Abstract

Water is a very crucial need in the laboratory, the quality of the water used in the testing process, including media preparation, washing glassware, and others, will influence the success of a test. Demineralized water is water that has gone through a mineral removal process which is a requirement for water in biological testing laboratories. To meet the need for demineralized water, the agency chose to process it independently using a Mixed Bed Demineralizer unit. Demineralized water produced by Mixed Bed Demineralizers must meet the quality standards used as a reference in laboratories, namely having a conductivity below 25 µS/cm, equivalent to a TDS of 12,5 ppm and a total plate count below 1000 colonies/ml. Based on studies conducted, the use of a Mixed Bed Demineralizer is effective in meeting the need for demineralized water because apart from meeting the quality standards required as a laboratory accredited by SNI ISO/IEC 17025:2017, it is also 98% more cost effective compared to buying from outside. Quality control of demineralized water is carried out to ensure the quality of microbiological testing and is the right choice as well as being more cost effective.

Abstract

Water is an important factor for plant growth. A few studies about the amount of water required by the seed for radicle emergence in germination has been done. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture IPB Bogor. Maize seeds were planted using a solution of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) 6000 with a concentration level of 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. A Completely Randomized Design with 3 replications was used in this research. The appearance of the radicle first occurred in phase II, namely during the 48-hour observation for the Ψ -0,13 MPa treatment (5% PEG) and 60 hours for the Ψ -0,4 MPa treatment (10% PEG). The results showed that testing maize seed vigor under drought stress can use water potential (Ψ) higher than -0,4 MPa. The results showed that water potential (Ψ) of -0,4 MPa or higher can be used in vigor testing of maize seed.

Abstract

The Covid pandemic caused demand for ornamental plants to increase, but sales declined again when the pandemic subsided. These conditions encourage farmers to become agile learners in product marketing following the changes that occur. Digital marketing is a marketing technique that is currently widely used and in demand by the public. Online marketing makes it easy for ornamental plant farmers to introduce their ornamental plant products. The purpose of this research is to find out the interest of the Indonesian people in ornamental plants which are widely sold online. The research method was carried out by means of an online survey with data sources from respondents. The survey results show that more than 200 respondents aged over 40 years occupy the highest position in the number of respondents. Respondents become a benchmark for the views of the community. Public interest in buying ornamental plants is highest with a price range of Rp. 50.000,- up to Rp. 100,000,-. Criteria for selecting ornamental plants based on colour, shape and price of ornamental plants are highly considered, while the scarcity of ornamental plants is optional for some people and for others it is a big consideration when purchasing ornamental plants. Public Satisfaction Buying ornamental plants online is still in a neutral position, so the quality or service of the seller needs to be improved.

Abstract

Sistem monitoring ini berperan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas BSF dengan pemantauan suhu dan intensitas cahaya di dalam bilik asmara BSF. Oleh karena itu, sebuah alat monitoring yang dapat diakses secara jarak jauh dirancang sehingga dapat membantu pembudidaya mengoptimalkan produktivitas BSF. Alat ini memanfaatkan sensor suhu DHT-22 dan sensor intensitas cahaya Ambient Light Sensor untuk mengukur kondisi lingkungan di dalam bilik perkawinan BSF. Data yang terkumpul dari sensor-sensor ini akan diirim ke sistem Internet of Things (IoT) untuk pemantauan dan analisis. Melalui pemanfaatan teknologi IoT, data suhu, kelembapan, dan intensitas cahaya akan terhubung ke aplikasi Blynk IoT. Hasil dari penelitian ini membahas tentang desain alat monitoring, penerapan teknologi IoT, manfaatnya dalam manajemen bilik perkawinan BSF.

Abstract

Sistem informasi GiziGrowth merupakan sistem berbasis website yang dirancang sebagai media edukasi kepada msyarakat terhadap masalah stunting dan ketahanan pangan sehingga terbentuk masyarakat yang lebih peduli serta dapat mengambil upaya dalam mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun rancangan sistem informasi GiziGrowth berbasis website yang sesuai untuk membantu menyebarkan informasi tentang stunting dan ketahanan pangan. Perancangan website GiziGrowth menerapkan metode Agile Model, yaitu metode yang menerapkan prinsip pengembangan perangkat lunak yang fleksibel, adaptif, dan berbasis tim serta menekankan iterasi dan kemajuan berkelanjutan. Sistem perangkat lunak dibangun menggunakan framework laravel dengan desain antarmuka menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dan terintegrasi dengan database MySQL. Hasil penelitian dideskripsikan dengan menggunakan bahasa pemodelan UML (Unified Modeling Language).

