Jurnal Gesture Seni Tari ini memuat tentang penulisan ilmiah dan penelitian seni tari tradisi dan tari non tradisi di Nusantara, hingga menyinggung persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan perkembangan pendidikan seni tari pada abad ini. Sebagai Jurnal Seni yang hadir ditengah-tengah lembaga Prodi Pendidikan Seni Tari; dalam hal ini jurnal gesture akan selalu konsisten untuk berupaya menampung segala bentuk karya tulis ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan bidang (Pengajaran, Pengkajian, Penyajian, Penciptaan, dan Pengelolaan) di Pendidikan Tari FBS Unimed.

Abstract

ABSTRACT -The purpose of this study was to describe the extracurricular teacher's strategy in increasing student interest in learning Nias No Tatema Mbola dance at SMPN 3 Sunggal. The theory used in this study is the theory of direct learning strategies (Direct Instruction) according to the theory of Majid (2014) which explains that delivering learning material in a structured format, directing student activities, and testing students' skills through guided exercises or directions. from the teacher. Then the theory used in this research is the theory of interest according to the theory of Dewa Ketut Sukardi (1994: 61), interest is a liking, an image or a pleasure to something. The research method used by the author uses descriptive research methods through a qualitative approach. Descriptive method can be interpreted as a problem-solving procedure that is investigated by describing the condition of the subject or object in the study which can be people, institutions, society and others who are currently based on visible or what they are. While qualitative research is a research method used to / examine the conditions of natural objects, namely the researcher is a key instrument. Collecting data used by researchers in this study were interviews and direct observation with teachers of SMPN 3 Sunggal. Interviews were conducted using written statements that were developed to translate data and clearer information as needed by researchers. The interview is one of the fairly clear data collection processes, because through interviews you can ask directly how it really is. The results showed that the form of the teaching strategy used by the extracurricular teacher at SMPN 3 Sunggal was divided into several indicators, including: providing explanations and information about the No Totema Mbola dance, dividing students into groups, listening to the music accompaniment of the No Totema Mbola dance, practicing the movement as a whole, teaches various movements to the group, repeats the movement together as an evaluation, provides opportunities for students to ask questions and provides opportunities for students to practice independently as an application of concepts. While the obstacles found in increasing participants' interest Students in the process of learning the No Totema Mbola dance are students who do not master and remember the dance movements, causing a lack of interest in dancing as a whole and learning even harder. Keywords: Strategy, Learning Strategy, Extracurricular & Student Interest ABSTRAK-Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi Guru ekstrakulikuler dalam meningkatkan minat siswa pada pembelajaran tari Nias no tatema mbola di SMPN 3 Sunggal. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori strategi pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) menurut teori Majid (2014) yang menjelaskan bahwa menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dengan format yang terstruktur, mengarahkan kegiatan para siswa, serta menguji keterampilan para siswa melalui latihan-latihan dengan bimbingan atau arahan dari guru. Lalu teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori minat menurut teori Dewa Ketut Sukardi (1994: 61), minat merupakan suatu kesukaan, gambaran atau kesenangan akan sesuatu. Metode penelitian yang dipakai penulis menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Metode deskriptif dapat diartikan sebagai prosedur pemecahan masalah yang diselidiki dengan menggambarkan keadaan subjek atau objek dalam penelitian dapat berupa orang, lembaga, masyarakat dan yang lainnya yang pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak atau apa adanya. Sedangkan penelitian kualitatif adalah metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk/ meneliti pada kondisi objek alamiah, yaitu penulis (peneliti) merupakan instrumen kunci. Pengumpulan data yang dipakai penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan observasi langsung dengan Guru SMPN 3 Sunggal. Wawancara dilakukan dengan menggunakan pernyataan secara tertulis yang dikembangkan untuk menjalinkan data dan keterangan yang lebih jelas sebagaimana yang penulis butuhkan. Wawancara menjadi salah satu proses pengumpulan data yang cukup jelas, sebab melalui wawancara dapat ditanyakan secara langsung bagaimana sebenarnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bentuk strategi pengajaran yang digunakan guru ekstrakulikuler di SMPN 3 Sunggal terbagi kedalam beberapa indikator, antara lain: memberikan penjelasan dan informasi mengenai tari no totema mbola, membagi peserta didik kedalam kelompok-kelompok, mendengarkan iringan musik tari no totema mbola, mempraktekkan gerakan secara keseluruhan, mengajarkan gerak per ragam kepada kelompok, mengulang kembali gerakan secara bersama-sama sebagai evaluasi, memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk bertanya serta memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk latihan mandiri sebagai penerapan konsep. Sedangkan hambatan yang ditemukan dalam meningkatkan minat peserta didik pada proses pembelajaran tari no totema mbola adalah peserta didik yang kurang menguasai dan mengingat gerak tari tersebut sehingga menimbulkan kurangnya minat untuk menari secara keseluruhan serta belajar lebih giat lagi. Kata Kunci: Strategi, Strategi Pembelajaran, Ekstrakulikuler & Minat Siswa

