Abstract

The affirmative era is a continuation of the formative era. This era occurred in the Middle Ages, when the tradition of interpreting the Qur'an already had many specific and varied features. This era is also judged to be based on ideological reasoning. Tafsir al-Mizan is included in the category of interpretation in the affirmative era because some of its interpretations are based on the ideological rationale of the exegete, namely Muhammad Husain Tabataba'i. This study aims to describe the manhaj used in Tafsir Al-Mizan Fi Tafsir al-Quran by Muhammad Husain Tabataba'i in studying a verse of the Koran. The methods used in this research are the library research method and descriptive analysis. The results from this research are: Tafsir al-Mizan is a phenomenal work by Muhammad Husain Tabataba'i. His work is inseparable from the author's thoughts, who has a philosophical background in thinking. Even so, the interpretation uses the uslub of the Qur'an, bil Qur'an, and also contains many other commentators' opinions. So the interpretation is called a "very complete interpretation" because it contains many fields of knowledge. The special manhaj or method of writing the interpretation of al-Mizan, namely interpreting the book in sequential order, explains the purpose of the interpreted surah or verse, cites the opinions of the reviewers of the Qur'an and also presents his view, has its section on the discussion of history, specializes in the discussion of philosophical aspects, and provides general conclusions from the verse or letter being studied.

Abstract

Surah Al-Fatihah is called Al Fatihah because the Qur'an begins with this surah. In addition, it is also called the Ummul Kitab because Al Fatihah contains all the problems contained in the Qur'an, namely divinity, nature, the afterlife, worship, and history. Al-Qur'an surah Al Fatihah also has moral values that can reference Indonesia's young generation experiencing a moral crisis. Moral education is essential for the next generation of the nation. It is not enough for a person to be given knowledge alone and the provision of morals that become the capital for a person to live a successful life in the future. The author used the tahlili interpretation method, which is a method that intends to explain the content of the verses of the Qur'an from all its aspects, from the Book of Tafsir Al-Maraghi and Tafsir Al-Misbah. Therefore, this method is very appropriate to reveal the content of the values of a good deed in the Surah al-Fatihah. This research is a literature study using the comparative form of Al Misbah's interpretation and Al-Maraghi's interpretation. Both have the same style in interpreting the verse, namely adabul ijtima'i, namely social society. The results showed that the moral values contained in the Surah Al Fatihah in the first verse Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, that Muslims must read at every start of any word or deed.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that calls for peace. The main Islamic da'wah is peace and love. However, it is quite the opposite if Islam is always associated with various forms of violence today. The violence emerged along with the emergence and development of fundamentalist understanding among religious communities. And then it spread so that it also entered the realm of Islam. So this article will discuss the reasons for the emergence of this understanding, including the failure of Western politics.

Abstract

The dynamics of interpretation in the knowledge of exegesis have continued to develop from the early period of interpretation to the present day. Various methods and approaches are continuously carried out in an effort to create a comprehensive study in various paradigms. Each commentary book has its own methodology and mission to greet its readers. This methodology serves as an initial introduction to understanding the content and mission expected by the interpreter. Thus, knowing the methodology and purpose of a commentary book is a must. Sayyid Qutb's Tafsir Fi zhilalil Quran was present as a response to Muslims who were facing the progress of the times, he positioned himself as an intermediary to always stick to the teachings of the Koran and reject the government system which he judged to be far from spiritual values. The purpose of this research is to discuss the methodology and mission of Sayyid Qutb's Fi Zhilalil Quran interpretation. This type of research is qualitative through literature study, with primary and secondary source analysis. The result of this research is Tafsir Fi Zhilalil Quran by Sayyid Qutb is a bi al-Ma'tsur interpretation, the method used is tahlili with the style of the Muslim liberation movement. The approach used by Sayyid Qutb is a linguistic and social approach.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an always puts forward the opinion or motto "shalih fii kulli zaman wa makan", in the sense that it is not fair to just accept what is expressed literally, but tries to see the context and meaning behind the verses of the Al-Qur’an. In other words, what you want to look for is the "spirit" or moral message of the Qur'an itself. Modern and contemporary interpretations are always encouraged to adapt to the progress that may be the main factor in giving birth and increasing the response of interpreter translators. This article tries to describe the state of some of the modern and contemporary exegetical works that developed in the 19-21 century AD. At the end of the discussion, the writer concludes that the modern and contemporary are dominated by education based on the philosophy of the Qur'an, the Qur'an and natural history, newspapers and the actual Muslim dailu. Here the author also concludes that modern and contemporary interpretations contain strong meanings for the Islamic ummah, both daily problems, as well as objective concrete support for the development of human knowledge.