Abstract

Penelitian ini menghadirkan website "Bitani Point" sebagai solusi untuk menghadapi masalah kesulitan mencari informasi supplier bibit dan benih yang efisien di Kota dan Kabupaten Bogor. Dengan menggunakan metode Agile Development, website ini tidak hanya memberikan informasi tentang supplier, tetapi juga menyediakan fitur kalkulator bibit, pemetaan lokasi supplier, dan forum diskusi. Melibatkan admin, supplier, dan pengguna umum, penelitian ini menjalankan tahap perencanaan, implementasi, pengujian, dokumentasi, penyebaran, dan pemeliharaan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa "Bitani Point" dapat memudahkan pengguna dalam mencari bibit dan benih sesuai kebutuhan mereka, memberikan kontribusi dalam mendukung pertanian yang berkualitas di daerah Kota Bogor.

Abstract

Tool functionality and appearance are important factors in determining whether Felova products are worth using to assist in watering and applying fertilizer to vanilla plants. Products with the best performance and appearance will increase efficiency and help users achieve optimal vanilla yields. Felova is an automated fertigation and irrigation tool. This survey was conducted to determine whether the performance and appearance of the Felova tool significantly influence the interest in using digital technology for vanilla plantations. Sample data was collected through questionnaires to 20 respondents of IPB University Vocational School students at the IT Festival 2023 event. This study utilizes a multiple linear regression analysis approach to test the impact of three variables, namely tool performance (X1) and tool appearance (X2) as independent variables, while user interest (Y) acts as the dependent variable. The analysis of multiple linear regression showed that the parameter value for variable X1 was -0.271 with a significance value of 0.280. The parameter value for variable X2 is 0.087 with a significance value of 0.731. Both significance values are compared with an alpha value of 5%. Furthermore, the results showed that neither the overall performance nor the appearance of the Felova tool significantly influenced user interest. The value of the coefficient of determination shows 0.070, which means that the performance and appearance of the tool can explain the user interest variable by 7% and the remaining 93% is affected by other factors outside the model.

Abstract

IPB Gunung Gede is one of the campuses owned by IPB University. Stray cats are found in this campus area with quite a large population. One of the diseases found in wild cats is a disease caused by worm infection (helminthiasis). This study used feces samples from 18 stray cats. The stool examination carried out is macroscopic and microscopic examination. The results of the macroscopic examination found feces with a soft consistency, with a yellow, greenish yellow to brownish yellow color, the feces did not have a foul smell, but was typical of cat feces, there was no fragmentation of worms, mucus and blood. The results of microscopic examination using native and flotation methods found the presence of Ascarid and Strongylid worm eggs. The types of adult worms that have these eggs are Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma spp. The presentation of worm infections in stray cats on the IPB Gunung Gede Campus is 85%. The cause is thought to be due to a large population which makes it easy for worm eggs to spread to stray cats.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain the best type and dose of herbal medicine to inhibit the pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila growth. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Health and Environment, Technology and Management of Applied Aquaculture Study Program, College of Vocational Studies, IPB University. This research tested herbal ingredients, including turmeric, galangal, guava, ketapang, and cinnamon, according to their respective doses. Each treatment was tested singly and in combination using the Kirby-Bauer method and co-culture. The parameters measured were the diameter of the inhibition zone and the number of pathogenic bacteria. The results showed that cinnamon leaves could inhibit the growth of the pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila to the greatest extent, with an inhibition zone of 11 mm and the smallest number of pathogen colonies growing, namely 0,11 x 109 CFU/mL. The results of the combined test between herbal ingredients, ketapang leaves and papaya leaves produced the highest inhibition zone, namely 9,5 mm. The best results in this research were cinnamon, whether tested single or in combination with ketapang leaves, which was able to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Proses pemindahan ternak merupakan kegiatan yang pentng dalam usaha peternakan. Hal ini dikarenakan keberadaan lumbung ternak memiliki jarak yang cukup jauh dengan konsumen utama ternak. Masyarakat Indonesia melakukan proses pemotongan domba atau kambing selain untuk kuliner juga untuk kebutuhan ritual agama. Oleh karena itu proses pemindahan ternak hidup merupakan pilihan utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi pengaruh letak domba dalam deck pickup terhadap susut bobot badan dan keuntungan dalam perjalanan dari Jember ke Magetan jawa Timur. Ternak yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan domba Jantan dugul yang berasal dari Jember berjumlah 60 ekor dengan sampel yang diambil berjumlah 18 ekor. Moda yang transportasi yang digunakan adalah pickup 3 tingkat (deck). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah letak domba pada deck pickup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa domba yang berada di deck 1 (deck paling bawah) mengalami penurunan bobot badan 15% dari bobot awal berbeda nyata dengan domba yang berada di deck 2 dan 3 (P<0,01). Hal ini juga signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kerugian yang ditimbulkan akibat transportasi domba. Domba pada deck 1 signifikan paling tinggi kerugiannya dibandingkan dengan domba pada deck 2 dan deck 3 (P<0,01). Kesimpulan yang di dapatkan dari penelitan ini bahwa letak domba dalam deck pickup berpengaruh pada susut bobot badan dan lost opportunity cost yang di dapatkan oleh peternak.