Abstract

Tor -tor dance IlahMardidong is growing and developing in Simalungun . Tor- tordance is a tradition that has been rearranged forms of the movement in 1985 by aman named Lina Br Damanik . The purpose of this study is to discuss the tor-torIlahMardidong viewed from the standpoint of choreographic form.The theory used in this research is the theory of Forms choreography Sudarsonowhich contains about : motion , theme , design floors , top design, fashion andmusic . This theory became a reference for peeling the existing problems in thetor- tor god mardidong .When the study to discuss IlahMardidong dance performed during 3 months ,iefrom the beginning of October 2015 through December 2015. The study in thevillage of Huta III Glare Malela . Glare SubdistrictMalela . The population is threepersons namely speakers , traditional leaders , and artists who know about theculture Simalungun . samples in this study were of three persons namely speakers, traditional leaders and artists in Simalungun . Data collection techniquesincluding observation , interviews , literature study and documentation , which isthen analyzed by qualitative descriptive method .Based on research done that tor-tor IlahMardidong have a soft form of motion,tortorIlahMardidong wear internal musical accompaniment is music that is bornout of the human body . Clothing used in this Tortor is yeast pane ,surisuri andheaddress silappei . The themes contained in this dance is the hope of a mother forher child , and the top design contained in this dance is the design in the design,low design and asymmetrical design .

Abstract

 This study aimed to describe the transformation of dance styles Piso Surit located in Langkat District of done. In this discussion the use of theories related research topics such as the theory of transformation and the theory of style. The method used qualitative methods, population research traditional leaders, cultural figures and artist. File collection techniques in clude field observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. Based on this study, it can be seen that dance Piso Surit in Langkat undergo transformation style, a style of dance that looks more open and energetic, it isinfluenced by several factors,namely:revolution, social change takes place rapidly result in changes to the dance Piso Surit, in addition to other factor such as the revolution of the internal and exsternal factors. Interna : the lack of attention from the public Karo so that the culture gradually changed mainly in art dance Piso Surit. Abstract

Kerja Tahun adalah sebuah perayaan berupa pesta sebagai rasa ungkapan syukur kepada Sang Pencipta atas keberhasilan panen padi yang diadakan setahun sekali. Dalam upacara Kerja Tahun, Gendang guro-guro aron di dalamnya terdapat Bapa aron dan Nande aron serta Perkolong-kolong yang sangat berperan aktif dalam acara tersebut, Perkolong-kolong adalah penyanyi (sirende) yang sekaligus penari yang ditampilkan oleh sepasang pria dan wanita. Kehadiran Perkolong-kolong dalam acara Kerja Tahun adalah sebagai penyanyi sekaligus menari dan berbalas pantun berisikan nasihat dan canda, yang memberikan hiburan kepada Masyarakat.   Kata kunci: Kerja Tahun, Parkolong-kolong,hiburan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                                             The aim of this study  is determine the effect of olah tubuh technique on the quality of colour guide player’s motion in Gita Bahana Karya  at Yayasan Perguruan Tunas Karya Batang Kuis. The theory used is Sumedi Santosa's theory of olah tubuh, and Soedarsono's theory of motion quality. This type of research is a quasi experiment with the design of the two group posttest design research. Sample of the studies are 30 people were divided into two groups, namely a and b which were determined by total sampling technique, 15 people in group a were given olah tubuh technique and 15 people in group b were not given. The instruments used in this study were body observation sheets and motion quality assessment sheets, each of which consisted of assessment aspects and indicators. The results of the quality of the color guard player's motion in the treated group a had an average increase of 50.37 to 84.62, while the quality of the color guard player's motion in the untreated group b had an average of 45,72 to 61,29 is lower than group a. Based on the results of data processing, it shows that there are significant differences in the effect of olah tubuh technique on the quality of the color guard player’s motion in Gita Bahana Karya at Yayasan Perguruan Tunas Karya Batang Kuis. Keyword : Olah Tubuh, Motion Quality, Colour Guard, Marching Band  ABSTRAK  Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh olah tubuh terhadap kualitas gerak pemain colour guard Gita Bahana Karya di Yayasan Perguruan Tunas Karya Batang Kuis. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori tentang olah tubuh oleh Sumedi Santosa, serta teori tentang kualitas gerak oleh Soedarsono. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian two group pretest postest design. Sampel penelitian 30 orang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu a dan b yang ditentukan dengan teknik total sampling, 15 orang kelompok a yang diberikan olah tubuh dan 15 orang kelompok b yang tidak diberikan olah tubuh. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar pengamatan olah tubuh dan lembar penilaian kualitas gerak colour guard, masing-masing terdiri dari aspek dan indikator penilaian. Hasil kualitas gerak pemain colour guard pada kelompok a yang diberi perlakuan mengalami peningkatan rata-rata 50,37 menjadi 84,62, Sementara kualitas gerak pemain colour guard pada kelompok b yang tidak diberi perlakuan mengalami peningkatan rata-rata lebih rendah dari kelompok a yaitu 45,72 menjadi 61,29. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan akibat diberikan olah tubuh terhadap kualitas gerak pemain colour guard Gita Bahana Karya di Yayasan Perguruan Tunas Karya Batang Kuis. Kata Kunci: Olah Tubuh, Kualitas Gerak, Colour Guard, Marching Band.