Abstract

Metaphor in the Qur'an is a form of beauty in the language of the holy book which is one part of literary construction. In addition, it also influences the interpretation. In parrot science it is called majaz. The style of language that puts the meaning of the branch on the original meaning, such as the majaz mursal in the letter Asy-Syu'ara which is meticulously written. The reason for the author to research and study it is, first, the style of majaz influences, expands the meaning of the wording in the Qur'an and understands the meaning desired by Allah Swt. Second, it has implications for translation and interpretation. Third, in the Surah Ash-Syu'ara, Allah Swt uses majaz in the verse of the doom of the previous prophets. Fourth, the verses are interesting both in sentence composition and rhetorically (balāghiyyah). This study uses a descriptive-analytical method of majaz mursal in surah Asy-Syu'ara, using a linguistic approach, especially balagah, by analyzing the verses in the letter, detailing the types of majaz mursal and its 'alāqah, explaining the interpretation and message. From this research, it can be seen, first, in the letter Asy-Syu'ara, there are two majaz mursal in two verses, namely in QS. Ash-Syu'ara: 105 with 'alāqah kulliyah and in QS. Ash-Syu'ara: 208 with 'alāqah mahalliyyah. Second, the two verses depart with different contexts, as well as different themes. In verse 105, regarding Noah's people who denied Noah and the teachings of monotheism. Meanwhile, verse 208 deals with polytheists who reject the Qur'an and ask Allah SWT to hasten the punishment. In addition, the language of majaz is also used in conveying stories as ibrah or lessons. For example in the story of Noah.

Abstract

Tafsir is a science that is very important for Muslims to learn when they want to know the meaning of the contents of the Koran verses. The product that is produced when interpreting the Koran is called the tafsir book. As for the person who interprets the Koran, it is called Mufassir. One of the Shi'i descent mufassirs named Muhammad Husain Thabathaba'i, or known as Thabathaba'i is the book Tafsir Al-Mizan Fi Tafsir Al-Qur'an or abbreviated as Tafsir Al-Mizan. He compiled this interpretation based on the request of his students at the University when he taught to collect the materials he had introduced into a book of commentaries. This interpretation uses the tahlili method with the bil ra'yi interpretation approach and is characterized by theology or philosophy. It can be said that this interpretation tends to be fanatical towards the Shi'a group even though Tabataba'i himself compared it with the Sunni group. This interpretation is also known by using the Quran's method, namely interpreting a verse of the Koran with another verse of the Koran. He believes that verses are related to one another. This interpretation is worthy of being used as a reference for readers compared to other commentary books.

Abstract

The interpretation of the Qur'an is a scientific activity in the scientific family of usuluddin or covers the central affairs of the Islamic religion. The existence of this science is so important because without it the Qur'an cannot be understood clearly. Especially considering the context of the times that continue to develop and change. This reality encourages scholars, commentators, and reviewers of the Qur'an to create new methodologies in interpreting the Qur'an. Maudu'i's interpretation is one of the scientific products. This Tafsir method is part of the scientific development of Tafsir in the contemporary era. However, this does not mean that its new presence will outperform other interpretation methods, of course, as a scientific methodology, there will always be advantages and disadvantages. This study aims to reveal Tafsir Maudu'i and its advantages and disadvantages as one of the Quranic research methodologies related to it as a methodology. This research shows that Tafsir maudu'i has elementary things, which are the keys that distinguish the Tafsir Maudu'i method from other methods. Then another thing is regarding the advantages and disadvantages of this interpretation which can be seen from the relation that uses tartib al-nuzul in the way it is presented.

Abstract

This article aims to find the manhaj of Tafsir al-Kasyaf by Zamakhsyari. Manhaj or the method of interpretation is an essential benchmark in the study of mapping the interpretation methodology. The researchers divide the understanding of the aspects of the technique into four types, namely tahlily, ijmali, maudlu'I, and muqarran. Based on this, the authors want to know more about the Tafsir al-Kasyaf method, both general methods and special methods, with the following discussions: Methods of Interpretation of Tafsir al-Kasyaf and the Systematics of Writing of Tafsir al- Kasysyaf. The authors present a model of Imam az-Zamakhsyari's interpretation of thought in Tafsir al-Kasysyaf because this interpretation significantly influences the wilderness of exegetical thought in the Islamic world. The effect given by this interpretation is not only among the mu'tazilah, but also among the Sunnis who have often rejected the mu'tazilah theology adopted by Imam az-Zamakhsyari.

Abstract

Ahmad Sadzali in his book describes the relationship between religion and the state, which according to him is a conversation that has been going on for a long time and continues, including in Indonesia. This book is divided into three chapters, explaining theocracy, secularism, and tamyiz. Tamyiz is a thought that bridges the two extreme opinions between theocracy and secularism, which is a form of the middle way of thinking. This book does not look at what is no less important than the theme of the relationship between religion and the state, which is related to citizen participation in political decision-making. Often in a secular state, ignoring the opinions of religious people is considered inconsistent with the principles of state neutrality, as stated by John Rawls, especially in the theory of public reason.
