speaking proficiency in second language acquisition. In this case the researcher intends to investigate how language input, conducive environment, and motivation influence students’ speaking proficiency. To develop a deep understanding to the success of speaking proficiency, a qualitative research was conducted. Further, since this study intended to figure out the cause or effect relationship between behavior and outcome, a descriptive qualitative was used to describe the process of succeeding the subjects’ speaking proficiency. The learner who is not less than 12 years old is the potential subject. The subject should qualify to have categorized as “good†level of speaking proficiency minimum based on the test. Research instruments used are in-depth interview and questionnaire. From the finding, the result shows that three aspects, language input, conducive learning environment, and motivation, have contribution in deciding the level of English speaking proficiency.

This paper discusses about the influence of Dutch Colonial government policy in the framework of its Ethical Policy towards pesantren. The Ethical Policy carried out by the Dutch East Indies colonial government throughout the period of 1900 until the independence of Indonesia was accompanied by the issuance of a series of policies which were considered to be pressing and detrimental to Islamic education, especially pesantren in Indonesia, in the form of teacher ordinances, wild school ordinances, and the establishment of Dutch Schools which -since the beginning of the 20th century- the existence of these schools has a direct influence on the existence of Islamic Education, especially pesantren. The effect of this policies was the transfer of pesantren to the rural areas just to maintain their characteristics accompanied by their resistance to infiltration of foreign cultures presented by the Dutch through Western-style public schools and The birth of the madrasah as a response to demands for changes in the education system along with the widespread idea of ​​Islamic reform throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.

The purpose of education in general is to form good people. But the purpose of education will be difficult to achieve if it does not pay attention to the steps in learning in education. There are several concepts of Islamic religious education developed in Indonesia, one of which is the basic concept of Islamic religious education sourced from Imam Al Ghazali. The success of education and learning with the concepts and theories of Islamic religious education is characterized by changes in both cognitive and affective. The Role of Islamic Education in shaping the personality of students should rest on the condition or type of students and the theme to be delivered. So that the material to be delivered is easily accepted by students. However, what is equally important is the existence of exemplary and the ability of educators to provide motivation to learn to proceed towards commendable behavior which is the basic goal of Islamic education.

One method of interpretation of the Qur'an that is developing at this time is a method that emphasizes the theme, commonly called the method of interpretation of maudhu'i (manhaj tafsir al-maudhu'i) or topical method. In the event of an alienation of interpretations monopolized by fundamentalists with their analytical methods (tahlili) or harfiyah (literal), the method of interpretation of maudhu'i as a new manhaj can interact with the text-al-Qur'an (the Qur'an), expected to be able to help Muslims to clarify the theory in the Koran (nadhariah al-Qur'an), the purpose of the Qur'an (maqhasid al-Qur'an), and the rules of the Qur'an at the time of many thought models. The hope is that the method of interpretation of maudhu'i can be a tool (sabilan) and a knife of analysis to reveal the secrets of the Qur'an and its wisdom, which are sometimes vague in the heart, such as in the case of i'jaz al-Qur'an, conformity , tarkib skills, or the contents of thought (al-fikri) and philosophy contained in the Qur'an. The madrasah headmaster did not take the initiative to approach the teaching staff to find out the constraints experienced while teaching and was not yet too intensive in implementing the clinical approach to the teaching staff. This study aims to uncover the processes of academic supervision including; planning, implementing and follow up supervision results at Madrasah Aliyah Darussalam Sumedang. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation study. The results showed that; First, the implementation of academic supervision is carried out by compiling an academic supervision program and creating a supervision team that is given the task of making academic supervision goals and making an academic supervision schedule. Second, the implementation of academic supervision using approaches and supervision techniques; conduct class visits, observe the activities of teaching staff in teaching, observe the mastery of teaching staff towards teaching materials, conduct group discussions. Third, follow up on the results of academic supervision of teaching staff by discussing learning methods, the use and assessment techniques, the use of instructional media and the use of time in learning.

This study focuses on the discussion on education policies issued by the Orde Lama government along with their influence on the existence of madrasas in Indonesia. Especially after the issuance of recommendations from Badan Pekerja Komite Nasional Pusat, the establishment of the Ministry of Religion along with its policies, until the publication of Republic Indonesian Law No.4 of 1950 concerning the Basics of Education and Teaching in Schools. The method used in this study is library research. The purpose of this study is to provide broader and more in-depth insight into the conditions of the madrasa in Orde Lama era. Conceptually, this era was considered as the initial milestone in the development of madrasa towards a more modern system of religious education, which combines religious subjects and general subjects in them.

This research and development (R&D) study is conducted to develop Interactive Listening Comprehension Materials in Self-Learning Center (SLC) for the Students at State Islamic Institutes (IAIN) Kediri. The research involves the students of basic level of the university students, SLC advisor, and four experts. The instruments in needs survey consist of questionnaires, an interview guide, and field notes. The data from the students is calculated in percentage and those from the SLC advisor and from the field notes are described in qualitative way. The data from needs survey is used as the basis for the materials development. A validation form is used to collect the experts’ judgment on the materials. The experts validate the materials in terms of the program and the content of language. The data from the experts are analyzed in percentage and also described qualitatively

Al-Qur’an is the verses of Allah or sayings of Allah derived form the Arabic language, which is the only language maintained. Because the Qur’an unloaded by rote rather than writing, so every revelation that the prophet told to write down and memorize it. With the Qur’ans that we learnt and we memorized it really helps the students to practice and develop their thinking and the power of reason, so that it can optimally use your common sense. Thus, the results or the learning achievement of students will also increase along with the intellectual acuity obtained from the process of understanding and memorizing verses of the Qur’an little by little to be perfect. In this study the authors conducted a field study conducted at the scene of the symptoms with the method used is quantitative method. Data collection techniques in the form of tests, observations, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. Once the data is collected, the researchers conducted a simple linear regression analysis using SPSS 20.0 software. And the results showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) filed accepted and nil hypothesis (H0) that was rejected. Evidenced by the results of the analysis outlined obtained significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 (probability value), using the t test results obtained by t calculate equal to 8.926 is greater than t table of 2.03224, which means that Memorizing the Holy Qur’an (X ) effect on student achievement (Y). Then there is a significant influence of Memorizing the Holy Qur’an (X) on student achievement (Y) is evidenced by the coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.701 or equivalent to 70.1%.

This study aims to reveal the problems that arise when the implementasion of learning in inclusive school take place. Data collection techniques were conducted by interview, documentation, and field observation. Data analysis techniques using analysis of qualitative data verifikatif, that is knowing the hidden meaning behind phenomenon in research location. The result showed that there are four kinds of problem that exist, namely difficulties in modifying curriculum, lack of competence of teachers and students, lack of facilities and infrastructure that support learning and lack of support from parents and community. This research discusses the less of students’ motivation in reading al qur’an as khotmil qur’an activity at MA Darul Faizin Assalfiyah Catak Gayam Mojowarno. The research result shows that this activity increased students’s motivation to learn especially in reding al qur’an. The head master supported it by giving reward to the class that was active in joing the khotmil qur’an activity, and punished those who did not join it. This activity contributed to students’ smoothness in reading al qur’an. Khotmil qur’an is done twice a week in rotation from class to another. And the students’ motivation is proved by their willingness to smoothen the reading of al qur’an becauseof the reward and punishment, and they also want to strngthens the kinship.