Abstract

This research aims to know comparison of the Laweut dancePidie and Lhokseumawe. The sample in this study was a dancer and artist who knew a lot about Laweutdance and art Aceh, located in Pidie and Lhokseumawe. Location of the research conducted in the districts of PidiesubdistrictSigli and the city of LhokseumawesubdistrictLilawangsa, precisely in  PusakaNanggroePidie dance studio and Lhokseumawe in GentaSeuramoedance studio. Time in this research were conducted from July to August. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, which gives a picture, description, information, about a situation that is going on based on the facts. Data was collected through field observations, interviews with several speakers who are competent to problem the study and recording (video and audio-visual). After research it can be seen from the comparison of Laweut dancePidie and Lhokseumawe. Similarities and differences that exist of the form of presentation, especially of motion. Motion is in Pidie dominant on finger picking motion (ketrepjaroe) and the dominant motion from Lhokseumawe area is clap hands, his verse also have many differences. Structural equation lies only in the round Laweut dance, saleuem, likok, saman, kisah, and extracts or lanie. Knowing how the origins of Laweutdance influx of Pidie which is the beginning of the Laweutdance created and grown up to Lhokseumawe. The development of Laweutdance Pidie to Lhokseumawe because people who migrate or seek new life to Lhokseumawe bring all the traditions or culture then develop in Lhokseumawearea and adapt in the area and eventually bring a new form of dance that is seen that this isLhokseumawe’sLaweut that will distinguish the area through the development of the original motion, poetry, pattern, costumes and so on. Abstract

ABSTRACT, This study aims to describe the application of the learning salsa dance through audio visual media to improve student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 6 Medan. The theory used in this research is the theory of application using Ali theory 2007, experimental theory using Roestiyah theory 2001, and learning outcomes using Purwanto theory 2009. The method used in this research is desccriptive quantitative. The population in this study were 139 students in class XII and the sample in this study was class XII- MIA-2, totaling 30 students.The result showed that the application of salsa dance learning through audio-visual media was very effective because students became more active,enthusiastic and could improve student learning outcomes.Increasing student learning outcomes becomes more active with the presence of audio-visual learning media which contains foreign dance material.In the audio visual media, there is an explanation of dancers. The results of the mean value at the pretest are 38.83 and the postest 90. From the distribution list t for 0 =0,05 the price of tcount> t table dance (1.723> 1.699). So it can concluced that Ha accepted an increase in learning outcomes in salsa dance material through audio visual media.                                                                       Keywords: Application, Audio Visual Media, Learning Outcomes  ABSTRAK, Penelitian in bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran tari salsa melalui media audio visual untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 6 Medan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Ali 2007,teori eksperimen menggunakan teori Roestiyah 2001, dan hasil belajar menggunakan teori Purwanto 2009. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII yang berjumlah 139 siswa dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XII-MIA-2 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran tari salsa melalui media audio visual sangat efektif karena siswa menjadi lebih aktif, semangat serta dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa menjadi lebih aktif dengan adanya media pembelajaran audio visual yang berisikan tentang materi tari mancanegara. Di dalam media audio visual tersebut terdapat penjelasan gerak tari berdasarkan elemen ruang, waktu, dan tenaga ditambah dengan gambar penari. Hasil nilai rata-rata pada pretest yaitu 38,83 dan postest 90. Dari daftar distribusi t untuk 0 = 0,05 harga hitung > tabel (1,723 > 1,699). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dalam materi tari salsa melalui media audio visual.Kata Kunci : Penerapan, Media Audio Visual, Hasil Belajar

