Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the external and internal factors and to analyze strategy formulation to increase freight forwarding marketing services. This research used SWOT analysis, internal and external matrixes. The results based on the SWOT analysis are the strength 3.83, the weaknesses 3.40, with the margin 0.43, and the opportunity 3.57, the threat 3.18, with the margin 0.39. The company takes place in quadrant I of SWOT in which the company has big strength and opportunity, so that the company is in SO strategy. Based on IE matrix, it is found that the internal factor 3.13, external factor 3.00, so that the company is in cell I which is in growing and developing position. So, the strategies that can be applied are market penetration, market development, and product development or the strategy of integration backwards, forwards and horizontal. Moreover, the results based on SWOT analysis diagram and IE matrix also found that alternative strategies are market penetration, market development, product development, backward integration, forward integration, horizontal integration.

Abstract

Tarakan Port is a container terminal where goods are sent using containers. The objective of this research is to figure out and analyze whether in the following years the container terminal of Tarakan Port is capable of handling the ship and the container flow. The method in collecting the data were field research and library research. In this study, descriptive analysis was used as the method with trend analysis as its analysis tool. The result of the study shows that the container terminal of Tarakan Port is capable of serving the flow of the containers with the capacity of container crane and reach stacker in the amount of 156,555 box/year and 149,100 box/year.. However, the value of berth occupancy ratio (BOR) of this particular terminal exceeds beyond 40% of the value defined by UNCTAD (United Nations Conference On Trade And Development). It can be concluded that PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) as the service provider in Tarakan Port should add a number of docks and improve the facilities in order to serve the increasing of container flow in 2017-2018.

Abstract

This study refutes the procedures for transporting dangerous class 1 and 7 goods from trailers or ships to stacking fields and vice versa at Tanjung Priok Port Container I Terminal, and compares the procedures for moving containers, dangerous goods, classes 1 and 7 used by loading and unloading companies load I Container Port of Tanjung Priok Port with the IMDG convention code, 2004, specifically during fires and leaks. The main problem in this study is which one can change the IMDG code that has been applied in the transfer of containers containing dangerous goods class 1 and 7. This study uses a descriptive comparative method. The results of the study concluded that the application of trucks directly lost and directly loaded trucks could lead to accidents or recovery in the field. Implementation of the separation system regulations in accordance with the IMDG Code regulations, but still found inadequate personal protective equipment facilities such as breathing apparatus, safety gloves, ear plugs, face and eye protection equipment.

Abstract

PT. Dianta Daya Embara is one of the logistics company in Indonesia dealing with documents and package delivery. The purpose of the research is to figure out the strategy of the company to increase the number of document deliveries. The writer was using field research by observing the company while doing the internship program, interviewing the general manager, and spreading the questionnaire to the managers and supervisors of the company. SWOT analysis was used to analyse the data. The result of the EFI matrix shows that the strength of the company lies in the cleanliness of the warehouse. Based on EFE matrix, the opportunity of the company lies in the market place and business growth. Based on IE matrix, the company is in cell II in the position of growing and building. The study suggests the company to increase the number of delivery by giving additional delivery service for “express package.”

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of service quality topassengers’ satisfaction at Lombok Internasional Airport, Praya. The study applied quantitative method by distributing questionaires to 154 passengers of Citilink and Batik airlines from Lombok to Halim. The result of the study shows that there is a strong correlation betwen service quality and passengers’ satisfaction. The contribution value of service quality is 52,1% towards passengers’ satisfaction at Lombok International Airport, Praya.
