Abstract

The development of a region is related to the process of procurement of goods/services. Good and quality service will improve the image of the procurement of goods/services in serving the procurement of goods/services in Sidoarjo Regency. For this reason, measurement of service satisfaction level is needed to determine the quality of services that have been provided so far. The purpose of this study is to determine the distribution of user satisfaction based on five dimensions of service quality,i.e., tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy with two variables of reality and expectations, and knowing things that hinder the tender process. Retrieval of data is done with two kinds of internal and external questionnaires using simple random sampling method. Overall, 100% of respondents express satisfaction but there are some things that need to be improved. The results of the study from the external side show a very large gap in the completeness aspect of the electronic pre-tender process of 5.60%, while the biggest internal gap is the aspect of tender planning, which is 6.97%. Dimensions that need to be prioritized for improving the quality of service to reduce the gap are assurance dimension from the external and responsiveness from the internal.

Abstract

The quality of lighting in a room will affect visual comfort. It is determined by light beam that hits observer’s eyes generating a specific response. Meanwhile, the indicator that represents visual comfort is glare, especially discomfort glare. Glare index in a room, one of them, is stated by Unified Glare Rating (UGR) value affected by the ratio of glare source’s luminance and background in a specific solid angle and position between observer and luminaire. As a result, it is needed to conduct an assessment to know glare potency in a room. The popular method measuring UGR is by analyzing pixel value from High Dynamic Range (HDR) image captured by 180-degree camera. At the same time, the implementation of 360-degree camera in assessing photometry has also been developed. However, the implementation is not been applied to measure glareyet. Therefore, this paper is aimed to implement 360-degree camera determining UGR value of HDR image. It is conducted by comparing the UGR value to 180-degree camera image. The result shows the significant irrelevance of both cameras. Statistical analysis on Lmean and Lstd found that the coefficient of determination is less than one and Root Mean Square Error(RMSE) is bigger than 0.1, while F-test and T-test results are less than 0.05. The value of Coefficient Variation ( CV) 180-degree camera is bigger than 360-degree camera which stated the data of luminance value is more spread out. It shows that the use of 360-degree camera with per-pixel analysis on HDR image to measure glare is not appropriate.

Abstract

The use of radio spectrum in L-to-X bands is currently very diverse, with various types of devices. Therefore, an antenna with good response on very wide spectrum is expected to be a solution for diverse devices. By widening the antenna bandwidth that is applied to the ultra-wideband (UWB) communication, it is expected to be able to meet wireless communication needs on other bands or frequencies. The UWB antenna has the fractional bandwidth of at least 20% of its center frequency. This paper proposes an attempt to widen the bandwidth of planar UWB antenna with a circular patch (resonator) using coplanar waveguide (CPW). The study was conducted by the phased modification scenario using tapered line and spline-curved ground plane method. This method achieved a UWB antenna with fractional bandwidth of 145.57% (with a testing limit up to 12 GHz frequency) in the size of 40×50 mm2. At the testing bandwidth (L-X band), the basic form antenna (Model A) has a total bandwidth achievement of 39.36% (triple-band); the first antenna modification using tapered line at the feed line (Model B) has total bandwidth achievement of 83.09% (dual-band); and the last antenna modification using the tapered line (from the first modification) with the spline-curved ground plane addition (Model C) has total bandwidth achievement of 91.91% (single-band).

Abstract

Nowadays, technology is growing and helping the human work. One of those technologies is object mapping or localization in an indoor environment. The technology is often used to determine position is Global Positionig System (GPS). However, GPS signal is difficult to receive when the device is inside a room or building. Therefore, in this research Indoor Localization is implemented at Telkom Institute of Technology Purwokerto with Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which uses ZigBee as communication protocol. One of indoor localization stages is distance estimation, which in this case, is carried out using Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) by grouping the value of Path Loss Exponent (PLE) based on room characteristics (clusters). Some methods for position estimation based on number of reference nodes are trilateration and multilateration methods. From the measurement results, the distances estimation with PLE clusters has an error of 0.534 meters and PLE without clusters has an error of 0.903 meters. For accuracy estimation, the best position is obtained on PLE cluster multilateration that has the value of 0,714 meters for Mean Square Error (MSE) and 1.2 meters for the lowest value MSE at trilateration without PLE clusters. The computational time of the four methods (multilateration without PLE clusters, trilateration without PLE cluster, multilateration with PLE clusters, and a trilateration with PLE clusters) are almost identical, between 8.72 to 8.75 second.

Abstract

Quadcopter has nonlinear dynamics that require a robust controller to be able to fly stably. This paper uses a nonlinear controller, namely Sliding Mode Control (SMC). SMC has advantages such as robust from disturbance and uncertainty of parameters and ability to maintain stability, even when the dynamics model is not precise. The simulation compares the reliability of conventional SMC and modified SMC controls. Modified SMC control has the purpose of increasing the robustness of control system from disturbance and uncertainty. Based on the simulation, the modified SMC control has better reliability than conventional SMC. In conventional SMC control, the quadcopter response on the x-axis, to the reference position, has overshoots of 0.7 meters and 0.48 meters; and an undershoot of 0.45 meters. Then, the y-axis movement response has an overshoot of 0.3 meters and undershoots of 0.3 meters and 0.48 meters. The conventional SMC output of the z-axis movement has an undershoot of 1.75 meters, while on the modified SMC control, there are only overshoot and undershoot of 0.3 meters on the y-axis movement. Modified SMC control is more reliable than conventional SMC controls because the switching control of the modified SMC can adaptively change, according to the error caused by interference. The greater the uncertainty, the greater the error. A large error can increase the switching control frequency, so that the level of robustness will increase