Abstract

The function of TortorMangaloaloTondong on Occasion of Par RohParmaen in WeddingCeremony Simalungun at SipispisSerdangBedagai district.SendratasikDepartement. DanceEducation Program Fakulty of language and Art. State University of Medan. This studydiscusses about the function of TortorMangaloaloTondong on Occasion of Par Rohmaen inWedding Ceremony Simalungun at SipispisSerdangBedagai district. The theory is used theoryof function. Population of study aretradisional leaders. Simalungun people who knows aboutTortorMangaloaloTondong. The data collection was conducted by real work methods it wereinterviews, direct observation, documentation and literature study. The methods is used in thisstudy is qualitative method and descriptive approach. The result of the revealed thatTortorMangaloaloTondongfunction were server as the communication between human andhuman (suhutbolon and tondong). Tondong respected for delivering advice to suhutbolon andbride in tortor, humans communication to God were gratitude to God because the weddingceremony had done clearly, human and nature to see the weather, determine a good day for thewedding ceremony.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the steps for packing the Munalo Dance learning material based on blended learning for students of SMAN 8 Takengon. The theory made in this study uses a theory from Dwiyogo (2018: 59) which reveals that blended learning refers to learning that combines or mixes between face to face learning and computer-based learning (online and offline). In this research process the method used in this study is a qualitative method. The population is cultural arts teacher and X grade students of SMAN 8 Takengon while the research sample is cultural arts teacher and 12 students of SMAN 8 Takengon. The technique of collecting data is done by observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. These data are then analyzed by qualitative descriptive methods. This packaging is in KD.3.1 syllabus for dance class X. For this reason, it takes 3 stages, namely the analysis phase, the evaluation stage and stage. The learning material for Munalo Dance based on blended learning has been tested by media experts and material experts so that it is very feasible to be used as learning media. The research results obtained were Munalo Dance learning materials packed in VCD form, which can be learned through the website http://www.sman8 takengonunggul.sch.id (based online) and used as a learning medium when face-to-face offline)            Keywords: Packaging Learning Materials, Munalo Dance, Blended Learning ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan langkah-langkah pengemasan materi pembelajaran Tari Munalo berbasis blended learning untuk siswa SMAN 8 Takengon. Teori yang di jadikan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Dwiyogo (2018:59) yang mengungkapkan bahwa blended learning mengacu pada belajar yang mengombinasikan atau mencampur antara pembelajaran tatap muka (face to face)  dan  pembelajaran  berbasis  komputer (online dan offline). Pada proses penelitian ini metode yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Populasinya guru seni budaya dan siswa-siswi kelas X SMAN 8 Takengon sedangkan Sampel penelitiannya guru seni budaya dan 12 siswa-siswi SMAN 8 Takengon. Teknik pengumpulan data di lakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan, dan dokumentasi. Data-data ini kemudian di analisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Kemasan ini di susun berdasarkan KD.3.1 silabus seni tari kelas X. Untuk itu, dibutuhkan 3 tahapan yaitu tahap analisis, tahap rancangan dan tahap evaluasi. Materi pembelajaran berbasis blended learning ini telah diuji kelayakan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi sehingga sangat layak untuk dijadikan media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian yang di peroleh adalah materi pembelajaran Tari Munalo di kemas dalam bentuk VCD, yang dapat di pelajari melalui website http://www.sman8takengonunggul.sch.id (berbasis online) dan di gunakan sebagai  media pembelajaran saat tatap muka (offline). Kata kunci : Pengemasan Materi Pembelajaran, Tari Munalo, Blended Learning

THE STRUCTURE OF THE MALAY SOCIETY PAN DANCE IN DISTRICT OF LANGKAT REGENCY STABAT Other dance was one of the traditional Malay tribes dance movement is the combination of motion of silat. This study aims to shed light on the existing structure at a smaller dance. To address the above research purposes, use the theories related to research topics, such as the notion of sejarahasal origin, structure and understanding. Data analysis in this study uses qualitative data collection techniques, deskritif done with observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. Time study conducted to discuss Pan dance for 3 months, i.e. from 4 June 2014 until end of August 2014. The location of the research is the coastal village of Gemi, district of Langkat Regency Stabat. Based on the research that has been done, no one knowing when, where, and who created the dance of Pan. The dance is named after Pan because it uses a smaller property. Pan is a usually-lipped talam compatriots on the edges and footed. Pan is a welcoming dance dance as well as a tribute to the who held an event and serve as dance entertainment. In motion dance Pan, the majority of the movement is derived from the gerakjurus silat. Pan just dance performed by a group of male dancers and odd.