Abstract

Channel State Information (CSI) at the base stations obtained via the uplink trainingis an important factor in cellular and multiuser Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) communi-cation networks. In massive MIMO cellular networks with pilot-based training, the most adopted approach is to employ the sameset of orthogonal training symbols in each cell. This is called the full-pilot reuse (FPR) scheme. In this paper, we consider the less-common but a more practical approach where each cell uses different sets of orthogonal training symbols and call this scheme as the Different Orthogonal Pilot (DOP) sequences. In particular, we focus on the downlink performance of massive MIMO networks with the Maximum Ratio Transmission (MRT) precoder at the base stations. The analysis is performed in the large system regime where the number of antennas at each base station and the number of users at each cell tend to infinity with a fixed ratio. We obtain a new expression for the Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) in that regime, called the limiting SINR. Numerical simulations show that it can approximate the finite-size systems accurately. Furthermore, the simulations also indicate that the DOP scheme can give a better SINR and a higher user capacity compared to those of the FPR scheme.

Abstract

Microwave communication system is often implemented as a network cellular backhaul, due to its simplicity of installation and capability to reach remote areas which are difficult to reach using fiber optics. This paper compares themicrowave network with frequency diversity and space diversity technique in the lake area using Pathloss 5.0, using two sites, site Mongal and site Bintang in Aceh. These two sites are located in two cities separated by a Lake, so it doesn’t support wireline communications. Therefore, wireless communication is needed on site Mongal and site Bintang. Availability of the system without diversity optimization is 99.9554%. Using frequency diversity with frequency difference of 460 MHz, 920 MHz, and 1,380 MHz and using space diversity with space of 0.9 meter, 1.7 meter, and 2.6 meter, best availability of 99.9977% is obtained. The best availability is obtained using space diversity withmaximum spacing of 2.6 meter under the main antenna.

Abstract

Electric lighting in indoor sport halls is essential for providing sufficient amount of light required for the sport activities, while maintaining visual comfort for the occupants. To do so, design optimization of the lighting system is often necessary. This study provides an example of design optimization for electric lighting system in the case of an indoor badminton hall in Bandung, according to the standard of EN 12193. The electric lighting system in the hall was modelled and simulated in DIALux evo simulation tool, validated with the measured values in the existing situation. One-at-a-time sensitivity analysis was then performed to investigate the influence of building parameters and luminaire configuration on the lighting performance and visual comfort parameters. Optimization process was realized by changing the dominant input parameters so that the required output parameters are achieved. Based on simulation results, the optimum luminaires are those of fluorescent tubes with luminous flux of 3,244 lm and electric power of 58 W per unit, mounted 5 m high above the floor. The optimum ceiling and floor reflectance are respectively 0.80 and 0.80. Based on optimization of those input parameters, the average illuminance on the field can be increased to 336~364 lx, the uniformity can be increased to 0.84~0.89, and the UGR glare index can be reduced to 19, satisfying the standard of EN 12193.

Abstract

Indonesia is committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through a nationally determined contribution (NDC) scheme. The target to reduce GHG emissions is 29% through the business as usual (BAU) scheme or 41% with international aid. These ambitious targets require transformations in energy, food, and land-use systems, which need to cope with the potential trade-offs among many targets, such as food security, energy security, avoided deforestation, biodiversity conservation, land use competition, and freshwater use. Mitigation and adaptation have complementary roles in responding to climate change at both temporal and spatial scales. This paper aims to perform simulations and predictions on manure management emissions producing CO2eq using machine learning methods of long short-term memory (LSTM) and gated recurrent unit (GRU). The hidden layer architecture used was six combinations, while the dataset was obtained from the fao.org repository. The optimizer used in this paper was RMSprop, with a graphical user interface using the Streamlit dashboard. The results of this study are (a) cattle with fifteen epochs using hidden layer four combinations (LSTM, GRU, LSTM, GRU) yielded RMSE 450,601; (b) non-dairy cattle with fifteen epochs and one hidden layer (GRU, GRU, GRU, GRU) yielding RMSE 361.421; (c) poultry birds with twelve epoch values and three hidden layers (GRU, GRU, LSTM, LSTM) resulted in an RMSE value of 341.429. The challenges faced were the determination of epochs, the combination of hidden layers, and the characteristics of the relatively small number of datasets. The results of this study are expected to provide added value for developing better decision support tools and models to assess emission trends in the livestock sector and develop CO2eq emission mitigation strategies that lead to sustainable fertilizer management practices.

Abstract

Prof. Soeparwi veterinary hospital is one of the medical institutions focused on providing medical services for animals. In its daily operations, the flow of informations among various departments has yet to be supported by management information systems (MIS) which enables efficiency of business process and a better management of the data. Previous researches have been conducted to develop MIS, which resulted in three independent MIS for managing registration, medical records, and patient bills. Each MIS is using their own database to store the data, thus causing duplicates of information and inconsistencies, and also increasing complexity in accessing the data. The goal of this research is to re-design the said database into a single database that will be used by various MIS. Three independent databases are merged by applying a technique that uses linguistic information as the basis for the matching–called linguistic-based schema matching. This method’s accuracy is evaluated by calculating precision, recall, and F-measure–which we obtained scores of above 50% for all three indicators. Requirement analysis is performed to further develop the database for supporting further needs of the hospital. The new database system is tested using black-box technique under few test cases to see if its functionality corresponds with the specifications defined. Result of this test proves that the new database could handle valid, invalid, and redundant inputs as expected by a score of 100% success rate.
